  1. I'm hoping we'll get a new goalkeeping coach with the new manager. An ex-professional instead of someone who couldn't make it at Carlisle. Even back in the days of Raya he would make the same sort of mistakes like kicking it into touch five times a game and being noticeably weak against shots that came across him and it never seemed to be coached out of him whilst he was here.
  2. Not exactly Rovers related but I do think it's quite an important occasion in English Football.
  3. Farke is holding out for a top flight job that he probably won't get given his lacklustre record in the premier league. I think the fact that it would be a great appointment for us probably rules him out of actually coming here given our owners. I guess we can only speculate (i.e. guess) but it seems that Carvahal is keen to take a job in England again and Hughton is probably interested in finding a club to restore his reputation with after his poor spell at Forrest. I have reservations about these two but I wouldn't immediately write them off either.
  4. Rothwell isn't a loss especially with Dack coming back to fitness. Sure he could take it round a player or two but he'd usually get too excited and run into a third. Very seldom did he get his head up and make a great pass or get a good shot off which is a shame because he got into some great positions but then he'd waste the opportunity which is reflected by his goal and assist count. 'Flatters to deceive' will be his legacy here I think.
  5. haha must be mistaking them for another side, nevertheless he wouldn't be up there for me, seem to remember the rot had set in for Derby under him although on the other hand it could've been a sign of the troubles that were coming for them.
  6. Cocu's derby County was a very very poor side, we beat them 3-0 here iirc and they were probably the worst team to come to Ewood that season. Clearly I'm not alone in my judgement of his managerial ability because he was sacked shortly afterwards and hasn't managed a team since.
  7. Anyone have any idea what happened with Harry Chapman, looks like we gave him a new contract last season to save face about forgetting we didn't have an option to extend his contract. What a debacle.
  8. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/blackburn-rovers-website-launch-ifollow-20696519 best change of the summer so far
  9. I think he managed a handful of games for Middlesbrough in the premiership
  10. It's Nixon so take it with a pinch of salt but if it's true then Pears truly has been a pointless, jobs for the boys signing. No doubt our new number two will be another Teeside waster.
  11. I wonder if we'll have to stump up some cash to Forrest if Brereton gets some international caps for Chile
  12. Rumour has it, and it is just a rumour, that we've triggered the extension to get a transfer fee.
  13. Rothwell's drawback is his end product so it was more than a little bit jarring to here Mowbray slating him interview after interview for his work effort and his tracking back which I think is superb.
  14. Very true, we'll get somebody but with Tony still here we won't go anywhere sadly, even if our new striker is Mbappe
  15. Absolutely but I still reckon without Armstrong we'd have been battling to stay up on the final day this season. I guess it was Mowbray who brought Dack and Armstrong in but he is also responsible for all wasting money on Gallaher and Brereton as well as completely mishandling all the other players and sending teams out with no identity. I really hope he's going soon but I fear the next manager will have a uphill battle to et us in to play-off contention without Armstrong.
  16. Before Dack got injured I remember talking to some fans who thought he wasn't up to the championship level. That was rubbish and since he was injured I do think we've missed him as a creative outlet in the centre. His loss was only softened by the fact Armstrong stepped up to the crease and yet some fans seem convinced he's a liability because he's a bit greedy but who is he meant to pass it to? Gallagher, Brereton? I think some fans can be a tad bit ungrateful to our players when they are clearly the difference between midtable and relegation which is where we'd be without Armstrong imo
  17. The way I see it we'll need a new winger to replace Elliot, another centre-half again to compensate for the flaky legs of our current ones, new central midfielders, a new right-back depending on Nyambe and JRC's contracts and probably a new striker although I'd like to see someone step up in that position.
  18. #Rovers are delighted to confirm the arrival of rising star Taylor Harwood-Bellis on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season.
  19. I think people on here have failed to grasp that the point of the loan back wasn't that Pickering 'wasn't ready for the championship' but that Crewe didn't want to lose a key player mid-season. If we didn't agree to the loan back there would have been no transfer and we'd have to risk losing him in the summer.
  20. Apparently more loans for youth players are on the way. Thomson and Magloire going and Tom White coming back. Edit: Jack Vale may be loaned too!
  21. Joe Grayson on loan to Oxford United.
  22. Happy to have this one confirmed, thought we'd lost him earlier in the window.
  23. Match Postponed due to waterlogged pitch 😞
  24. I have never seen a single person on here praise Douglas and Trybull, quite the opposite in fact.
  25. If Fisher was going to leave and Stergakis wasn't ready for the first-team then we should have signed an old-experienced keeper on a free for maybe a season. What we shouldn't have done was spend £300,000 on a piss poor keeper and hand them a four year deal.
