  1. Obviously what you consider excellent and what I consider excellent are different, I look at football not from just an attacking perspective but also from the ugly hard work side of things and in that instance for me he was excellent, Mowbray will have been more happy with him from that perspective than anything he may have done against Sheffield Wednesday for example
  2. What do you think you have got in JRC? some need to calm down where he is concerned, he isn't the 2nd coming he is a young lad trying to make his way in the game, some expect these lads to be the finished article and ready to take on the world, but in the real world that's not the case, the way some think about young players is baffling to me, its the same with Buckley, give them time and be patient and you may see a decent player emerge, it wasn't long ago Ryan Nyambe was coping it from most, he is now showing 2 years down the line what he is about, if you want instant results your watching the wrong game
  3. He was taken off due to his head injury which eventually caught up with him, based on all the factors and the fact it was his 1st league start he equitted himself excellently in my opinion and showed more than anything he is ready to compete at this level, he also made and won more tackles than any other Rovers player, which should point to the fact how hard the team had to work defensivly to get the point and explain maybe why we didn't see to much of him going forward
  4. That's all well and good but you have to control the game from an attacking perspective for that to happen, yesterday once Holtby was taken off that wasn't the case for Rovers, it was dig in and see what we can get JRC showed Mowbray more yesterday than he would of seen from him before, as he showed he was capable of coping with that side of the game also he ain't a winger, why some think he is I don't know, he plays more like an old inside forward, he isn't like Chapman for example who is a winger Also a quick question did you go yesterday?
  5. I thought JRC did excellently, made more tackles than any other Rovers player the game didn't allow for him to get forward as much as he would have liked and added to this the head injury I think what he did pretty remarkable
  6. That was never going to happen just a rumour, he is looking to kick start the next stage of his career and he wouldn't have got that at Rovers, he would have been playing 23s football here and the same at Derby, he would have been better off staying at Motcombe than doing that He has now moved onto the next level of league 2 with his move to Salford, which is an excellent move for him, he is definatley one to keep an eye on though as he progresses his career
  7. All multi millionaires playing for top flight clubs wining things on a regular basis, I wonder how many would have hung around on £1500/week in league 1 when some one offers you 10x your wage and the chance (that granted didn't materialise) to play in the Premier League
  8. And How many were offered £14k/week to sign for Bournemouth? Mahony is a Rovers fan from a Rovers family when someone offers to make you a millionaire over the period of your contract unfortunately the fan in them gets put on the back burner
  9. Haha he nearly signed for them lot before Rovers stepped in, he had a trial their but didn't fancy playing in a cat3 academy and as soon as Rovers came calling with cat1 it was no contest
  10. He is and is a Man City fan he had a season ticket from being 6 and up to signing his scholarship with Rovers, he gave it up then as he had to ball boy at Rovers home games when Bowyer was in charge
  11. That was the answer I was expecting to be honest and I've done with you now to so like I said if nothing else it's been fun, You seem to think you're smarter than the average bear but really you're the one who knows nowt, the "I'm involved in elite football" quote you came out with previously said it all for me, youre involved in junior football so well done for that, but you also have an axe to grind against Rovers as I've stated before, so over and out Sparky thanks again for your amazing insite, into elite football haha
  12. I know for a fact at United you have to get permission from the club to play in town/County football, the reasons are it interferes with the coaching programme at academy level and it means kids pick up bad habits from limited unqualified coaches, at these town/County teams who haven't really got more than a level 1 coaching badge who think they're Klopp, any kid who does this or is allowed to do it that's at United will damage their chance at United, its their way or no way, so if I was you I'd pass this onto your u12s players parents especially the one at United, by the way what's his name and where does he train in the week? So they discourage their kids from playing in it, I never said they wouldn't let a kid do it but they don't like it and 99% of the time get their way You're not really up to speed with EPPP, so I'm going to leave it there, but if you could answer the two questions above that would be good thanks for sharing you're knowledge of all things academy related it's been fun, if nothing else
  13. I've just heard he's at Werder Bremen on loan currently elsewhere so your 2nd shout is sounding about right
  14. JRC is injured at the min so won't make the Birmingham game, he isnt as good defensively as Nyambe, but is far superior going forward, for him to be involved regular at right back would probably mean a change of system to play wing backs 3-5-2 or similar, it's not his favoured position, he is better in the middle of the park or wide or behind the striker, but is more than capable of doing a job at right back if and when needed
  15. I have been told there's a possibility that an attacking mid/ No10 from Germany (21 years old) is being considered for a loan move he was being shown around Brockhall yesterday, I have nothing more than that, don't have name or from which club, a bit vague but we shall see
  16. He's not going back to City, the emergence of Eric Garcia has made sure of that
  17. You are right, there is no point signing other clubs 23s especially when the 23s mentioned play in the division below ours Mowbray rates JRC highly, but he hasn't given him an opportunity yet, I know he has a small injury at the minute which has kept him sidelined over Christmas which has been unfortunate as he may well have got an opportunity with injuries to other players I have also heard that Middlesbrough are keen on taking JRC, they have asked about his availability in this window and if it was to happen it would be a permanent transfer, he is also wanted on loan by a host of L1 and L2 clubs, it will be interesting to see what happens when he's back to fitness, hopefully Mowbray gives him his chance
  18. Since the introduction of EPP There's a reason no Cat 1 academy players are playing for their county and town teams....... The club has to give permission and they won't give permission, they don't feel any Cat. 1 academy player will benefit from it as usually the coaching is limited to say the least and is taken by junior football coaches, teachers etc who aren't that great (no offence intended to junior coaches, teachers etc) Cat 1 academy players will train 4/5 times a week with games on Sunday and a training session on a Saturday morning, this is when the majority of town/county teams play, this doesn't apply to Cat 2 and Cat 3 academy's as they don't train as often and permission isn't required this is why you will see Burnley (Cat 2) and Preston (Cat 3) players involved in this level of football, it is very rare to see a Cat 1 academy player in these games and is the reason no Rovers youngster plays for the town or county, if they had one to play for So the level of town and county teams is well down on what they used to be and is why you have to go back to the time of Giggs, Scholes, Dunny etc to find elite players in these teams, it has nothing to do with scouting or hook ups with local teams etc, it's basically a non starter for Cat 1 players
  19. Wrong again Mr Elite Football They are the best, the best they have available, the others are on loan all over the place, but funnily enough non are in the Conference
  20. And you're totally missing the point.... Without that Cat1 status none of the scholars that are singed from the bigger clubs would have gone to Rovers, they would have taken their chances at Burnley who until recently were a Cat3 academy playing games against Carlisle. Chester. Wrexham, etc etc so yeah Cat1 is worth it even if you haven't brought a player through from u9 Which by the way not many clubs do, there are a few but most clubs bring in their best or future top players via other academies by poaching the lower cat academies better players because the can do that, why? Because they are cat 1 academy Not bad reasons to have a Cat1 academy I think
