  1. I’m an outsider to the English game, growing up in Texas. I grew up thinking football began and ended with the University of Texas Longhorns (collegiate), and the Dallas Cowboys (pro). I only came into Rovers’ fandom in the last 11 years.

This was well-written, objective, and one of the most enjoyable reads I’ve had on a long time. Not to mention, learning a great deal about Rovers & English footy history. You have made me an even bigger fan of both!

    Well-done, sir!

  2. Back to Leicester, they have almost nothing to be excited about, playing this game. If they play several starters, those guys are quality. Their reserves are better than some of our starters. If they play youth, those kids will try to impress.

I expect a strong effort from our players.
I don’t think we have much hope of getting a point, but if we do, we’re going to earn it.

  3. Let’s see…Rovers at home & home finale; Rovers playing for safety & pride. Coventry have essentially no motive to win- except pride.

I’m making no predictions on this one. Except, Sammie will score, & he gets a first-class send off by the Ewood faithful.
Sadly, any Rovers player who shows ability & fire gets sold off.

Trying to predict the outcome of games in the championship is like herding cats.

I’ve been watching football for the best part of 60 years and yet I have absolutely no idea how we or any of our rivals will do in these last two games.

    Yep, no way to tell.

I had a certain degree of confidence in Hyam & Brittain earlier this season; I hope each player recovers some of that confidence the last two games.

How crazy this season has been; watch us lose big vs Coventry, & then get a point at Leicester. foxes won big today, they practically have promotion nailed down.

I expect Leicester and Coventry to win their home midweek games.

Coventry will come to Ewood still in the playoffs mix and Leicester could be putting the icing on a title win at home.

I too expect no further points, hope 49 are enough and trust in the inadequacy of others.

    Not pessimistic, just realistic.

    If I'm wrong I can be 😊

Edit: the Leeds of last night would have torn us a new one.

Optimism sees the light at the end of the tunnel; pessimism feels the darkness all around; realism sees the train lights, coming right at you! 😬

I’m afraid we are in the realistic state of affairs with our club. I see no more points being won by this bunch of Rovers.

Funny you say that. I was saying today that this was my least favourite rovers side of the last 30 years. With the exception of a few (szmodics for example)  I find them a tough bunch to root for, and it's not down to ability for a lot of them.

The relegation side of 16/17 wasn't great but I certainly felt more connected with them by the end of the season then I do to this lot now.

Yes, I loved Mulgrew, Conway, & Graham; Wharton, Raya & Lenihan were up & comers. Shoot, Lowe & Bennett weren’t bad players.

Of the current bunch, there’s Sammie in a class all his own. I still appreciate Rankin-Costello, Wharton contributes, Carter isn’t bad, & Tronstad could be a piece of the future puzzle. Siggy, we need to see him fully healthy. I think Travis wants out. I’d say “no” to re-signing Gally & Dolan. Hyam, Pears, & Brittain truthfully, I don’t think thryre interested in playing for Rovers anymore.

  7. Before the game unfolded, I thought a scrappy point today against a desperate foe was the only point we would earn the rest of the season. But I thought it would be enough to keep us up, on goal diff.

Now, I cannot see a point in the final two. What happens to us after the finale at Leicester? We’ve truly a broken, poor lot of players, and certainly will lose our very best.

In the immediate future, I’m afraid we’re in for some dark days, darker than we’ve experienced to date. It will certainly test our patience and resolve as fans, some, whose perseverance has already reached its limit.
