So, we are now half way through what can only be described as a curates egg of a season so far. Perceived improvement in on field performances have not yielded the points the team have probably deserved for various reasons, mainly due to a lack of strength in depth, coupled with a crippling injury list.
To date, only the top 4 have won more games than Rovers, whilst only the bottom 3 have lost more, a statistic that perfectly sums up where we are as a team.
Of the 7 summer signings , only Sondre Tronstad of the permanent signings has really added to the team, to me he just pips Szmodics to player of the season so far, just down to his consistency of performance, he was excellent again yesterday. Sigurdsson has shown flashes of what he can do and I am pleased we have signed him permanently, Ennis I feel will prove to be a decent signing if he can stay injury free and get a good pre season behind him in the Summer. Leo to me seems to have the makings of a good keeper, but needs to cut out the odd mistake that has cost us. Telalovic we just don't know, could probably do with a loan away to get some game time and have a proper look at him.
Of the 2 loans, Hill has been a quality signing, albeit looking in need of a rest recently, while Moran, has ability but seems lightweight to me.
So there we are, a mixed bag as ever with this team. Better than last season though n my opinion without the results to prove it. Last season there really were some horror performances, notably Preston at home and Burnley away along with s few more where we just didn't turn up. This season. I can only think of Southampton last week where we were really poor and deserved what we got
Overall marks out of 10

Doesn’t surprise me he’s never been remotely popular at Ewood, not like St Anthony of Yarm who certainly was until the very end.
Apparently Sunderland fans were chanting his name the last 15 minutes of yesterdays defeat by Cov. 😄😄

Just read that. Devastating for him, hope his recovery is swift.
Puts things in perspective, but latest he's alert and talking. Second time it's happened, got to think about his health now surely

I've got a vague feeling Sigurdsson may play number 9. Hes got the physicality for it.
Elliott Jackson saying could be a surprise in formation so could be possible

Or not depending how the contract is written. This season he would be a bench warmer, behind Hill, Hyam and Wharton. Who knows what next season would bring. The main factor is, how is he at fucking about with the ball at the back ?
Didn't we buy Pickering from there and loan him back (I think).
Maybe do the same with this lad (if we are interested)

Center-half is one of the few positions we are reletively well stocked in, and you think with our budget we would be after signing another.
Wow
And one of the few where we could sell for a decent amount of money and make a huge profit .
That's were we are at the moment in case you hadn't realized

As we usually take short corners I don't think we will be inerested. If he was a 6ft 4 center-forward I would think we would be interested.
One of the main complaints about the team is a lack of height, yet we won't be interested because we only take short corners ?
Wow

Last 15 mins has just been non existent in terms of actual football being played, Wimbledon going down whenever they can to stop the game. Looks like a disappointing evening.
Best chance fell to Tyjon who blazed over the bar from 12 yards
-
Nothing too much happening. Probably the pick so far for me is Stritch
Tyjon also has something about him that I like, good movement and seems a clever player
Everything seems to start with Atcheson at the back who likes to stride into midfield with the ball, just guilty of one or two misplaced passes

Rovers fa youth cup game v Wimbledon live on YouTube now.
Fineran, Tyjon and Doherty playing

Hyam possibly back and on bench tomorrow according to JDT

With the squad paper thin and Southampton winning again, my head says we will lose but after another home win following a raft of away wins my heart says we will continue with our incredible away form..
2-3 rovers. Come on you blues!
They only drew last night 1-1 with Coventry.
Hopefully the extra days rest for us will be important
1-2 for me

Rory Finneran is the youngest ever player in a match day squad for Rovers.
Has he got massive feet or is it just the perspective of the picture? 😂😂
Looks a big lad for 15 tbh looking at the pic.and plenty of growth still to come at that age
That *was* the January Window

Actually think there's a decent player in Brittain, just that he along with most of the back 4 are going through a bad patch. Hyam looks like he came back too soon, Hill hasnt been the same player for a while and Carter also been off. Ironic that Wharton who was awful himself a few months ago has been our best defender these last few weeks.
Wouldn't argue that full back is a position that should be a priority, even over a striker.
Second worst defense in the league says it all
