Rovers were competitive vs. Fulham... a strong side, with the best scorer in the Championship in Mitrovic.
I expect the team to be the same vs. Hull. Defending wasn’t bad at all. Sans Dack, Holtby, & Rothwell, scoring will be difficult. I see no reason to play Gallagher. Give the other youth a try.

First of the interesting home games to come before the end of the season, which should not only decide any playoff ambitions, but also go a way to showing how competitive we'd even be if we managed to sneak into the top 6.
Saturday - Fulham (3rd)
*Then after Hull (14th) and Stoke (21st)*
29th February - Swansea (8th)
14th March - Bristol City (6th)
4th April - Leeds United (2nd)
13th April - West Bromwich Albion (1st)
Yes, very tough scheduling the rest of the way. From those seven, with the injuries we have, I could see us get eight points, no more. If we get Rothwell & Holtby in a reasonable time, maybe more.
TM certainly has his work cut out for him.

Corrected for you, OJR!!??
I've a soft spot for Fulham - the first match I remember my Dad bringing me to at Ewood in 1953 - and, at the start of the season, I thought they'd be pushing the top two harder than they are.
I think that, despite the Teesside Tinkerman, we can win this one by either the only goal, or the odd one in three. Our back four will have to keep a very close watch on Mitrovic, though.
Nice memories, m1st!
i would be elated with a point vs Fulham- I know it’s at Ewood, we need 3’s, not 1’s, etc. it’s still a top side, with top talent. We’re a beat-up squad, struggling to find a healthy 11.
2-2, Cairney gets one, assists the other. Out of all the players we lost the last few years, he’s the one I miss most.

We were really fortunate to get a point today. M’bro dominated the last 20 or so minutes. Still, we’re 7-5-2 in our last 14. Not bad, I reckon.

I am encouraged by the 1st half. I like our subs, too.

Very satisfying win today. Great team effort, and Mowbray has to have a huge, sloppy grin on his face!

Not sure if it has been said, but I hope Mulgrew gets a good reception whenever pulls the jersey on again.
Agreed.
It appears he’s not fit for this one.

A point is a point. At times, it seemed like Rovers would take all 3.
But in the final result, we score early like always, and then have to fight like two possums in a sack to keep the point.
Future schedule is tough, as well.

Agreed, Wood26, this is a huge game. I don’t care what is said about this not being a rivalry. PNE has owned us in recent years. A win does so many things- not only do we defend our house, but we can breathe a bit easier for another year.
Without dingles or Bolton on the schedule, this should be the most anticipated game of the season.

It will take a remarkable turnaround to get all 3 points vs PNE. When we were soundly beaten at QPR after losing Lenihan & Cunningham, it took Tony a few games to get the squad squared away. The 5 games after QPR, we took only 4 points out of a possible 15; the next 8 games, we took 18 out of 24, only allowing 5 goals in those 8.
Losing Dacky is a terrible blow; but TM’s history suggests he is capable of righting the ship. But, the games don’t get any easier after PNE, either.

Don't forget the new narrative lads.
Mowbray needs to be given to the end of season.
Mowbray sat down apparently.
Unbeaten in 8, then we lose Dack. He should have to the end of the season. Who can replace him without Dacky and do any better?

I won’t pass judgment until we see some play; it’s unconventional to say the least, but if Tony makes no changes (other than forced ones), some would say he’s stale, predictable, etc.
The guy will get the back of the hand, no matter matter he does. He deserves some credit for 16 pts in the last 21, when most everyone was sizing up new managers by Boxing Day.

Start Holtby. Evans stays in the 11. Get as many minutes as possible from DG and Downing; if they are knackered, Armstrong & Bennett. Not a great many other options.
Tony may surprise us!

Armstrong assisted DG’s goal... he’s sometimes useful, but remarkably inconsistent

I’m really pumped about our squad and recent form. Even without Graham and/or Downing, a draw would be nice, a win would be cause for dancing in the streets.
Time for Rovers to make history at Liberty Stadium!

This team is rolling. Tony has it figured out, his personnel decisions have been so wise.
Barring injury, the same 11.

I would focus more on the fact he has been immense in the last 3 games
I have no problem with Evans, except we lose him at some point for YC accumulation.

We have a great chance to get all 3 pts tonight; terrible disappointment if we don’t.
Btw, Waco weather is very similar to Blackburn’s right now.
