  1. Christ, you like a laugh then do you? Two donkeys went to market
  2. Tony knows we need a win asap, that's why its a strong team. Good management to be fair.
  3. Ask Chaddy, he will logon to twitter, ask Nicko, get a reply, post it on here as factual, give his opinion on the signing that hasn't happened and then say he never wanted him when he signs for another club.
  4. Some of us want to read 'proper' and 'factual' transfer stories and links, and not absolute tripe from @ReluctantNicko but hey oh
  5. Very true, Matt. Henchoz was out for a lot of that relegation season, he could have been the difference in just keeping us up, then went on the cheap with a £3.5mil release clause. Kidds transfers were better than Hodgson I would say; Jansen - success Short - successs Kelly - part success (didn't play much, but a good back up keeper with plenty of experience) Ostenstad - fair success, stayed with us a for a few years, and always capable of getting 8-10 goals as a back-up striker Carsley - in that first season in the championship was a our top scorer I think, had a good season, then sold to Everton I think Mcateer - success, part of the promotion side Gillespie - success Blake - failed Ward - failed (was Kidd signing, thought it was Hodgson initially)
  6. Yes mate, think we signed him before Hodgson, around 96 from GIpswich.
  7. Same, he was class. 97/98 Henchoz - success Dahlin - Failed (was looked upon as a good signing though, injuries ruined this one) Fila - success I would say Corbett - failed Valery - failed Anders Anderson - failed Tore Pedersen - failed Fettis - failed oversaw departures of - Le Saux, Berg, Pearce, Given, Coleman, Bohinen, Warhurst, Donis 98/99 Davies - failed Dailly - failed Ward - failes Perez - success of sorts had problems settling Konde - failed Peacock - failed oversaw departures of - Hendry, Ripley, Beattie Probably fair to say his record in the transfer window at Rovers was pretty disastrous.

  10. Wouldn't really like, Tomlin seems to move clubs every season. Pilkington, okay as a loan, good crosser of the ball of which we lack.
  11. ? Things, can only get better ? i know what youre saying mate but you're preaching to the wrong audience. Not reyt bothered. Ewood has drained all interest for me, and im sure many others.
  12. 100% agree i loved it in there last season and the few before that. Now have no desire to go to home games. Because i know the atmosphere is incredibley poor.
  13. Very much disagree pal. I remember looking forward to going ewood singing a good 2/3 of the game. Now i dont bother going much as atmosphere is a big part of it for me, hence more away games these days. Ewood isnt enjoyable for me and i feel a lot more feel the same. If i go i am down in the concourse all game having a beer, sad i know, but sitting down watching average football for 95 mins doesn't do it for me, whereas an atmosphere accompanying that would. I dont think people realise the importance of that for some. Not aiming that at you mate by the way.
  14. Makes perfect sense now why mowbray looks for players with only have a year left on contract. I believe that's because there's a good budget but the owners aren't willing to sanction long term expensive contracts. Therefore tony is looking at getting them in at low fees to allow him to use the budget on bigger wages. However when we clearly got desperate we fired out big offers but the budget wouldn't allow big wages and wasn't quite enough for the extra million or so for the required fee. Therefore tony is now stuck for options and will probably have to go for his c and d options. 2 years ago and beyond venkys hated paying fees but handed out ridiculous wages, now its the other way around. A result of the accounting audit maybe?
  15. Probably because he isn't a very good player at premier league level mate
  16. Yes mate there was definitely a few instances were it was said. I remember we were playing Liverpool one game, and i remember watching the pre match before going down to ewood, and it was being said how tough it would be for Liverpool as the blackburn fans really back their team etc.
  17. The atmosphere is shite at ewood full stop. Has been for years. I remember the souness and Hughes days when sky and others would comment on how well we backed the team and what a fortress it was. People can't be bothered these days. I think a standing section in the blackburn end would make a difference. Oxford game felt like the old days, the whole ground backing the team throughout. I think the Riverside used to have a big influence on the atmosphere, as if the darwen end started a song or the blackburn end did, the Riverside would pick it up and it would then get the other stand going etc but with the Riverside 2/3 empty it doesnt these days.
  18. He didnt say that though? May have been, even so would still make it £15.5mil, budget. I jusy don't believe it.
  19. We have a relatively easy start this year. Ipswich, Millwall, Hull and Reading, four sides who will all struggle, but so far have taken two points. After that we've got Brentford who are capable, but again winnable. September though villa, Derby, Stoke and forest. If we don't pick up wins soon, then come October we will be bottom 3.
  20. Just over 13,200 (800 from Millwall,)
  21. So according to mowbray tonight we put a £4mil bid in for freeman, £5mil for brereton and £4mil for someone from prem (who went elsewhere for bigger wages) so we could have spent £13mil, plus army potential £3mil, plus davenport and Rothwell a combined £1mil or so, plus palmer loan fee and wages say£1.5mil. So budget of £19.5mil???
  22. Millwall deserved 3 as well, woodwork doesn't count as on target they hit it twice and had another great chance. They were a lot better first half, once again the manager hasn't sorted out the 'slow out of the blocks' mentality.
  23. We can't keep playing smallwood hes dog shit. Gives ball away which is ironic considering that song they sing about him and hes slow as shit at getting back like playing with ten
  24. I thought last seasons theme of starting every game poorly would have been sorted over the summer, but seems not.
