  1. Who knows what the point of it is to them? If you want the job, find the cash to buy them out and give it a crack yourself pal? Im not saying I don’t want exactly what you want. But I also see the risk in in ‘going for it’ not getting promotion and then paying the price. How would you feel if we spent £10m, missed out on promotion and then had to lay off 50 staff in the summer? These are the risks and conversations that will be ongoing…
  2. Mate….they’re £200m in. £200m!!!!! They haven’t made a profit on anything. AA cost us £3m, has cost at £1m a year In wages for four years minus the 30% from Newcastle and the P&L is probably saying £7-8m profit from an overall investment of £200m. Of course we hope they’ll keep pumping £20m a season in, write off the £200m and reinvest all our player sales cash into the squad…but we can’t EXPECT it! Please, let’s have some context.
  3. If love nothing more. I want us to capitalise on our position and I hope we do. But I feel disempowered to demand our owners pump £5m in addition to the £20m per season and £200m overall investment because I can see that like them or loathe them….they spent a lot of cash already. Lets hope and pray that we have a great window 🤞🏽
  4. Someone is getting sold this month!!
  5. Yeah, was a strange comment from @K-Hod. My stance is pretty much the same as every other I’ve read on here. I like Nyambe, he’s a decent Championship fullback and I’d like him to stay….but, of the three who are about to be out of contract, in my opinion, he is the least skilled, least impactive, holds the least value and is the easiest to replace. There’s many many wing backs out there who can do the same / more than him and won’t break the bank. Now I appreciate that this opinion won’t be shared by all but I’m unsure why it would infuriate them. It’s not unreasonable. Back to transfers in…looks like some might be fairly imminent. Anymore on the radar now other than Zeefuik, Souttar, Hedges, Burke and the Leeds loan winger?
  6. Interesting that when Mowbray was pushed in his interview re transfers he said words to the effect of…. “It’s just about finishing them (transfer deals) off” - as if we had them all lined up.
  7. No, never seen him in my life. But I’ve seen enough of RN to know we’ll replace him VERY easily. Don’t get me wrong, he’s decent. But that’s it.
  8. If you genuinely think you’d pay Ryan Nyambe in-line with the top earners at the club then it’s time to just close this convo down. You’ve either lost the plot or you’re his agent! The post from 1864 is measured and believable. It’s not a million miles off what SW said to me after the Sheff U game. As oppose to your love in, Nyambe ramblings. Can we just agree to disagree?
  9. Because the other two would be REALLY hard to replace and have a high resale. So we see the value in paying them more….whereas Nyambe is a decent Champ defender and will be replaced easily prob by this Zeefuik. Its not difficult this.
  10. I don’t think we’ll sell him to Bournemouth - would be promotion suicide
  11. Really? I didn’t think Pickering was that much better but if you say so…👍🏼
  12. Why are you assuming there’s a huge disparity? You’re just literally guessing and then passing it off as a rational conclusion. I accept that the deals could be unrealistically low and that this is the reason they haven’t been signed…. What I’m asking you to consider is that the contract offers are really good but that the players and their agents are being greedy. It’s as possible as the former but seems to be being missed by most. You’re intelligent enough to understand that.
  13. I’m not sure….reading between the lines, he wants more money. None of us are privy to what those numbers are and the difference between parties. I also wonder if there’s a point where us as the fans stop beating the club up. It’s not like we haven’t made an offer to him or the others. The fact that the deals remain unsigned may very much be down to the players, not the club…
  14. No, he plays because he’s the only RB at the club. When JRC was fit, he was favoured and he isn’t even a natural RB.
  15. Firstly, the vast majority of our squad would get ‘mauled’ in the Premiership. Having watched Nyambe be pretty much inconsistent for years I’m content that Adama Traore, Mane, Son, Martinelli and co would feel confident against him too 👍🏼
  16. I really like Pickering. But I think JRC is the best of the bunch at wing back, IF he can stay fit.
  17. He’ll be the best wing back at the club IF he can stay fit. Perfect position for him really and he’s shown to me that he has much more ability than Nyambe or Pickering. His fitness is the only real concern.
  18. Argh mate, this coming from you? 🙈🤣
  19. I’d sell Nyambe for £3m if he had 18 month on his contract!! 🙈🤣🤣
  20. Imo there’s only Newcastle we should worry about re BBD. They’ve got the cash to break Venkys. Ive been saying for around 6 months now that DL and JR will potentially take some replacing externally (think Buckley could replace JR in time)….but genuinely I don’t think it’d take much over £500k to replace Nyambe. He’s a decent Championship player…Pickering is a better full back overall and these players can be found.
  21. Fair point and he’s only 24….he’s been sold for big money but his goal scoring record is horrific!
  22. If they get the right offer, he’s gone! I think there’s only Newcastle even capable of doing the deal of the teams that might come for him!
