  1. I wouldn't imagine so pal. Newcastle aren't a big pull for Rovers fans.
  2. No don't think so, he was fuming at being taken off, threw his arms out at assistant manager.
  3. He's their club captain isn't he? Can't see him leaving on that basis alone. Additionally they are only one injury/suspension away from needing him. I am sure he won't mind being on the bench for a team that is second in the league.
  4. Thing I would go with the latter, Tomphil. Do you agree pal?
  5. This time two years ago under Coyle, we'd conceded 40 goals, the exact same as this season, have we really improved since then at championship level? I'd argue not. The defence is the exact same, same players, same errors and same awful defending. Back then I would argue we had a better forward line to with Gallagher, Emnes and Graham, with the addition of Joao also. Central midfield is the same, Evans and a dolloper at the side of him (was Lowe, now Smallwood). We've still got poor or no wingers. What's changed?
  6. Course they accept the defeats, what do we expect when the manager says publicly "this is where we are" and "in this league we will be handed some big defeats" and "you have to take losses in this league" - if he's accepting it, so will the players.
  7. Because Smallwood is a "yes sir, no sir" kind of fella, he's crap and he knows it, so makes himself a fav to stay in the side, only explanation for it, because he is one atrocious football participant (not using player).
  8. All teams bar Bolton (just) who we failed to beat.
  9. Worrying thing for me a couple of months ago was that we failed to beat 3 very poor teams at home, Reading, Millwall and Rotherham, coupled with failing to beat the worst side in the division Ipswich, thankfully we just managed to beat Bolton, JUST. I felt these might come back to bite us and if this run continues they really will. a 4 point return from Millwall, Rotherham and Reading at home, with Ipswich away is poor.
  10. Looked lost, like he did't know how he was supposed to play, and when given a rare opportunity fluffed it, but what can you expect for a lad that plays up front for the first time since signing in August.
  11. So 1 half football again from mowbrays men, been happening for a long time this. Gallagher had it right "when are these lot particularly Smallwood going to learn how to manage a game, where to pass and foul, it's basics"
  12. Said it many time on here, he isn't good enough for this level, physically, simple as that. Just cause he can score a free kick is irrelevant.
  13. This line up full of energy, not something I would associate with Dack. Give these lads the chance to do the job I reckon.
  14. Mulgrew seems to be taking more of a 'lead' role today, maybe something has been said to him by Mowbray, encouraging and leading his team in the first half, particularly continually talking to Travis and Rothwell, giving them encouragement, that's what we want to see from a captain.
  15. If you're looking to make money, put on 4 or more goals to be scored in any rovers game. Happened 14 out of 26 games in all competitions this season with Rovers, just under 54% of games, you'll make more money than you lose.
  16. Sorry yes he did at Swansea. Sheff Utd, can't remember that, I was down in the concourse all game as we were so poor. Bristol yes Nyambe did go off, although from my point of view, the tide was set for a big defeat. For me he's half decent at right back, and his leadership assists greatly. Nyambe for me just isn't a good player, let's the opposition cross at will and when attacking runs with head down and then turns back, and does absolutely nothing with the ball. Bennett in a central midfield role would be nice to see, but it won't happen. We've no wingers, and neither of our full backs can cross a ball, therefore we are very one dimensional, and go through the middle all the time and it becomes all so predictable.
  17. I am not his biggest fan when he plays on the wing, better at right back, Elliott Bennett - it is clear his leadership has been missed, 100%, since he's been out, the following has happened; Won 1 Drawn 2 Lost 3, Goals Conceded 12 (average of 2 per game) Overall without Bennett this season Played 7, Won 1 Drawn 3, Lost 3 In addition to that the capitulations at Swansea losing 3-1 and Preston losing 4-1 and Bristol losing 4-1 were when Bennett played right mid, rather than right back. Included in the 7 games without him was the Wigan 3-1 defeat. All that speaks absolute volumes for me - 7 games he hasn't played in this season we've won 1 and conceded for fun. The games of which he has played in, but hasn't played at the back we've been beat 4-1, 4-1, 3-1.
  18. I make this point every week to people, people think it doesn't matter if they don't score, every single week whoever plays full back allows the opposition winger to cross the ball, it is baffling. Someone mentioned yesterday how many goals we concede from cross into the box, this is why.
  19. Things is though, if you take dack out of that team, what theats do we pose?
  20. Who knows, one things for sure, if the trend continues then we will be falling down the rankings pretty quickly and these lot are weak as piss, so it would certainly be hardwork. Radio lancs, Gallagher said this team needs reinforcements at the back for sure but not just there, he is spot on. Mowbray again mentioned "we need some in who are going to help us out" he says that a lot and I always find it a strange phrase to use, 'help us out' points toward him not wanting to upset the current crop of which in part consists of shite. So he's scared of upsetting some players who aren't good enough anyway, why? They're crap, additionally it always indicates looking toward loans as the 'help us out' indicates a temporary fix, but his loan market record is dreadful, bar reed. And we need a permanent fix.
  21. That's never worked when he's tried it. We usually go panicky at the back. Where would it leave Armstrong though? Either with dack or Graham
  22. So bell or Williams at left mid, more players out of position, great stuff.
  23. I'd be happy if that was true, but in all likelihood he probably just completely mistimed a tackle.
