  1. Do you have an idea of the wages Downing has been put on?
  2. And we're entitled to say that a few weak performances two years ago don't define a career.
  3. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11768780/brighton-goalkeeper-christian-walton-joins-blackburn-on-loan
  4. I don't see why we are bothering to bring in Eastwood when we have The Canadian. To me he is no upgrade as a backup goalkeeper and will only drain our wages.
  5. Yeah, message-boards tend to deteriorate during summer because people have nothing to talk about; it's made even worse when there is a transfer drought. Having said that the juvenile bickering is unbelievable. I think the cause of it is that when people see opinions they don't like and post a sarcastic, passive aggressive reply instead of either ignoring it or trying to have a civilised discussion.
  6. Well Charlie Adam scored twice in the friendly so a contract could be back on the cards.
  7. Yeah fair enough. My point was we have three mediocre left-backs and only one mediocre right-back, making signing a new right-back a bigger priority.
  8. Well he is only young and did well on loan last season. Admittedly when I saw him in league 1 he looked lightweight and out of his depth but he's had time to improve since then.
  9. I agree with this mostly. I think the plan this season is to stick with Bell and Williams at Left-Back and give Sam Hart some games after his successful spell at Southend and by the looks of it a good pre-season. For me this means we definitely have to sign a centre-half and a decent right-back to put pressure on Nyambe.
  10. Yeah fair enough, I just think Williams is a better player to have because he can play center-half. Mowbray appears to have high hopes for Sam Hart at Left-Back so hopefully he has a good breakthrough this season.
  11. I have no idea why Bell is immune from criticism, I think he's worse than Williams. Edit: perhaps not immune but he always seems to ranked higher than Williams which I never see as fair.
  12. Rothwell were wonderful tonight and he's finally off the mark with that goal. Surely Mowbray has to give him a run in the starting 11 now.
  13. He were always controversial and pretty annoying but he did start a lot of different conversations. This thread so far has gone through small periods of transfer speculation and then reverted back to arguing over Brereton.
  14. I've been away from this forum for a while, what happened to Chaddy?
  15. I reckon the money would have been paid at the time we signed him. The whole loan until January thing just seemed to be a formality to get around the new transfer rules.
  16. I did attend the Reading game and as I sit in the Riverside stand I only got a proper look at bell in the first half, in which he was dreadful.
  17. Bell is not good enough in my opinion. Palmer in for Armstrong then. Perhaps your right about Smallwood.
  18. Connor Whickam from Crystal palace according to Nixon.
  19. Dack close to new deal http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/07/06/por-dack-agrees-new-rovers-deal/
