  1. I've heard Rovers want £400k with plenty of adons Blackpool aren't to keen at that apparently
  2. He does have a position as an attacking midfield player or box to box which ever you prefer, but so did Trent Alexander Arnold, Ashley Young, Zinchenko, Wan Bissaka, Ashley Cole etc etc etc the now I'm not comparing JRC to any of these but the small list mentioned are just a few modern fullbacks who started out elsewhere, usually wingers or midfield players, the modern fullback now finds himself in the last 3rd of pitch and has to have attacking instinct and decent quality to deliver so understanding the game and other areas of the pitch is so important this is something not all players are sure about, this is why they struggle to adapt to different roles, the players with a decent game IQ are the ones who can play anywhere JRC is at the minute an attacking fullback as this is what he is being asked to do, the best players cope with the different levels he will make the step from u23s to 1st team easily IMO
  3. Don't just class JRC as a midfield player he can play anywhere and I mean it when I say it, (I don't know another player in League football who can cover as many positions) and I'm not talking just fill in but actually make it their own, he is a Swiss army knife of a player, he has taken TM by surprise with his adaptability and versatility and quality
  4. I think he's well down the pecking order at the minute IMO, he is with the 23s again today against Southport, so possible chance to shine and try to get back in, he is up against stiff competition, there are no free rides If the players aren't at it the young players are ready to step in TM has looked long and hard at Hart, Grayson, Butterworth, Magloire, Rankin-Costello, Buckley and he likes what he's seeing, Chapman, Nuttall etc need to step up or they will be left behind If the senior players go on a run like they did halfway through last season where they couldn't buy a win, TM knows he has the players at his disposal to step in and this time IMO he won't let a run like that drag on and the beauty of it all is the senior players now know there will be a young lad breathing down there knecks ready to take his shot when it comes if he doesn't perform
  5. Buckley, Butterworth and Rankin-Costello (JRC especially has had a few) will be going know where, I know all 3 have had interest in loan moves and all 3 have basically been told we want you to stay and try to get in the 1st team
  6. Tosin is waiting to see what else comes up, the window for loans doesn't close until 31st August, he's playing the waiting game, he and City will wait, he apparently has a slight muscle injury at the minute, the old slight muscle injury ploy hmmm
  7. Souter no better than Magloire or Grayson, In fact he is worse, a big lad who can defend but no real pace and not as technically sound as the two mentioned
  8. No better than Magloire or Grayson or Wharton for that matter, just because these lads are at clubs like Liverpool doesn't mean they should be preferred over Rovers own youngsters and Masterson falls most definitely into that category
  9. Yeah loan window for L1 and L2 is 31st August
  10. My team for Bury tomorrow Luitwiler JRC Niyambi Grayson Hart Gallagher Smallwood Johnson Rothwell Buckley Brereton
  11. To be honest I'm not sure, loan moves must benifit both club and player, if I was pushed I can see the the lads who've come through the academy all staying put and training with the 1st team, and getting game time as and when(I think Wharton, Platt, Nuttall, Lyons etc are most likely to go out on loan) if I was pushed with regards to loans with the 5 academy lads I would opt for Tyler, Joe Grayson and JRC, maybe, I don't think Buckley and Butterworth are ready for loans yet as any loan would be L1 or L2 at least and the physicality may not yet benefit them all this is just my opinion of course
  12. An excellent prospect and vastly improved, it goes to show if you do your homework as Rovers have done you can pick up some real gems from the other Cat 1 acadamies
  13. He will most likely go on loan once fit, (even if still injured as loan window shuts 31st August) maybe Burton again as Clough really rates him and he was excellent for them when previously there
  14. Some lads are not ready for the step u, I think Sam Hart maybe now, and I think having a crop of young lads like him around has benefited him greatly, I had him down as one who would leave permanently this summer, I don't think this will be the case now
  15. Some of you may know I'm not a Blackburn fan, I have a real soft spot for them through family connections and work I have watched the young players come through for the last 4/5 years (I watch more youth football than 1st team football across the board) and I can honestly say the group on the verge of making it into the 1st team are up there with best around at the minute, Butterworth, Buckley, Rankin-Costello, Magloire and Grayson could be the start of something special, add to this Travis who for me has to be up there as the most improved youngster in the football league, Joe Rothwell who has all the makings of being a £10mil pound player in a few years if used right, Gallagher, Brereton, Davenport, Nyambi, Lenihan, Hart etc all still the other side of 25 and it excites me, keep the faith and hope TM uses these lads right and the future is very bright IMO for Rovers
  16. He picked up an injury in Training last Thursday only an impact injury, he has trained as normal this week and will be back at Bury tomorrow in the right back slot
  17. Young side at Mansfield tonight, there's also a game against Macclesfield this afternoon My guess for tonight's team Fisher Rankin-Costello Magloire Grayson Hart Buckley Travis Smallwood Rothwell Butterworth Brereton
  18. I totally agree that certain players can be converted and your right im a bit young for your examples ?and it's happened plenty of times, but the player needs to be a certain type, it's not for everyone
  19. Some players need the game in front of them and Tyler is that type, he would be lost played further forward its all about game understanding and understanding your role on the pitch not many players can understand the different roles and positions, Reading the game etc and positional sense, in the different areas of the pitch he will have been playing centre half and right back all his life from u7 up, the speed is something that develops with age and its a great attribute to have as a centre half As far as crossing and finishing the ability side of a players game that's something that is natural to a player, a player has certain attributes, you can nurture them and make them better with practise obviously but I think it's a bit late for Tyler to become anything but a top centre half, which I'm sure he will
  20. From what I've seen pre season The formation will change in and out of possesion 442 out of possession, changing to 3421 in possession What I've seen so far is this, the right back or left back will get involved high dependant which one the other tucks around with the centre half's to make a 3, Dack is left to try and get in between the lines the interesting thing for me was Rothwells role he is asked to start wide on the left he is also expected to carry the ball if he can commiting players and pulling them out of shape if he can't carry he then tucks in narrow with Dack supported then by the 2 holding players the idea is to create overloads and outnumber the opposition in the midfield I think in these circumstances the left or right back then provides the width on the left or right if on the right the winger will get involved inside or create overloads which means which ever full back isn't involved high will make the 3 at the back When it breaks down revert back to shape 442, but it means which ever full back has got involved high needs to work hard getting back In with a bit of help from either of the holders
  21. Rovers pay good wages and some some players on £10k/week plus Trying to move players into L1 etc who are on this kind of money isn't easy as can be imagined so you're looking at Championship level and above and there won't be many takers for certain players who may be surplus so it's not simple moving players on
  22. Davenport can play left back to if needs be
