  1. This all sounds very similar to August transfer window, get ready for an expensive panic buy tomorrow.
  2. Burnley 2 up at old trafford eh, looks like we will be playing them after all next season, once Britt fires us to promotion.
  3. Possibly, he will be out of our reach if he does.
  4. Bit late now that he's signed for a french club.
  5. Most newspapers release stories online for the next days paper at 11pm. We used to have Alan Nixon (the journo) who contributed on here many seasons ago, he used to provide news stories in relation to Rovers at 11pm.
  6. Similar to me and a few of my mates. Been quite a few away games over last few years, although nowhere near as many as we used to. Back in the pre-venky era we'd get a season ticket without question and therefore not attending wasn't ever in our thoughts, however most of us got tired of it all and stopped going. After a few years of not going much, apart from freebies and cheap ticket games, the £25-£30 tickets suddenly seem just an outrageous amount of money to spend on a mid-table championship/league 1 game. Back when some of us didn't have season tickets at times, we would still get to as many as we can and didn't think anything of the £20-25 at the time prices, but now we know what else that money can go on, we think twice about it, I mean £25 mean price, plus £5er on food, £20 on beers, £5er on the bus you're at £55 as a minimum. This is why they need to do so much more with their season tickets, people don't think much about a £25 a month or whatever it is direct debit, doesn't feel as much a pinch on the pockets. Been through it before but Forest and Huddersfield great examples of which I have mentioned before, their attendances (both in the championship) almost doubled with very low season ticket offers and same with Bradford in league 1. Last 3 games of season offer cheap tickets, all 3 games for £30, and make it known that 30 people will be picked at random in each game for a free season ticket. The bigger crowds will pay for the free tickets, and it will give people a prolonged run at home games and get them really thinking about coming back, rather than one off games where they've forgot about it the following week. Also anyone who takes up the £30 for 3 games offer also gets £30 off a season ticket if bought before 31/05/2019. Make all kids of primary school age completely free. 18-21 don't just offer them discounted tickets, offer them student cards of which they can get discounts on everything (food, drinks, merchandise) - a lot of students struggle, so give them as much incentive as possible. Offer a 'mates rates' season tickets, along the lines of, buy together with your mates and get 25% off the second ticket. Offer the first 10,000 season tickets for a £100 reduction. It's a lot yes, but they need to take some risks and give some massive incentives to people, a reduction like that get's people talking, gets people rushing down to get them, the more that sell, the more stories in the local rag about how well season ticket sales are going, the more feel good factor, the more people sign up to it. Huddersfield were charging £295 for season tickets in 15/16, in 16/17 the dropped them to £179 and they sold 8,000 more than they usually did at the time. With season tickets offer free travel from various parts of blackburn and darwen and other local towns. Any season ticket offers, offer guarantees that the prices will be frozen for the following season. Offer tickets not just on direct debits, but offers like pay 25% now and the rest after christmas. Offer all season ticket holders the chance of free away travel for 1 or 2 games during the season, at they get to pick which game they want free travel.
  7. From Boro's local rag, when he signed "It is understood the move will double his £20,000 Forest wages and includes rich goal bonuses while promotion would see his earnings soar to £60,000 a week - £3m a year". So looks like he's on £40k plus bonuses,
  8. It's Giorgos donis' son played for us 96/97 season on very good wages, came as a fairly big signing on a bosman, but was shite, may have been out first bosman signing actually, most money spent on a greek player at the time and signed from a championship league semi final team.
  9. Haha, it's a nickname a few of the lads have for, Mike. Cut a long story short, he once poured a bag of broken doritos into one of the lads pints after a disagreement, no punch up, he has class and uses doritos!
  10. He did Dorito, his daughter Rosy went to st barnabas in darwen, Atkins always used to pick her up, proper good bloke.
  11. Interesting that, I think it was madon who mentioned Gallagher in mid next week, as I've heard nuttall is signing for Coventry on loan mid next week.
  12. Wonder whether he only shops at mid range food outlet Asda and refuses to shop at Aldi or Lidl, because the meat might take a bit longer to adapt to the slow cooker?
  13. You've ignored, Stuart's comment then and just give it a laughing emoji. Lenihan and Mulgrew are converted midfielders, he Is 100% correct. Cover it up all you want, the defence is awful, including those two and if the youth centre halves aren't so great, why not play them now? The defence is a shambles most games so put them in.
  14. One of the most stupid songs I have ever heard. "all you got was aberdeen, aberdeen at home, aberdeen at hooooooome" - forgetting the fact that they went to Greece and Turkey in the qualyfying matches also, added to the fact that most british sides would love an all british European game.
  15. I get that mate to some extent, but I fell in those 3 games, we seemed to be happy to take the point possibly because we went behind in all 3 games. If we could add that quality, which is what people are suggesting, then we could make that jump into the play offs. I mean, at time this season, that cautious approach has arguable cost us as more than going gung ho may have, in terms of sitting back and conceding late goals on a regular basis, mate.
  16. Yes more or less what I meant, you only have to look at how the u23 teams (including ours) fair in the football league trophy, they are all getting hammered off league one, down to the bottom of league 2 opposition.
  17. It's a rubbish set up anyway, with little competition. Reserve league was much better, mate.
  18. Get what people are saying about spending in January and slowly rebuilding etc. Don't quite agree, I think this season is one that is, but unfortunately for us now was, a season that is there for the taking. The quality has dropped, nobody is running away with it and every team is having more than one bad run. Look at top 6 Leeds, we should have done the double over them, Norwich got a very late winner in a drab game berift of quality, Boro we should have beaten away, West Brom took 4 points from, derby got a draw away and then they weren't good enough to break down our defence. The only team that beat us well were sheff Utd and arguably if it wasn't for Smallwood we would have got something at their place. Our troubles were at home to the likes of Rotherham, Millwall and reading, if we'd have take the extra 6 points from those 3 poor sides we'd be 6th. However we seems reluctant to take games by the scruff of the neck, much like the season. With a few more additions we could have had a real go, but the manager seems reluctant to have a go at it, that's seems to have rubbed off on most of the fans and players. This season was there for the taking for teams like ours.
  19. Funny how they've started this after waggot left.
  20. Liverpool used to have a song for Torres - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cpV0ygkmhP4 i thought this would go well to that tune for, Nyambe: weve had him since he was a boy nyambe, nyambe hes big and strong and loves this song, nyambe nyambe now look at him he's doing us proud, and we will shout his name out loud ryan nyambe he's on of our own
  21. Probably, but are they any better? We concede for fun most weeks, whoever plays at the back.
