Buckley got much better, stats are meaningless

I'm talking more about when he was out the team in Sept we tended to win, when he played we tended not to win...I've checked.  JDT dropped him to the 21s for ages because of his form at the start of the season.  I'm surprised you don't remember all this.

We need to buy someone to replace him and the hapless Travis in there so that Wharton can play his natural game....this must be our main priority along with a striker .

I'm not swayed either way with Buckley.

He was out of the side for a while like you say to improve, he got back in and was really finding his groove before his injury at Stoke.

Played a key roll in those 4 consecutive wins.

Check his stats, Bucko has never found his groove....Why do you accept such mediocrity when we have much better in young Wharton ...just need to buy a proper championship midfielder to play with the lad, an enforcer to allow him to do the damage.

If you look at the stats a bit closer, you will find that Buckley started in our 4 consecutive wins in February/Early March, got injured in the next game against Stoke, which then followed with us winning 1 game in the next 10.

Look at the beginning of the season and then use your memory.  We have been better without throughout the season, JDT froze him out and even said he needed to improve...🤷‍♂️

Take the Bucko tinted specs off, Wharton is about 5 years younger and 5 years better.

Think we lost it when Buckley got injured.

This is a load of rubbish.  He's been on the bench or not in the squad for more than half the season.

If you actually look at the facts, we tend to win when he's not playing and lose when he is....the stats are there for all to see.

Over rated chump but let's not let facts get in the way of the Bucko love in

How do we know that’s down to how JDT has developed him? He was outstanding in most of his games pre World Cup. He then didn’t play till April and has come back playing equally as well.

No one is saying he should have played every week and been burned out. But in some games he surely would have been beneficial to have come on for 45 minutes here and there, especially as we all generally agree that Morton has had to play far more football this season than he was probably expected to.

Wasn't even on the bench for the quarters

Only you would put Dolan up top after his no shows in the last 3 games v Cov, Burnley and Nobbers.  I'd go as far as saying you are trolling

One plus for me is that JDT doesn’t belittle our club.

He has in a way with his narrative that we shouldn't be in the play offs etc, insinuating we are over achieving.   No different to Luton, Millwall....nobody expected them either but their managers are fist pumping and talking them up.

I think you are being seduced with his Danish charms and totally opposite persona to Mogadon

It's absolutely no such fucking thing, but I said a while back that when he did start playing and proved how good he is, this sort of post-event hindsight bullshit would be posted by people who were defending the manager.

We saw way back in October against Blackpool that Adam Wharton could run a game. We've been calling for him to play ever since. Nothing revisionist about it. He was dropped unfairly, kept out unfairly by someone who was worse than him and who was making costly mistakes, and now he's back he's showing how ridiculous it was. He isn't just playing well, he's out playing everyone else. He looks levels above other teams not just ours. He didn't go from not good enough to start to being far superior suddenly because of JDT's magical training sessions.

Playing Morton over Wharton HAS cost us points. It's as clear as these intangible sorts of things can be.

Spot on post.  Looks well that the bog standard Morton needs to get injured before the manager is forced to play someone who's much better.

    I do.

It's all about presenting a united front, as they would do with any signing.

So, if we have to move forward with one of them, it has to be JDT then and GB has to move on....I have my reservations about what's going on with not playing Wharton hardly, people like Dolan playing and AW and HL not getting any time....just all not right for me.

The biggest issue the team had in January was it had no striker. Broughton despite by his own admission considered 25 strikers and didn't get one through the door. Had he managed to get a decent Championship striker in we would be sat comfortable in the play offs at worse and have made an FA Cup semi final.

Not sure that he was JDT's choice myself as I highly doubt he had ever heard of him. A young English player with a good record in youth football he seems to be very much like a Broughton signing.

So, with GB saying it was his and JDTs first choice, you think Greggy was spinning a yarn.?

    The morning after.

In one dugout a man who had been given a bottomless pit of money to win the league.

In the other, a man whose recruitment team got the paperwork for an excellent loanee midfielder wrong, and couldn’t even be bothered with his main request for a centre forward. This meant that against our fiercest rivals we didn’t have a single senior striker in the squad.

But that’s not the full story. We still outfought and outplayed them despite our obvious limitations on and off the pitch. The difference was a well taken goal by a €4m substitute. Not many teams in this league can do that. In contrast we brought on a 19 year old academy lad.

I would hope Steve Waggott and Gregg Broughton had a sleepless night, knowing that they are responsible for the failure to achieve at least a play off place from our January position. They’ve let the club, the fans, the players and the manager down. Though I’m sure they slept soundly.

Can you imagine Gareth Ainsworth playing Dolan v Burnley...?   He got a result at the turf.

It's on the manager this, for me he can go now.

JDT out as per @Mercer post above.
