I just think we have positions of higher priority atm, we are well stocked in central midfield, however we are lacking elsewhere. Would love to see foden come in, he's a very exciting player but only after we sort out deals for wide men and a striker. I also don't think we have any interest/hope of singing him.
-
No chance on foden, will have big wages and imagine he will stay with City, I also don't think he is who we need right now, need natural wide players and a quality striker.
-
Would be disappointed if we have pulled out of the Maddison deal. If he ends up somewhere else we will regret it. Both defenders that we were linked with yesterday would be good options for us in particular the lad at Barnsley. Really need to get a move on, need 4 signings in 10 days.
-
Just thought I'd mention that West Brom are apparently close to signing Harvey Barnes from Leicester, rumours are that it will be completed tomorrow.
They could still be but Mayby they arnt in for Maddison.

Only said we could get maddison and chapman for 3 million, not Armstrong aswell? Maddison has a release clause of 2.5million which can be paid in instalments over 2 years and I imagine chapman would cost 500-700k.

I honestly would only pay 1.5 million max for Armstrong, 3 million could be better spent elsewhere, for instance we could sign chapman and Maddison for about that.

Keep calm on the Maddison front. Things happening behind the scenes.
any news? I'm pretty sure we aren't in for him but if we are any info regarding what is happening behind the scenes on the deal.

So apparently we want a new centre half after loaning out Wharton according to the LT. I personally think we are actually covered there even with Wharton gone, but what is the point of loaning out a player which could have been useful in the squad and first team for it to then leave us short in the eyes of TM. Our budget clearly is low so why not save the money from buying a defender if we can just use some of our youth players. Doesn't make sense to me.

McLean has gone to Stoke for 5m so I imagine we will see in the upcoming days if West Brom were the ones who were close to signing Maddison as surely they would be able to now.

Either the cynics on here (me included) are going to be very impressed by the end of this window...or the glass half full brigade are going to be extremely disappointed....
This window and lack of action has the stench of Venkys-past all over it.
Agree. Its going to be an interesting 2 weeks.

Got no problem with him going out on loan, we've got enough cover there imo and he needs first team football. However why he was playing today I don't understand as other players could have got more minutes and also feel like he would be better off testing himself at a lower league 1 club.
-
Harrison would be underwhelming, would pass on him. However its concerning we're less than 2 weeks away from the window closing and we are about 3 high quality attacker who are first team players short atm.

Honestly would rather go for someone who is younger. We need to be building a squad which will challenger the top ends of the league in the upcoming seasons so the core of the squad need to be at a young age. Experience is alway needed but we already have DG who provides that.
Hugill would be my top target, however I imagine he is out of our reach.
-
Can't lie Bolton so FAR have done better business than us regarding transfers (besides Lowe ). No doubt about that.
However the extensions of contracts, in particular lenihan and dack have been impressive. Will judge the window when it closes.

Peterboroughs attention seeking bell end of a chairman has said on video that Maddisons clause is 2.5m (not 1m whoever said that), that 2 clubs met it but were trying to stretch the fee out over 4 years. One he was ready to go to a medical at until the snag of a player that team were selling didnt leave. If that was us I cant see who that player we were trying to sell would be. Maddison is back in training with Peterborough when they return from their training camp on Monday.
This rumour as much as he would be a good signing seems to have snowballed from absolutely nothing. I cant see us spending near that amount sadly. Hope im wrong. Same with Armstrong.
Completely agree. While I don't think the fee is too much I can't see us spending that much.
Also there hasn't been a mention of any of our first team players being close to leaving let alone for a decent enough fee so think that rules us out.
I imagine it's West Brom, apparently they are close to signing a unnamed winger.

Great news, if they had added another year to his deal that would of been even better but that's only me being picky.
well derseved and looking forward to seeing how he deals with the step up.

Peterborough United fans saying Maddison release clause is 1 mil pounds
Would he be worth that?
I'd happily pay 3 million if I am honest. Weird tho some people say his release clause in 1 million others say its 2.5million.

Not that I think we are in for Maddison, but the the bid from Derby was for Jack Marriot!
So were still allowed to have false hope then! Tbh im 90% sure it wont be us.

Relived to see kent doesn't seem likely to be signing, would of been underwhelming, feel like we should be aiming for better. Need to bring in players who will improve the starting 11 and not just squad fillers, although it is concerning me the lack of numbers and quality we have out wide and upfront. A couple of quality signings would help us build on the momentum from last season so next couple of weeks is so crucial. Guess we can just sit and wait.
Also for those like me who are hoping to see Madison come through the door, there chairman has said there will be an update today.

Wildschut confirmed at Bolton. Good signing. Goes to show that even those clubs without two pennies to rub together can do reasonable business in the market. What we're playing at who knows.
This really frustrates me we should of been all over that

In terms of loans don't think we should be looking at players unless they have first team experience.
We need wide players desperately, if I was TM id be looking to try and get 2 of Maddison, Harrison, Chapman or Wildshut.
Hugill is a great shout for upfront just think other clubs will be ahead of us for him. Gallagher and Bradshaw wouldn't be bad options either.

Hughill is reportedly available to loan from West Ham ,anyone think he would be a decent option to come in and play up front?Would imagine he is on a high wage tho
Would be a great signing, not a fan of loans to much but he would be a step above what we have atm, proven to score goals and fits the target man role. However imagine there would be a number of clubs ahead in the que.
-
We need 2 wide players and 1 striker minimum. At least 2 of those need to have pace and preferably be permanent signings. Fingers crossed that we can pull something out of the bag.
-
Hope I'm wrong but pretty sure we aren't the club in for Maddison, feels like loans are the main focus atm which is concerning.
Thursday deadline.

Anyone any ideas? Hope it's a perm rather than a loan
