so numbers wise with versatility we are ok but the elephant in the room is the quality in the numbers and to date (early days) it’s not been great

Quality and fitness. There's no point having versatility in the treatment room. JRC was often highlighted as someone who provided versatility in the squad but you could only have him in 5 game bursts before getting injured.

  2. With the variety of player brought in from obscure leagues, connections to kean and close relationship with Pasha it makes you wonder which agents may or may not have their feet under the table. Or Gestede is a recruitment mastermind with European wide knowledge

  3. I wonder how much we spend on hush money as a club? I get it if youre a lower level employee, we've all got families to feed and bills to pay, I just hope that one day they pick on the wrong person who then takes them to a very costly employment tribunal and / or goes public. They need to pick on someone like Glen who knows his shit, can back up his points and knows how to tread carefully regarding what can have him in court for liable.

Has anyone else seen glassdoor jobs where you can semi-anonymously review your employer. Might be worth some of our ex employees thinking about...

Madness to sell McTominay. He should've been their Darren Fletcher. Steady, high-performing, loyal player that the team or squad is built around.

And played with a bit of pride. What he lacked in natural ability he made up for in work rate. Man Utd fans had a snobby attitude to McTominay but he's what they need and is the complete opposite of what they've filled their squad with.

Maybe his reputation suffered from being paired with Fred for so long. Wasn't an inspiring partnership.

    In devil's advocate mode:

You can't (and don't want) authorities intervening because Clubs are being run badly per se. Clubs have be left to live and die (figuratively speaking) by their own mistakes or good management. It's only when their viability starts to come into question that the Authorities should intervene.

Manchester United were atrocious last season and finished way below where they should for a Club of that size. Does that mean the Authorities should have intervened?

I agree with this. The authorities should have stepped in when there was a stink of agents running the club. They should also be keeping a watchful eye on the court case situation but as yet we've not defaulted on anything. The fact that they keep pulling the rug from underneath anyone who gets within a sniff of 6th spot is just bad business but not illegal. The EFL can't come along and demand more of the Adam Wharton money be spent on transfers.

  6. Its one thing to push for a move but it gets to a point that as the buying club I'd not want that kind of character round the place for fear that he'll just down tools at any given moment.

Of course as Rovers fans it would be a novelty if there was a player willing to go on strike to join us.

A rather irrelevant point given the tragedy, but the modern game means players lack something of their game identity. Will we remember Diogo as a great winger or striker or an amalgam?

Couldn't  give you any more precision than "forward". But I think he'll be remembered as a great finisher. I know a lot of Liverpool fans, unfortunately, who said that on his day Jota was a better finisher than Salah. If you get a key chance in the 90+ who would you want on the end of it - they said Jota over salah (they said this before he died, its not some post death bias creeping in).
