    Nugent is 34 years old.

We should be investing in younger players(20 to 26 years old)

Nugent was born in May 1985 making him 33 years of age.

Mowbray wants players with Championship experience you aren't going to be getting any 20 year olds with experience but you will get players 28+ year olds with plenty of experience. Its all very well wanting to sign young players but you still need experience as well.

Seems like Wilder may want to take the easy fights in the hope Joshua gets old and slow. Did Mayweather ever fight Manny P before that huge fight where they made billions a couple of years ago?

The other way round I think, Hearn doesn't want his golden goose being met with one of Wilder's flailing right hands.

I am very happy we aren't over paying for players. 8mil for Waghorn? what a joke

If people want us to over pay then fine but when we are stuck with them on 3 or 4 years and paying daft wages then they still complain about the situation

Don't think anyone has said they want us to spend £8 Million on 1 players but I think most people would have expected us to spend more on players this summer than last we did last summer, given that we are playing in a higher division.

The team that went down would’ve finished mid table at the ratio it was collecting points under TM. I think it would have enough to survive in the Championship.

Having said that I’ll be gutted if we don’t sign the forwards we need.

Perhaps, but the fact remains over 46 games they were not good enough to stay up and I'd say the only player we have now who is better than anything we had then is Dack.

I’m disappointed with how the current summer transfer situation is, but I still think we’ll bring someone in before next weekend, maybe more. Even if we don’t, I still think there’s 3 worse teams in this league than us.  Bolton, Rotherham, QPR, Birmingham, Reading, Hull and Ipswich all come to mind when I think of crap squads. There’s plenty of other teams without world beaters too, like Swansea and Preston.

All those sides would probably say the same about us though. The year we went down there were teams that on paper that we should have finished above and the current squad is only marginally better than the one that went down.

Anyone else find it a bit odd how all 3 of Ipswich's signings were supposedly targets of ours? Chalobah, Harrison and Edwards all tipped to come here at various stages. Almost as though us and Ipswich are shopping from the same list....

I would have thought we'll be in similar territory in terms of revenues and finances but even they have gone out and spent a couple of million.

Hurst will have seen Edwards and Harrison last season and was obviously impressed with them, like I was.

I'm sure people won't be happy with me for saying it, and I will be in a minority, but I'm actually not happy about Dack signing this new contract. Or at best, I'm ambivalent. 3 years is the same period we had him tied down for already. This doesn't really achieve more security (it will make the player a bit happier but that's the extent of the extra security).

His previous deal ran until 2020 this deal runs until 2021.

But you have to look at the age of the team. Only really Giroud from that starting 11, maybe Matuidi, they might have another tournament in them max, most of the squad are actually at the start of their development and should improve further.

They seem to know what to do to win already, countries like Spain, Germany and Brazil have teams more reliant on experience than youth.

And so many good players to come in Lemar, Dembele, Fekir, Mendy, Kimpembe & Tolisso hardly played any minutes between them. Then you have the likes of Coman & Rabiot who didn't even make the squad.

Kent was poor for Barnsley? Really?

Aim a little higher then Gallagher? Like who???

Massive BS from you there. Maybe its time I ignore you for a while.

Ive mention Gallagher, Armstrong and Chapman before the season ended

The other day you didn't want Maddison because he had no Championship experience. Chapman has no Championship experience. Armstrong only has bad experience 7 goals in 54 games. And in the last 2 years Gallagher has been relegated and stayed up on the last day.
