Lukas Nmech and Patrick Roberts are not on the bench for City today, so it could be one of those coming on loan?

Seeing as we are linked to the lad from Hibs, it must surely mean that Travis is going out on loan and maybe if we can offload Whittingham to free up space and wages. Some poster on here mentioned that Evans has only got a year left on his contract (plus high wages) which might mean he’s off somewhere?

The next few days will be interesting..

Not just a quick fullback, but one that can tackle. People seem to think Bell is the answer. He'll get his chance and we'll see, but I feel like there are extremely high expectations from everyone here bemoaning today's draw. Away from home. In the Championship. Having just come from League One...

I don't think it's that people think Bell is the answer I just think that they would like to see what he could do as we paid £300K for him, he was in the team of the year yet here he has spent most of the time sat on the bench.

How is this Ipswich team being rated amongst the championship teams? If they are not relegation fodder and there should be worse teams below them, then there is some light after today ????

With the bookies they are 3rd favourites for relegation. Personally I think they are a side that have made some good signings and will be mid table at worst.

I forgot about Samuel. He was poor, but he was played out of position, and it's not a position to hold up the ball, is it? I concluded that it doesn't matter too much because Arma will be here to fill that void in time for the next game. ?

What is Samuel position though because he is certainly not a striker.

Draw sounds like a fair result in the end, but I don't understand why he took both Graham and Dack off, you need to keep a threat up front.

We've all known since the end of last season that Graham can't do more than 70 minutes that's why it was so poor that we went into this game with Nuttall as the backup. That's the same Nuttall that couldn't even get onto the bench at the end of last season

    Hasn't Mowbray already answered this?

Plus considering some of the names being suggest by some people on here. I would imagine Gallagher will be in by next week game

Well no he hasn't answered it & what makes you so certain Gallagher is coming (I hope you are wrong as he is a very average player).

Williams is shit. Pathetic for their goal.

Mowbray far too defensive too early. Keep Dack on for every minute if he is fit. FFS

Crazy taking Dack of as you say if he is fit then he must be on the pitch. As for Williams I just don't get what Mowbray see's in him and I don't get why he paid decent money for another full back to just sit on the bench as I can't see him dropping Williams.

There's no harm chucking a traditional 4-4-2 out now and again.  Last thing teams expect these days !  Get the best players out on the pitch and if they are intelligent enough, they should sort themselves out!

Not sure where you fit Dack into a 4-4-2  though as he's not a striker and playing in a two man midfield would restrict him in attack.

I agree it's a big gamble. I wouldn't say he's not Championship standard yet. Too early to say for me.  Are we going to play a formation that suits him IE two up front with him next to another striker ? Not many teams play that way these days. Especially teams that have just moved up to a higher level. As a winger he's not a natural. He's the sort of player that can run onto the ball past people but not necessarily with the ball. He reminds me a lot of Matty Derbyshire.

The problem with playing two up front is that the only way we could play it is by playing 3 at the back and when we play that we usually look rubbish.

On paper the following team looks more than capable but they just seem to struggle with the system.

                                        Raya

                      Lenihan    Mulgrew   Downing/Williams

    Bennett                                                                               Bell

                      Smallwood                  Davenport

                                           Dack

                       Armstrong                  Graham

  10. Armstrong for £2-3 Million would be a good deal a 21 year old whose an Under 21 international. One good season in the Championship and his value will go to around £10 Million, just look at Waghorn 28 years old one good season at this level in his career and now said to be moving for around £7-8 Million. As well as Armstrong though I would still like to see another striker, centre back & natural winger brought in.

    Nugent is 34 years old.

We should be investing in younger players(20 to 26 years old)

Nugent was born in May 1985 making him 33 years of age.

Mowbray wants players with Championship experience you aren't going to be getting any 20 year olds with experience but you will get players 28+ year olds with plenty of experience. Its all very well wanting to sign young players but you still need experience as well.
