But neither can cross a ball, which isnt good for a position that is essentially a winger, neither of them good at breaking forward either, they wouldnt be good wing backs in my opinion mate. JRC may be though. Nyambe is a decent full back, good at breaking and has pace but soon plays back to defence if he cant beat a man, also cant cross a ball either. However maybe nyambe and bell were slightly reluctant with two poor centre backs last season, maybe theyll play with more freedom this season.

Was having a good season last season until he got injured (played 30 games). The keeper who then came in also played well, so Lampard kept him in the team. He's been doing pretty decent at Derby. I'd be happy with a more experienced and vocal keeper. Youngest average age of the squad in the Championship season 2018-19: 1) Blackburn - 24.55 2) Wigan - 24.73 3)Swansea - 24.76 4) Reading - 24.95 5) Ipswich 25.03 Ipswich were bottom, reading were 20th and in a relegation scrap until last couple of games of the season, Wigan 18th and same as Reading. Then us and swansea were decent at times, but far too inconsistent. There's a lot to be said for chucking in some experience leaders. That extra expereince from Downing and Johnson, and hopefully someone like Carson will be very good for this team, at times last season we really lacked the nouse in games, e.g. 1-0 at Bristol and losing 4-1 2-1 up at ipswich (a very poor side) and conceeding in injury time 2-2 1-0 up at home to villa and conceeding in injury time 1-1 1-0 up at Swansea and losing 4-1 2-0 up at home to brum and conceeding two late goals 2-2 2-1 up at leeds in the 91st minute and losing 3-2 2-0 up at brentford and losing 5-2 2-1 up at brum and conceeding with a few minutes to go, just after we'd taken the lead 2-2 There were a few other games were we were leading and didn't win, but these are the main ones, 20 points dropped here, in games of which we were controlling and then just fell apart, or didn't have the nouse at the end of the game to keep the lead. We finished on 60 points, even taking just half of them points that we chucked away (10) that would have put us on 70, granted that wouldn't have been enough for play offs, but in a lot of season it would see in the play offs or very near.

I know mate!

I knew someone would say that lol. Well if we are going off facts, waggott and mowbray have both said "similar budget to last season". Last season we spent on deals WORTH, 7mil in BB and 3mil in Arma, and we apparently had some left for january but didnt use it. Therefore if we are going off that, then no we havent spent it and should still have a few quid spare pal.

If its carson and then the Raya money spent on a centre half and a winger on loan then that would be okay.

Hed be a ruddy good signing thats for sure.

Interesting one of the best in the league. Obvious why though, we have more of the ball at home and attack a bit more meaning we dont have to defend as much. That is exactly why we shouldnt have just sat back when playing away from home, team wasnt and still isnt good enough to do that.

It will be Evans, they like signing Northern Irish players, and a lot of Northern irish players like/support Rangers, so if offered the chance he would probably go, he would probably do okay in the SPL, him and Davis, two northern irish lads in the middle for them.
-
He thinks calling people pal is negative, says it all really.
-
No, but if it isnt, its both sides smacking sixes and fours. Better that football thats for sure. What do you actually enjoy? Spelling mistakes?
-
Every game we were under pressure he stepped up with a great innings, although we lost them, apart from today. His bowling has been average, thankfully morgan didnt use him too much. His batting and fielding were feckin solid.

Doesnt work like that, Mike. End of the day both sides scored the same. England wouldnt have gone for that extra run and been runout if that was the case, it was a free run for them, thats why they did it. Also in cricket pressure is everything, england miles more pressure to reach the same score, so essentially they did better to reach 241. You could say its not fair that one team wins the toss and gets the better of the conditions, which is what kiwis had. So that evens it out if you think of it like that. Kiwis had the better of the pitch, the pitch dried up, meaning kiwis could pitch it full, long and short, without really worrying, because the ball was doing a bit, and the outfield had slowed meaning they should have conceded less boundaries, but they didnt, england still scored more boundaries, which shows that maybe england did deserve to win. Cricket isnt as simple as you put it, so many variations pal.

Rovers fan, Jos Butler took the wicket to win England the world cup, very fitting.

I am presuming thats your status pal with the greenbank name, can i give myself a pat on the back for my columbo skills?

Last season the number of times we lost points after graham went off was embarrasing. That is why this is a good signing, i think he can do the graham job. Not too bothered about 20 plus goals from him, 10-15 wil do. We dont dont need a 20 plus striker because we have a 15 plus midfielder in dack and another potential one in rothwell. We arent the side that had gestede and rhodes scoring all the time, we have a good 5 players who are capable of scoring 10 plus.

Hopefully police constable.

Id love a proper winger but it wont happen, wouldnt be too bad if our full backs could cross a ball. However fairly happy with attacking players now, so please for goodness sake, sign a centre half. I just cannot watch mulgrew at centre half all season, again.
-
I'd agree with that, but my goodness we do need that to happen.
-
Was class in Premiership for a few years also. Was first choice centre half with Berg, with friedel in goal, when we got something like 16 clean sheets in one season, terrific defence that season.
-
Bit annoying how they only gave us 1650 tickets and they all sold straight away, part of stadium is closed. We could have shifted 1.5 times that, probably over 3k, many more if not a sunday friendly. If rangers came here wed have given them more.

Eye defo. Their still exciting to watch.

He will be using it defending

What most of us predicted will happen, freebies, and then we will loan a couple of players who wont play and have a big panic buy at the end of the window, sam gallagher probably. I think they are doing it purposley, as in they sort of know they cant get a deal they want so will spunk it on a player like gallagher if need be, but our spending will be down this summer because they will end up loaning him with a view to buy, for FFP reasons, i.e. not actually spending it until end of season so different set of accoounts
-
I think we are missing that pace though and i think he makes mistakes because hes always trying to beat a man whereas as CB he can just hoof it without criticism.

Brentford just sold another player making profit again, thats now £46 million incoming fees in 12 months and they still have an excellent exciting team.
