    Personally, Iceland.

You must be the only person outside of Iceland who would have wanted to see Iceland progress. It's been a World Cup of fantastic attacking football, the last thing it needed was Iceland going through playing anti football with 10 men behind the ball for the majority of the game. I'm personally delighted to them and their style of football where it belongs, out of the World Cup.

What’s he got wrong? I’ve not seen anything obvious

Gave Portugal a pen then never was and then failed to give Iran one for a similar incident. Should have sent Ronaldo of and has given every 50/50 or soft decision to Portugal. At last he gives Iran a decision although he couldn't really not.

  3. Uruguay have got to be one of the favourites to win it they will be very difficult to beat in the knock out stages. They have two outstanding centre backs including the best in the world in Godin, they have two match winners up top and unlike in previous years they have some flair and creativity in midfield. As for Russia they were probably better of losing today as it means that they will play their last 16 game at the Luzhniki.

One can say Poland losing to Senegal was mainly due to a flukey goal. Poland doesn't look good here, but for argument's sake, one could say that other match was a draw.

There are numerous other erroneous rankings for example the Dutch are ranked 17 despite failing to make the world cup or Euro 16. Russia one of the team of the tournament so far are ranked 70 a whole 28 places behind Scotland.

I don't think Tunisia is that poor and this reminds me of when England played Algeria in 2010, result? Draw. It may not mean anything to people but Tunisia is #21 FIFA rankings I believe.

England had problems winning vs. Tunisia but they opened up very strongly.

Panama? Well, they were thoroughly dominated.

That was a decent Algeria side don't forget 4 years later they took Germany (who would go on to win the tournament) to extra time. The World Rankings certainly don't mean much to me as I am currently watching Poland who according to them are the 8th best team in the world.

  6. From what I have heard and read people just need to calm down a bit about England yes its great to win 2 from 2 but having seen every team twice, I think that we have probably played the two worst teams in the tournament. It is a real worry that we have conceded in both games especially as we have been under hardly any pressure defensively, I worry what may happen when we come up against a good attacking team. Also I keep hearing about how good and dangerous England look going forward but only two of our goals have not come from set pieces and one of them was a fluke, we need to start scoring more from open play as when we play a good organised team you aren't going to get free headers at goal or penalties from naïve fouls .

I think we'd still have 6/6 but you're right, it would have been a very different style of play. We probably would have beaten Tunisia more comfortably but not scored as many against Panama. Time to see how Southgate's team deals with a real attacking threat in Belgium.

The way the draws shaping up, I would imagine that both sides would be quite happy to lose and come second.

Spending 6 million of a forward doesn't guarantee goals... Look at Rhodes at Boro and Wednesday. We signed Gestede for pittance and scored as many as Rhodes. Cardiff spent almost jack all and got promoted...

Folk need to just bloody relax and enjoy the bloody world cup! Reserve judgement until we make all of our signings.

Cardiff spent £6 million on Madine. Although that does prove your argument that spending £6 million doesn't guarantee goals as I don't think he scored a goal.
