I see the loss is now £30m a year. Just keeps climbing.

"By transitioning into a lower tier, the club can continue to support competitive football in a structure that is community-based and financially viable, "
Why do I get the feeling this isn't just talking about the women's team.

Can the football finance expert tell us when our benevolent owners last sent money over?

The same logic as "if we get £20m for Wharton we could reinvest that in the squad".
Scrapping the women's team is like finding tenner down the back of the sofa And it's going straight into waggots pension pot. The transfer budget will be unaffected.
That's all assuming it needs to come out of the same pot. It doesn't. The owners aren't skint and they're allegedly fully committed to the club.

I appreciate that you, along with Proudtobeblueandwhite and only2garners are a poster who genuinely has taken an interest in the Ladies team so I don't have any quibble with you being upset. The faux outrage about this from other posters who have never shown any interest is another matter.
As pointed out above the Under21s and youth teams provide players for the first team and funding for the club so nobody wants them to go.
The club is for everybody, not just the bits I'm interested in.

Outside FFP, owners committed to the club, no impediment to funding. Something doesn't add up as per usual.

The men's first team is not financially viable either. Close that too?

I'd prefer top 2 to get CL alongside winners of FA Cup and League Cup.
5th place getting it is just silly

It's no wonder our club is run how it is if that's the culture they come from. Absolutely batshit.

Flash hope and a lack of January transfers.

Was it 7 youth players to make up next seasons 25 man squad? If we're planning on going into next season with 18 first teamers we need to clear out all the sick notes first.

For the next four hours I'm going to pretend we're a normal club that will give it a right good go and I'll let myself get my hopes up.
However my head says a limp 2-0 defeat with other results going our way. BBD to score

people higher than the head coach are selecting who their head coach is based on different factors whether its style of play or people who will develop young players or fit the group of players they have at their club.
More likely how cheap they are and how likely they are to kick up a fuss against waghail

Also spent 60 Million in Agents fees....talk about Pigs around the trough.
That's probably about 500k per player signed.

I've noticed the "where we're the protests when we were doing well, you only protest when we're losing" has now transitioned to the "ffs we've won 4 in a row, backthe lads"

Trouble is they trot out the newbie to give the "we need to lay foundations and build slowly so as not to risk the clubs future" line - then when pushed they can say "I'm new, the previous seasons are nothing to do with me"
Someone needs to ask Waggot why he's been here 7 years and we're still laying foundations. Then ask him if he considers any of the previous foundation laying to be a failure on his watch. Same question needs asked of the venkys and suhail as well ultimately.

What an advert for future mangers.
"Come manage blackburn rovers, you've got to fill the team with youngsters - but not the good ones because anyone half decent will be sold"
"That sounds exciting, I like the idea of developing a young squad, adding value, selling them on and reinvesting to make the squad even stronger"
" we never said reinvesting....entitled prick"

Haven't listened to the podcast yet, but I'd like him to be asked how we are meant to trust him given how he forced his way out the club as a player.

He could do an hour responding to that podcast.

Some of the things being said aren't wrong - we need to be smart in the transfer market and we need to use the academy and ultimately we need to either produce sellable assets or take a punt on some rough diamonds from abroad to sell for a profit.
I think Broughton was sincere in wanting to do that and then wanting to reinvest in the squad. Rudy thinks £4m spent on £30m + of incomings is acceptable and we should be grateful that venkys put a match on every Saturday.
Broughton was sincere in wanting to get us premier league but pleaded for time when he first came in. Rudy has just said that there was no intention to push for promotion when we were sat in 5th. I thought pro athletes were meant to have a competitive and winning mentality??
You can debate Broughtons ability if you want but I never once doubted his sincerity to implement a Brighton/ Brentford model and get us promotion. Imo he was firmly on our side but had his hands tied behind his back. Again if you want to question his ability that's fine by me, but not his intentions.
Rudy on the other hand has just done an hour long podcast where he essentially said "Promotion? Lol fuck off. Why don't you morons be grateful that we even put a team out on a Saturday?"

I'm this situation I default to 'anyone but united'
Dire match though, I've had to take a break to caulk a window in the extension.
