It's not something new and has been in operation for some years now. Firstly the referee has to submit a report post match advising the FA that he hasn't seen the incident but on reviewing it admits that had he seen it be would have sent the perpetrator off. It then goes to an independent panel of three randomly selected from a bigger pool. The vote has to go 3-0 in favour of the sending off and, as in Madine's case it was so a three game ban kicks in. My annoyance at this is that the justice isn't instant and is usually of no benefit to the team offended against. Had Madine scored the equaliser on Wednesday we would be angry when he shouldn't have been on the pitch.

i know its not new - just you do not see it happen much in this division. Just wondering if we will start to see more of it. Thanks for the explanation of the process. Yes, its no use to us really and had he been sent off we could have gone on to win by more.

I saw both those - also failed to give Blackpool a penalty when your defender hauled their player down in the box - and this was in the refs direct line of sight. Also noticed a few cyclical fouls from your players to stop them breaking. Maybe VAR isn’t entirely the devil after all 😂

There is some justice int he world it seems.

Thing is - is this going to be a thing this season? Retrospective punishments?

Buckley can play several positions, he will be needed this season for sure.

The current competition for the places he can play may just be what he needs to up his game.

Basically he's a bloody good talented footballer who needs managed properly and now treated as an adult and not top boy in the class.

Yeah, think he needs a kick up the ass. Did all the hard work, cemented himself in the team but has not really kicked on this season. Probably felt it was job done - in the team now and a mainstay. Under TM it probably would have been. The emergence of Wharton is brilliant because it should give him that kick up the ass.

On performances, I don't see how he gets in our midfield right now. Certainly Wharton deserves to keep his place for the time being and Morton has played very well too and his loan will probably demand minutes too. Travis captain and the ultimate shithouser that all teams need.

Feeling positive at the conclusion of that window. Only thing I’m worried about is we don’t really have a decent alternative for Brittain at RB and I would’ve liked an attacker like Dembele brought in as I don’t know if Dolan/Markanday/Vale can be relied upon for goals.

I guess they’re problems that can be solved in January if needed.

My feelings exactly. Good window overall but two more in the positions you stated is what i would have wanted to make it an excellent window.

Though I agree - he is an injury away from it falling down like a house of cards. Look at Dack, lots of rumours of big money moves - and then he gets injured. At least he had a good contract to protect him.

And then the club was kind enough to extend that contract while he was injured. Not bad for two years of not playing that he still got paid. BBD is taking a big risk and I hope it doesnt play on his mind as we need him firing on all cylinders.

I hope you are not putting too much of a gloss on this signing although i understand you want to appear whiter than white.

We might have to say tatare to one on two in defence (out on loan), but they should accept getting pulled (its not like we are putting them to sleep, afterall). Anyway, I hope he shines, shows some wisdom, and has the gum-tion to know he has to work hard to get in this well-drilled team.
