We haven’t got a batty/ savage/ JJ type player if that’s what your trying to say with that long winded post.

I just don’t ( hopefully) see us paying 8 million out right. That money seems ludicrous for what we’ve recently been spending. More likely a still very high 6 million plus add ons etc. Either way I agree a huge huge gamble but if it wasn’t a huge gamble for a finished article of young age imo would have to pay 15 million plus. ( gamble of return on dev of this lad. Liverpool nearly reportedly paid close already) I’d much rather club buy or pay wages of a released but proven veteran at say £ 2-3 million. Each year for 3 years. But no return. Rest of squad added value subsidies thus area etc.

I’d imagine it’s more of a case of Graham is struggling with fitness ( ice on knee etc) and will struggle to carry whole team all season on own.. especially as season progresses. Next year certainly so we need to look beyond as a club and plan a head. Re: strikers of DG mold. Big, direct, ball holder etc they don’t come cheap and 6-8 million these days is not going to get you the finished article but maybe potential of. He could be a bargain in a few years... anybody suggest a cheaper more promising alternative to fulfil DG role??? As I say don’t come cheap and TM knows this.

All very quiet. Not confident anything will be sorted soon.

Transfer Window - Success or Failure
markhayhurst replied to roversfan99's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Maybe just maybe that was the point. Quality loans from premiership with view to buy. Maybe just maybe TM was playing a game and showing that loan players at Ewood might be a fruitful option “and we aren’t skint”. Ie we potentially have fund to pay wages or make perminant. IMO we are therefore a more attractive loan option don’t you think?? -

marginally less disappointing than when thought venkys were giving a war chest. -
No but he will have drawn his financial line in the sand for what he will have deemed were our requirements. Looked at quality of squad against value available and then looked at potential loans offered etc. im sure if he felt it worked in our favour he would have bought. But maybe for the money available he felt the squad couldn’t be improved for the value offered.

Obv TM had a short list of players that he wanted to try and buy outright. Non came off. Why buy for sake of it at crazy prices if nothing crops up worthy. makes sense to hold out for loans with view to buy etc. Minimal signings today in general. Crazy system. Naturally disappointed as thought we’d get x2 through door today but expect more astute loans to be our preferred business model.

Would rule out chapman if case.

Harry chapman has just liked a one rovers post re: “The lads have to make our fans proud when they pull on the shirt. We want them to see they are playing for that red rose ?” Nice of him............

Has Travis just sent a coded message on his Instagram story. Reads ‘bye’

I thought this was a joke post but he actually exists.....

Ball winning midfielder for me and holding aerial threat striker. Evident against Ipswich we lacked bite in midfield

Ok so hopefully there are more signings to come before Thursday or a few loans thereafter. Adam Armstrong: great a signing and obv a fan/ squad favourite but a luxury we didn’t necessarily need as a priority above more pressing areas??? I.e a holding striker to relieve Graham, a natural winger, a hustler in midfield with legs even a left back. Let’s see what happens over the next few days (&loans) but right now though pleased we’re spending money and keeping a happy squad together I’m not sure Armstrong is our priority. How do we play him/ make most of him. Two upfront -not likely? Winger-not his position. Impact sub- luxury. Legs for Graham/ maybe but not one to shore up game/ hold ball. As I say happy to sign a fans favourite/ player with gd attitude but maybe we’d have been better paying more/ guarantee signings elsewhere. An astute signing or a panic/ guaranteed signing to please fans?? underwhelmed but happy.

Travis is shopping in Oxford ( Bicester village) today. These footballers don’t half like to travel.

Match Thread Ipswich away match thread

Williams found wanting. Midfield lack bite.Evans/ Smallwood simply not gd enough. nyambe standout player. Raya naieve At times. Mulgrue looked relaxed and assured. nutall did a job and held up ball well. palmer off pace of game and looked desperate to be on ball. Needs time to settle. Dack less than impressed to be substituted. Conway wrong move. Lots to be optimistic about passion certainty there. id say we need better alternative to Smallwood/Evans as a market priority. Bell to start over Williams. -
At 31 I guess a couple of seasons.

Playing it safe and simple. Will this translate onto the field

Great player induction videos posted by Williams on Instagram story. I use the word great in the loosest sense.
-
Press/sky not picked up on Armstrong yet. Not including you know who in press.
