  1. I will say this; even though I voted to keep him now (& reassess at season’s end), even if Blackburn wins the next three, he still needs to be evaluated at the end of the season. The only thing that could change my mind is if he clearly loses the team. Who knows, after the next three, things could change, horribly for the worse; I sincerely doubt they will change appreciably for the better.

Besides, our best chance of getting the manager we need will be then, not now. It might be Johnson, but let him start fresh.

I really don't get this school of thought, which many on Twitter are peddling too. Why give him to the end of the season? What evidence is there to show he'll turn us around and get us competing at the right end of the table? I have seen more than enough to know he needs moving on.

He deserves at least that much as a courtesy.

Losing arguably our two best backs, it takes time to replace them. Besides, nobody worth his pay is going to come in at this point, without Cunningham & Lenihan, amd precious few who can score.

Johnson? The club knows we’re teetering on the brink and things could turn into a hot mess (particularly, after our next three matches... I’m not seeing any wins, so I’m sure the “sack Mowbray” chant gets louder). I do not think they want to throw this mess at Johnson’s feet, it’s that simple.

  3. I’m relatively new to the game (a Texan, & Rovers fan for six plus years), so some of you who are more knowledgeable students of the game than myself, please tell me, what is Mowbray’s specialty?

is he good at setting up his offense to score?

is he good at devising defenses that keep other teams out?

is he a great motivator, or evaluator of talent?

Because I’m not seeing any of the above. I know the guy must have something going for him, as he got M’bro & WBA promoted, and then us, but what exactly does this guy do well?

  4. I would have preferred, “other”, on list of options. However, Ainsworth would be an intriguing choice. He could be a bust, but he could be just what the doctor ordered- a fan got the Rovers the PL trophy, maybe a fan could manage them well?

  5. I love the poem. I am a new Rovers’ fan (2013). Here in Texas, I used to get FA Cup matches, which is where I first saw Rovers, vs ManC at Ewood, in a 1-1 thriller. Dann, Cairney, Rhodes, et. al., were exquisite players in the Blue & White. Sadly, not seeing players of their caliber now.

Bennett, DG, & Downing should be our most consistent players, simply due to age & experience. I’m not sure why TM bet the farm on the young guns up front (yes I am- that nastiest of all words, potential); so far it hasn’t worked out, & frankly, if it doesn’t soon, I think TM will be out, & some other poor hapless wretch will have to start over.

Today, I would gladly take a point- we’ve got to start somewhere. M’bro aren’t the class of the league; they can be had, but right now, we’re out of sorts and it’s hard finding 11 who are playing consistent enough to throw out on the pitch week after week.

i want to see Rovers start moving up from 24th. A point today probably won’t do it, but it’s a point we don’t currently have.

  6. Have we helped our defending? No.

Have we helped our scoring? Yes.

Theres gonna be some high-scoring affairs this season, we will score in bunches possibly, but the better defending teams will have their way with us. Schedule-maker was nice to us in giving us a winnable opener, so, 2-1.

Many teams have exceeded in this league without the financial might that other teams have... Due to exceptional management. Tony Mowbray is a nice fella but by no means is he an exceptional manager at this level. If you can't see the points return from the last available 30 points and know that there needs to be a change then its just blind loyalty, pure ignorance or both.

I am just being honest about our plight. Who out there is available as manager that would improve our situation, as an evaluator of players, or from a strategical point of view, that we could get? If the owners don’t pony up 20 mil, 30 mil in additional debt, I don’t see a new manager being the answer.
