Until we are mathematically eliminated from playoffs, he won’t play the young guys.

Travis starts!

I have an acquaintance here in Texas who was born in Leeds and a big fan. Last season with 4-5 games to go, I said to him, “well, y’all finally promote this season”, to which he replied, “you haven’t followed them like I do. I will believe it when it happens.”
He was right! -
Long list of 1st teamers out today, while Travis is looking at fitness. If everybody else is out (Evans, Bell, etc), but we can get Travis, might be all we can reasonably expect.

Brown cow on Livesey Branch road
Thanks, on my return trip I will have to “put in” at the Brown Cow. In Reading, I had a pie & a couple of pints at Sweeney & Todd’s.

You must have walked in the wrong direction as there’s Blues Bar in the Blackburn End, The Fernhurst right outside the Darwen End, Ewood WMC outside the Jack Walker stand, and about 6 on Livesey Branch Road (the hill going away from the ground).
I was there on a Monday for my tour; Jenny said that’s the only day Blues Bar is closed.
I left the day before we lost to Luton; so, the only game I got to see while there was @Reading, a 2-1 win. Arma & Dacky scored! -

What pub do y’all go to in Blackburn on game days? When I visited in September, I didn’t see a pub near Ewood.

glad we can keep a sense of humor in the face of adversity.

JHRover, I respect the point you make about money, but did you really mean to cite Coyle, or someone more recent? Enough said...
I have steadfastly said to give Mowbray until the end of this season before a decision is made. After all, we are in a higher place than last year, with our best player on the sideline. He’s got 6 games to show us he’s up to it. For all we know, he wins two or three of these, and gets a couple of ties. Would that be enough for me to hope Mowbray returns? Ask me when it happens. I’ve still got a sour taste in my mouth from identical 0-2 scores to the 17th & 24th teams in the league.

Last chance saloon for Rothwell til the end of the season.
I don’t think this is possible for rothwell, based on our lack of options. If he’s fit, he plays.
I will be glad to eat those words, if you can persuade me otherwise. -
I’ve never spent $1 on betting. Moreover, I don’t think I could bring myself to bet against my club. But if anyone can, and make money, more power to them. It just seems to me rooting against my club so often would destroy any love or allegiance I have for the Blue & White.
-
Anything can happen, and Frankly, I would not be surprised by any result. Mowbray needs a win badly to counter criticisms of our last two. The players need to play smart, eliminate silly mistakes, and finish better.
2-1. -
I hope they can bounce back.
I don’t want this to happen to any club. First bury, almost Bolton. I do not want to see the EFL dwindle down to a few dozen clubs.

thats the big problem wacorovers, chairman and manager are best of mates, the owners don`t have a scooby do,the only way mowbray is leaving is if he decides to retire or resign(unlikely,as he`ll miss his severance cheque)
That’s really disappointing. I can only hope something is done before the club is destroyed. If the fans are all turned off (I know many of them have already had their fill of disgust and won’t buy tix), those running the club in the ground will regret it, alas, probably too late.
We the fans are the ones who are left to suffer- ala, Bury.
My experience getting tickets to the Reading/Rovers match was a turnoff- I finally had to go through Reading’s ticket office. They were pleased to accommodate me, I was never able to get them through Rovers. If I hadn’t been treated so well by Rovers staff when I had my tour at Ewood, I might’ve been convinced nobody at the club cares. As it is, it seems the hourly wage people, fans, and common folk like me and you here are the only ones who still care.- 2

Abysmal.
We're an absolute shambles. A squad with more deadwood than actual potential, a manager who is inept beyond comprehension, an astounding ability to play football without any effective tactics, an executive level who either haven't got a clue all this is happening or are the reason it is happening, and all the while an air around the club as if life doesn't get any better than this.
It's so frustrating. You know straight off the bat three things will happen in our games at present - 1) we'll have a wealth of chances we don't convert, 2) we'll concede some piss weak opener, and 3) we'll have no response, and if anything will actually implode. Quite how Samuel missed so many chances so glaringly I don't know. Quite how we have so many strikers at our disposal, yet only two of them are ever been prolific (even one of them - DG - is on the turn now), I don't know. Quite how we go from playing absolute blinders one week, to looking as if we have never met the next, I don't know.
The sad fact of the matter is that the only reason everyone else and I get so frustrated is because we care, to whatever degree. You look at their social media profiles and everything's rosy, having a laugh and messing about. You look at Mowbray churning out excuse after excuse. You look at those high up obliterating everything that made me fall in love with this club. None of them give one. Players will move away to elsewhere, the exec likewise, Mowbray will get a nice amount in his coffers for a rainy day and Venky's won't even clock how much they've spent.
It is the hope that kills you. After Bristol City I thought maybe, just maybe, we might get somewhere. We've been in this position so many times and have always made a hash of it
There is a lot to unwrap here; let me say as someone who has lived his whole in Texas, and largely ignorant of this game that I now love, and team I love, I chose Rovers as my club 7 years ago and I do not regret it. But I get very discouraged by what I see on the sideline and on the pitch. I can also say England doesn’t have a monopoly on excuse-makers and do-nothings. I do not have a history with the club near as long as most of you. But I am just as eager to see new successes and things to shout about as a Rovers fan.
I am glad Tony got us promoted, but I am doubtful he can do it again. More than that, his personnel decisions have cost us dearly in the pocketbook, and could sink the club to League 1 irrelevancy again.I still hope the powers-that-be with Blackburn Rovers wait until the end of the season, but at that time take a good, hard, look at Tony and his staff. He has chose the way this club should go, and all we’ve got to show for it are guys whose best days were 6-8 years ago, or kids whose flitting promise appears to have dried up at this level of competition. Guys like Dack, Travis, Arma, Nyambe & Lenihan deserve better in their future.

It's a results business.
I'm not interested in TMs post match comments. If you can't get a result playing bottom of the league you're not worth listening to.
I understand an occasional dreadful game, by any club. But two in a row? It’s happened far too often. I agree there’s nothing he can say about losing to two catfish teams.

Show me an unemployed manager right now, we do not want him. I have said all along that Tony deserves the end of the season. At that time, assess his progress (or lack thereof). But, these last two have left a bad taste in my mouth.

Sorry, I don’t enjoy losing. We’ve lost enough. We can still win this.
-
Sadly I am losing any amount of compassion or understanding that I may have had for Tony. He said in the Telegraph today that he will play Armstrong because he’s our best chance to to score saying “I’m not stupid.”
I never really thought Tony was stupid, I just think he’s stubborn. I guess he will show us today -
Interesting. Huge opportunity for Tony to show genius tonight.
-
I think we can pretty much forget about the playoffs. But, I do want to see how Rovers respond when they play the next four, all teams ahead of us on the table.
I just read Tony’s comments on Sam G & BB in the Telegraph. Apparently, SG just isn’t selfish enough, lol. He has to justify the expense of these two somehow. I expect he will do so until all three of them are finally shoved out the door.
-
We haven’t had an answer at left back in awhile. I wish TM would surprise me (& others), and pull a left back out of his hat.
Meanwhile, dingles are at Palace today. I hope ol’ Roy’s lads give ‘em a good thrashing.

Massive fan of Davenport thought he looked tidy and should be starting in a midfield 3.
Shocked we signed Chapman and never play him.
We CANNOT play wide Strikers and we also CANNOT play Bennett LB.
Chapman has roughly a year left on the contract he signed. He’s played 17 times, scoring once.
tony, why not give him another go?
-
Play the best 11 available. IMO, this means no Bennett, or Gallagher. That’s right, sit the Cap’n on the bench. Play Armstrong & Holtby, for sure. Downing at left back. Williams, if he’s fit. Brereton showed a lot of interest & hustle. I would bring Samuel off the bench before SG, probably before DG, as well.
At DF- Nyambe, Lenihan, Tosin, Williams (if fit), or Downing. No need to play Bell, even if he’s fit.
Gotta put our best on the pitch this week, and hereafter. However, I believe the playoff dream is over, it’s certainly done if we can’t get all 3 pts at Barnsley.
