Lose all sympathy for them when they just refuse to pay unwanted and players who have left money owed surely there should be some form of punishment for this behavior or can all clubs just do this now. 

We keep going on about pacy wingers but it would seem to me TM likes to play strikers out wide cutting in to give goal threats.

We play with one striker  and have Armstrong Graham Nuttall possibly Dack would work as a false 9 and Brereton looks like he's on the way. Where as smallwood does not look up to it and Reed is an upgrade on him so it's a good one.

Not really Reed improves our starting 11 as he's better than we currently have so it's in no way questionable. 

Aye its easy to write that story now knowing it's 4 months before anything can be done. Not sure how you get Dack and Madison in the same team either. 

He could do the Graham hold up roll or are we forgetting that's what we were @#/? on Brereton the other day for not being able to do this as we had no one who could if DG got hurt.

Need to get some players in now before the loan window closes we are down to the bare bones can't grumble about getting a point from 2 down with the injuries we have but how poor were reading and we nearly gifted them a win

I'd fancy that things like this have been looked at. 

So what are people suggesting we should give up on the deal and try and convince 3 clubs to loan us cheaper players instead of the manager signing the one player that he wants.

Not if you structure the loan to be permanent in Jan often a club has a number they accept for players it's about meeting it.

Means the only loans that will be available is big team u23 players, which won’t be for long term and no future fee agreed.

today was the day to make our squad ready and competitive and it hasn’t happened. Think a good few are clinging on to these fabled loans that won’t happen

 

Thats just not true if you meet the valuation of a player they will accept payment which ever way it comes it's often taken out of the hands of managers if a club meets the valuation of a player.

I agree that some players could step up but rebuilding a championship team with only league one players could  result in problems at Ipswich . 

If we are arguing you could say that Davenport played well at a higher level than Nolan ever has whilst he is 19 and Nolan is 26.

But it would not just be a loan would it you would pay a loan fee of what ever price and then the rest of the first part of the fee in Jan to make it permanent

Bottom line for me- we’ve had enough time to get deals sorted and we haven’t. That’s not hyperbole/overreaction/spitting my dummy out, just the cold hard facts.

Depends if our budget was upped later in the window seems to have been a shift lately. 

It all depends when the actual window closes say we want Brereton and negotiate with Forest till  deal is acceptable we could loan with a view to the signing becoming permanent in January for a fixed fee. This can be done with any player so the window is not actually closed.

patrickvalery: It's easy to forget our terrible last season. We looked pretty damn solid, especially after Christmas. Mowbray will tweak the squad and we will stay up, I have no doubt about that. But if Dack emulates his form from last season he'll be a goner next summer, along with Mulgrew and Armstrong too if he continues to progress. It's going to be an almost impossible task to gain promotion from the Championship and I'm starting to wonder whether this season will be our best chance in a while...

He's not Scottish. He is however proper  northern so the rest of that still stands
