  1. No issues with splashing the cash as long as there is enough to go round and cover other areas. If we are blowing the whole lot on one lad tho I would be a bit miffed as there has been other deals done over summer that look a bit better value for money. In saying that, I don’t know a lot about Brereton, I’d be lying to say that I’d heard of him prior to deadline move but I’d be excited to see him in a rovers shirt and see what he is about and it’s a blessing that rovers are back in the champ with this kind of money to spend after the dark uncertain times of being relegated and looking like we were on a massive slide with no end in sight.

  2. I’m struggling to see the benefit of a team allowing these loans you talk of,

1- they will say yea come back in January

2- why deplete their own squad when they can’t use the money to sign replacements.

Means the only loans that will be available is big team u23 players, which won’t be for long term and no future fee agreed.

today was the day to make our squad ready and competitive and it hasn’t happened. Think a good few are clinging on to these fabled loans that won’t happen

  3. I wish the people who claim to be itk and we are doing this or that had two strikes and they are out if they get found out to be talking utter bs. Why do that just to get comments? Should stick to actual links and who fans want not made up nonsense that just turns to disappointment

  4. Squad badly needed improvements, Williams, Smallwood, evans, Conway, nuttall, Samuel, downing, caddis, gladwin all not good enough for this league. Money to spend apparently and where exactly have we strengthened. Our forward is 32 now and wasn’t mobile in his prime. Even leaving is this late is a shambles. Don’t know why we have been spoon fed rubbish all summer if our perm signings are 3 unproven players at this level and a stop gap from Chelsea

We aren't signing a third left back to supplant an ever-present from last season and a guy we spent half a million on to compete with him 8 months ago. You might as well not think about that, it absolutely won't happen whether you think it should or not.

Not if Williams is converted into centre half cover instead of lb starter. He ain’t too good at lb and bell hasn’t been digging up trees. Would mean we don’t need to track Bauer which we probably won’t be getting

  6. I’d be happy with deadline day deals for McGinn, Oviedo and pitman

    we could then play

                Raya

    nyambe. Mulgrew  lenihan. Oviedo

                    Davenport

    bennet.                         Mcginn

                   Dack

                  Graham  Armstrong

    Strong team there

  7. Firstly I’d have taken a point before the game and iv not seen the highlights yet but what I’m gathering is the same issues not addressed

full backs- not good enough particularly Williams. He is a liability particularly at this level. Nyambe should be sub with an experienced pro in there.

evans/ Smallwood - not good enough, Smallwood doesn’t have enough to his game and his gasket is blown after a half. Evans doesn’t impose himself/ control the game anything like he should and his shooting is terrible, how many does he sky over the bar or kick into the ground. Neither should be starters

    Samuel/nuttall -

not good enough, crying out for a more accomplished striker to ease the burden on graham. Neither of these two are the answer.

raya- still makes too many basic errors for me. Does win points but throws away a lot too.

mowbray- has never mastered the final 10 minutes. How often do we concede late goals and how few times do we net late winners. Difference between average managers and good ones. Hurst seems to be great at getting late goals.

Overall- yes it’s great to get promotion and you feel like you should be loyal to your team but I’m afraid a few of them should have been left in lg 1, as that’s their standard. A thank you for getting us up but we have now outgrown you sorry, would suffice. It’s the nature of football. Never rest on your laurels, tough decisions must be made. Feel like Tony is trying too hard to be mr nice guy il give you a chance to some of them.

squad needs a good few transfers this coming week.

take the point and move on. I’d say hopefully lessons learned but they never seem to be
