  1. Well I'd be contracting myself if I agreed, but then again, I suppose you are right, how much worse could they be at the back.
  2. This is the problem though "such a person would do a job" but we don't really have a clue if they would and shouldn't be in that position, defenders should have been brought in.
  3. Said it all season, all the defenders at the club are league 1. Mulgrew because his fitness doesn't allow him to be all that competitive at centre back in this league, over exertion and he's injured, and far to immobile and poor in the air, the difference was telling last season didn't he score something like 15 goals, this season what, 1 goal or summet like that, and tonnes conceded. Williams and bell aren't good enough at this level, and nyambe at times can be like a headless chicken. Lenihan has potential but we need more than that for what will be a scrap this season, he's also been very poor in some games. The you have downing don't need to say much there, oh amd Rodwell who's played all his career in midfield. Then you have the worst defensive midfielder in the league in Richie Smallwood, surely.
  4. Raya Nyambe Williams Mulgrew Bell Evans Reed Armstrong Dack Rothwell Graham Defence needs a shake up after some dismal performances, so would play williams at centre back, where he is a lot better than he is at LB. Drop Lenihan or Mulgrew. Drop Smallwood as he can't pass the ball and get's over run most games. Get Evans in there, who can interchange from defence to attack better than any other player we have, and Reed because he's a top player. Then two on the wings who are quicky or pacey and can create on the counter, with Dack and Graham. Squad really does need some proper wingers though.
  5. Williams an nyambe were a joke, the whole back 4 was. The hype around mulgrew is astounding. Hes shite at this level and people don't like it. He'll be injured soon.
  6. Mr jokers back on the scene. Didn't feel lucky today, worst performance for some years that.
  7. Nothing short of pathetic. Terrified Tony team selection a joke, team attitude suited Tony, they looked terrified.
  8. Yeh, he's a decent little championship player, they have another good midfield Pearson, bit like a Joe Allen. Gallagher also has bags of quality. They're a decent side.
  9. It's crap these days, boring. Haven't watched it properly since that Helen left.
  10. There is, but it can take a while to get out.
  11. Trouble is, he should be up front scoring goals which we are badly lacking at home. Which brings that 7mil on him into question again, why not spend half on a proper winger which we havent had since mowbray was here bar Chapman and a striker for around 3.5 someone like a hemed who qpr brought in or that calibre. Doesn't make sense, but then again it does, the owners. They'll only spend on players they think they can make money on, so established or proved players who would fit the above bill aren't welcome. Tony knows that and is playing it well, but needs to work harder on deals or frees for more established players or loaning some like gestede.
  12. We need a Jordan Rhodes. Graham doesn't score a lot of goals. And we have no other strikers who play up front they all play on the wing.
  13. Poor result really. Failed to beat Reading, Millwall and Rotherham at home. Just missing that bit up front, a Jordan Rhodes who will always bag dare I say.
  14. Injuries and suspensions i should have said. Mulgrew injured and evans suspended, Reed off injured. Added to the injuries we seem to be getting every game, unlucky with them at the mo.
  15. Injuries piling up Reed asking manager to take him off, probs asked him to stay on until half time.
  16. So you think an inflation of around 7.5% per year is reasonable? Good job you arent in government then
  17. I see our away game at Millwall has been selected for a live sky game, tea time kick off on a saturday, won't be taking many down there now.
  18. I do like my stats/figures, Matthew, so here goes, in those 2 games we sold around 120% extra once on open sale, therefore if that happens again, that's 3740 sold, with it being a derby on a saturday, down the road, not on telly, you can expect those fans, who maybe just do 1 or 2 away games a season going to this also, maybe another 1000 or so, so I reckon 4500 as a minimum will be sold.
  19. Sounds a good idea the 'flexiticket' - so essentially you get a ticket and it has say 5 or 8 game credits on it, and you pick which games you go to? Sounds reasonable to me, even if they charged slightly more, as no doubt some may pick the more exciting and more expensive cat A games, I think a lot would still go for that. So instead of £22 a game average, charge £24 quid a game average which is inbetween the Cat A and B game price, so £120 for 5 games. Or if going in Riverside £20 a game average so £100 for 5 games. Might not sound appetising to many, but it might to a few who otherwise wouldn't bother.
  20. True about nobody running away with it at the moment. The league is going as it always does in other aspects, 25 points (which is what we are on) usually has you around 8th or 9th, as we are, the play off places teams are usually on around 26-30 points, which they are, team 3rd from bottom usually has around 14-15 points, which Reading do. The seasons were teams have ran away with it (i.e. Newcastle and Wolves in recent seasons) they have been on around 35-37 points, and the team in 3rd on around 30 points. The team in third this season is on 30 points but so are the top 2, that's the difference this season, meaning any team in the top half is still in with a good chance of play offs and any team in the top 6-8 are still in with a chance of top 2.
  21. Yes that was a penny, more so than the brereton penny.
  22. I thought we should have had a penny in first half with the challenge on bell.
  23. Mulgrew injured again, thought he would be like this, this season, he's not good enough at this level becuase in terms of consistency, he cant cope with the tempo and ends up constantly injured, dont see him scoring any free kicks either this season because the keepers aren't shit. We shoud have brought in a proper centre half. He's a great leader and a good player, but doesn't play enough games when at this level it seems, shame really.
