  1. A wonderful team performance….the back 3 and Buckley were sublime. Both fullbacks faultless and had that Cantona-esque chip from BBD literally took my breath away! What. A. Team!
  2. Waggott said when we spoke that the club had deals for Scottish players on pre-contracts set up. The John Parks effect I guess.
  3. Fine. But for the record, I’ve been lower than most in terms of economic status over the years. There’s no ivory tower in my mind…..what I have learnt however is that framing my life from a can’t do perspective would never have served me well. I know that I have felt every emotion that you have felt around Rovers and still managed to find a positive and a reason to enjoy supporting my team. It’s possible and it would help the lads…. Completely understand that many don’t feel the same, it wouldn’t do for us all to be the same though 😊
  4. Yes, help from the club would be good. But as I said before, we decide how we perceive what’s happening externally to us and we decide what action to take…..so once we make that decision it doesn’t matter whether the club lay of £10 tickets, 5 game bundles or a tray of free sandwiches,. We’re going!
  5. It’s glass half full vs glass half empty. No one can win this argument because they are character types. Some people re-Frame everything in their life to find the positive, others do the same to find the negative. The actual facts remain the same. What is true though are two things. You have a choice on how you perceive what has happened AND you have a choice on what you do about it….and as a Blackburn Rovers supporter. A lover of the club I don’t think we’ve EVER had a better chance to go up than this season, since we were relegated. This young team have got ‘something’ about them and they need our backing to get to a collective goal…the premier league! So if fans can find it in their hear to get back to the stadium and support this group then I’m sure it will only serve to improve those chances of promotion further. It doesn’t signify that we support Venkys are that all is forgiven. But it does tell a young footballer that we care and appreciate them….then who knows what we could achieve!
  6. A midfielder??? 🙈🤣🤣
  7. The proposed plans would be a huge asset? Maybe the thinking is that our current model of developing excellent young footballers will reap rewards both on and off the field? Potential ROI is huge…. Just thoughts
  8. Wow!! We’re now closer to 2nd place than we are 7th 😎 Next three upto Jan - Brum (home), Hull (Away), Barnsley (Home). Could we be in the top 2 come Jan 1st?
  9. I don’t want to sell him!!….but the conversation was about IF we sell him. I just delivered the “If Carlsberg….”
  10. Tbf, anyone would’ve been a downgrade on Brad Friedel. He’s in my all time top 5 I’d say 👍🏼
  11. BBD…. Sell in Jan for £15m plus JPvH and Khadra. Sign Healey (perm), a RB and Maja (Loan to perm). Then do pre contracts for Hedges and Souttar ready for the summer and spend the rest on improved contracts for RN, JR and DL. Add the return of Dack and that is how you come out of January stronger! 👊🏼
  12. Argh mate, STOP! 🤣🤣….surely we’ve learnt our lesson as layman’s in writing players off. I cannot even comprehend how many didn’t rate Armstrong before his rise…how many laughed at Buckley and sniggered at Brereton saying there wasn’t a footballer in him! fwiw SG has started this season with 5 goals in 12 appearances. Average that out and he’s heading for 15-20 goals this season. Unless we actually know these players, have direct links to the coaches or watch them train everyday I think we should stop embarrassing ourselves with sweeping, I’ll informed judgement. i squirm regularly at one I made on Wharton a couple of years ago.
  13. I can’t believe there’s still so much back and forth on IF the players have been offered new contracts. OF COURSE THEY HAVE! It’s been reported via direct quote from the manager and CEO in the media and SW confirmed it to me in person after the Sheff U match. The reason they don’t need to offer Mowbray one is because managers aren’t seen as assets until they’re wanted. Weirdly, if we continue to perform like we are we may be in danger of having the decision taken from us. There will be chairman looking up the league at Tony and his academy based team wondering if he could do a job for them….🙈 Whether it be the players or the manager, we HAVE to make sure we’re prepared for all scenarios…. SW said that he would try to sell any player who hadn’t signed a contract by Jan. My guess is that he’s seriously reconsidering that as we now sit so high in the table. But if we are going to cash in on any player we must have excellent replacement options (think Pickering) and agreed budgets. in terms of the manager, the club also need to decide what they’re doing soon. If he’s staying next year then get the deal done. If not then hopefully they’ve communicated that to him AND lined up a replacement.
  14. I suppose it depends on how good he is and how little we can get him for but I’d tend to agree with you. Mainly because I think you can find a lot of decent cb’s out there and there’s not as good a resale value on cb’s unless you go up…whereas if you buy a £5m forward there’s a much bigger chance of a high multiple sale.
  15. Kaminski Lenihan Ayala/JPvH. Wharton Nyambe. Travis. Rothwell. Pickering Buckley Dolan BBD Kaminski would be a huge loss…fingers crossed. id play Ayala if he’s fit. His experience will be really valuable against this lot. I really hope we can beat these and get a point from Bournemouth. Start of another pivotal week for this group. Beat Preston, avoid injuries and we roll into the Bournemouth game full of confidence! The opposite is not worth thinking of!
  16. Erm, not technically true. There was a bid on the table for him of around £15m from West Brom when he suffered the first injury.
  17. Just opinions. I think our position in the league is due to many factors, one of which is player form…in our case the form of Ayala, Buckley, Dolan, Rothwell, BBD and Pickering. But in spite of the form of Nyambe. If I’m honest, I don’t think it’s form with RN. I think he’s just not a great footballer. His game intelligence and technique are poor! He’s bailed out a lot by his physical attributes which are AWESOME! I think he’d make a good right side CB in a 3.
  18. Based on how good I think Nyambe is I reckon with an hour or so free to research I could probably identify 1 or 2 so our full time scouting department must have a hat full. Ill bet Joe Harvey and his team could rattle off a few. Nyambe isn’t great.
  19. Nyambe could be replaced with a couple of hundred grand spent in League One. The end.
  20. The secret (controllable) is recruitment. You can’t make people sign contracts and those on here suggesting we should simply break our wage structure for any of the three mentioned, thus opening the floodgates for every bog standard player to ask for improved terms is ludicrous. The losses extrapolated over contract periods would far outweigh any potential value of the likes of RN, JR and DL. RN can be replaced for a few hundred grand (think Harry Pickering) or a good pre contract. DL is pretty much in the same boat imo. Maybe a million!to replace him. Then there’s Rothwell, who is undoubtedly talented if a little (very) inconsistent. He’s the one with potential to be worth the most…but I wouldn’t smash my wage structure for him….Buckley will end up in that role for Rovers and is already a superior footballer minus Rothwell physical attributes. Dack and Butterworth will fight it out for the advanced role the Buckley currently fills. BBD is the conundrum now. His form and potential value means it may be worth offering an exceptional deal. The possibility of promotion also applies pressure on the situation. Ideal world, they all put pen to paper on new deals. We freshen up in Jan with a winger on loan (for Poveda) plus maybe Josh Maia (loan with option to buy) in the summer. If non re-sign I’d push like mad to sell RN and DL, who are easily replaceable RB (£500k from league 1), John Souttar (small fee). Then let JR run his contract down and try to get promoted. If someone turns up with £25m for BBD we HAVE to take it imo. The guy has played 15-20 good games in 3yrs. If we sell him then I’d make some more signings - Hedges (small fee) and Rhys Healy (7m) prob sort the whole lot for £10m. The key is to have the deals lined up. Fingers crossed we have!
  21. Bloody brilliant win that. Could be pivotal in terms of psychology. Buckley the best player on the park, AAGAIN
  22. I agree! Have been thinking how much of a milestone it would be to win, at Stoke and not go out with a little whimper following three good results. The fact that we always bottle it in these games also playing on my mind…on the flip side IF we win today, it could be a huge psychological boost heading towards the half way point. Heart says a narrow win, form guide says a draw, head says our expectations get dampened with a narrow defeat. I'm prepared to go with my heart!! Kaminski Lenihan JPvH. Wharton Nyambe. Travis. Rothwell. Pickering Buckley Dolan. BBD Subs….Pears, Carter, Edun, Johnson, Clarkson, Butterworth, Khadra
  23. This a hunch or a bit of inside knowledge Neo?
  24. John Souttar has announced he will be leaving Hearts 👀
