Has had some very unfair criticism in the past, but unfortunately this season it's warranted. He's not been good enough.
Was unfair in your opinion, some of us could see the deficiencies in his game since he signed. Now anyone with half a brain can defend against him.

I think Leonard staying on would've been more effective than Dolan up front.

Apparently he's a Bristol lad!
Born there, raised a Lancashire lad, his Dad is Matt Hill ex Nobbers legend, journeyman and non league manager.
Had James in one of my squads a few years ago, great lad and a fantastic player......county captain. Great move for all.

I think it’s more not understanding when people say ‘they don’t give a shit’ but comment anyway. If I didn’t care about something, I wouldn’t comment about it….
That's you though.....be boring if we were all like you Khod

PNE knocked £100 or so off and went from c8k to 12k, you said yourself the other day that we are the better club, so why wouldn’t we do the same?
(We need both).
Not to mention the nobbers had a real push with loads of volunteers hand delivering leaflets across the Preston Borough and neighbouring areas, they had a real sense of locality. We need a bit of a marketing and PR push like that coupled with a decrease in the price of tickets.

Football players ain't fit mate, not even close compared to other sports.
Christ a tennis match is more physically demanding and that's scientific fact.
Generally a tennis player will run about 4 mile in a men's match, with lots of sitting down and breaks while waiting for serves etc.
A good footballer will run around double that in roughly the same time.
I'd say the fitness levels would be comparable.
You trying to come across as a bit of a fitness guru mate?

Preston have confirmed they have sold 11.000 season tickets after their early bird offer finished this morning. Not bad for them. They seem delighted.
They had similar numbers last season top....made for a full stadium for a lot of the season.

Early 90s and they were one of the top sides in the country. Top 4 finishes, a load of cup finals.
Nobody would’ve believed that after relegation in 99/00 they’d spend a quarter of a century yo-yoing between the second and third tiers.
Hmmmm...could describe us soon enough

Exactly how I see it.
I agree too that Pirlo & Tugay were very similar, especially later on. I just got thinking about Pirlo because he was a number 10 until his early 20s before someone had the brainwave to move him deeper. I can see the temptation to get Wharton closer to the opposition goal, but I think you're right that he is likely to be more influential further back.
I see him more of a Foden type character when he fills out and adds upper body strength....gazza like, beating men and bursting into the box. No point wasting his talent sitting deep. We can get someone for a couple of million to do that. This lad is our route to promotion linking the midfield and forwards.

He came back and trained with us at some point last season, so we were definitely still in touch.
I'm not sure what the best course of action is for him.
Futsal that lad.

It looks like part of the reason that Farke is leaving Borussia Monchengladbach is because they don't have the budget that he was hoping for. If there's any truth in that, there is probably little chance of him being attracted to Rovers unless he'd be happy with selling our prized asset for a hefty fee to reinvest.
Then again, I think Farke is the type that we'd be after. It appears to be style and process (whatever that means) over substance. Here's what looks like a fairly common viewpoint from one of their supporters that I cribbed from somewhere:
"Don't know if I'm in the minority here but I'm glad Farke is leaving. I've never been convinced by him. People talk about his time in Norwich but I wasn't too impressed by that either. Yes we pass the ball around a lot but we are not incisive. We also don't seem to have a plan B."
Sound familiar?
Either way, I can't see him ending up here, but then again, I'm not sure his stock is that high since his days at Norwich. And that's starting to be some time ago, now.
2 promotions from this league 🤷♂️ recently.

Daniel Farke maybe coming available...could be a good replacement.

Looking back at the January window, I think it's become fairly clear that the club's administrative staff were at fault for not getting O'Brien and Brierley over the line. I know Broughton has said he shoulders responsibility for the window as a whole, but it's not his role to do the paperwork (
Why go having a meal and drinks in Manchester? Why not get him in the building, sign all the shit on time and then take him to the local Michelin star place about a mile from Brockhall for something to eat.

Pop my tin hat on. We've got a Director of Football who seems to have authority within the club. He may not be perfect but he is a footballing person. We have a strategy/direction even if some people don't agree with it. Broughton also hired a competent manager. I'd certainly hope he'd be able to do the same if and when JDT leaves. And the owners plug the financial shortfall.
This is by no means forgiveness. They destroyed our club. Yes it was nativity, but it was also wilfull neglect of something very important to a lot of people. There are no excuses at all!
Objectively though. Most the things I would want to see in place were done last summer. I want to see how this pans out. If they sold us, we could easily see a similar situation happening again, so for me, it's better the devil you know. If they visited, I wouldn't clap, but I wouldn't boo.
Broughton = Hirst / O'Brien Cock Up
We'd probably be in the play offs without old Greggy

Be interesting to see if and when we've approached them. Would be a good logo for the front of the top actually.

Not sure that would fly mate. I may be out of turn but them guys are from a Pakistani descent and our owners are Indian....not sure they'd want to do business together

Time to bite the bullet lads , Whiteman's contract ends in summer, perfect fit and midfield partner for AW. We are missing a bastard in the middle who will enforce.
Say what you want but I'm right Absolutely sure we can get him.
