  1. Neglected to mention Chapman too in the list of ballers.
  2. We don't just want DG clones, and they are increasingly rare. We have good footballers in Dack, Travis, Armstrong, Reed, Rothwell, Bennett. We can play on the deck, and should do more. Last few games we've put some very nice moves together.. There's more than one way to skin a cat.
  3. It's what the club will want a local journo to hear though when letting one of their best young players go for a pittance.
  4. Dunno about that, but I think he'd thrive in our team. It's not just all about long balls and holding it up, we need a different option and I think we're decent when it's on the deck too. We've created a lot of chances that BA would have for breakfast.
  5. Couple of good assists there for Chapman... for Britt Assombalonga. Pulis must be mad if he sell us these two when we're 3 points behind.
  6. Man from North East is spotted in North East. More at 11...
  7. Most people on here would hate him after a game anyway. He’s Jordan Rhodes with an extra yard. Can’t wait!
  8. Well just kick it in the net before he whistles. ? I can’t see that ruling anywhere and sincerely hope it isn’t the case. I don’t really want the rules of the game to be beholden to whistle-speed. If I’m wrong I apologise - but it would just be crazy.
  9. I’m trying to illustrate the problem of changing the timing of decisions dependant of context - it has to be when the “foul” is committed, no ifs, no buts. And he thought it was a penalty so gave it. Strangely, as VAR wouldn’t overturn a wrong corner call, doing that could have been MORE unfair.
  10. That’s particularly mind boggling. So if play is potentially going to continue after a foul is made then a new tip should be to kick the ball into the net as soon as you get a penalty. If VAR overturns the penalty you’ve scored! How can you not see the potential downfall of what you are suggesting? Play has to stop when the referee determines there is a foul.
  11. The ball is dead when the referee thinks a foul is committed. For example - your line of thinking could lead to this: Similar tackle, not a penalty but the referee thinks so, blows his whistle. The ball doesn’t go out but spins around the penalty area. Pleading and in frustration a defender picks the ball up. The penalty is overturned. But you would want another penalty as the restart! They’re not just making it up as the go along you know.
  12. It overturned a penalty that wasn’t a penalty. It’s not going to cook your dinner too.
  13. Suppose it is fairer. But the referee can’t tell you to contest/not contest, and surely the players would feel aggrieved at it being overturned... It might not be a good look to go in shin-banging but Wednesday could have scored from it, and would have stopped the opening goal. Need everything you can get at Stamford Bridge.
  14. Eh? He awarded a penalty and then reversed his decision. It’s literally the rules to have a dropped ball restart.
  15. It’s the rules chaps. I’d be more pissed off with my team not contesting the dropped ball.
  16. Oh good. Ha. Fuck Wednesday. Surely it’s written in the VAR rulebook though that it should be a drop ball.
  17. Play has to “stop” when the referee blows his whistle surely? It’s the only way football decisions can work.
  18. I hope he booked his train ticket in advance as prices go up on the day... he wouldn’t like that. BRING IT HOME STEVO
  19. Yeah but look at who was doing the ins and outs at the time. Pulis gonna Pulis. I don’t see why these kind of deals would be out of the question, loans with a view to buy if we went up. Nice to daydream anyway!
