    Hardly Shearer is it?

Good on loan when he was after a contract, then part of a side which got us relegated, has freely admitted he wasn't professional enough, crap in League 1 then couldn't move for his last couple of seasons here.

To be fair the last bit wasn't his fault, it was down to Mowbray giving him a ridiculous new deal.

Crap in League 1?? You taking the piss? He made the EFL team of the season. Him and Dacks partnership blossomed that season.

    1. Will Steve Waggott still be at Rovers on 1/7/22 ? If no, date of departure.

    2. Will Tony Mowbray still be manager on 1/2/22 ? If no, date of departure.

    3. Rovers Player of the Season 21/22 ?

    4. Where will Rovers finish the season ?

    5. Who will be championship winners ?

I know Venkys are shite houses, I know Mowbray is holding on with all his might to his last ever pay day, I know Waggott is the worst CEO in football. But, I'm still going to say it ... I'm absolutely staggered at what is going on at Blackburn Rovers with regards to preparing a squad for a season in England's second tier, I'd be shocked if a league two club were so clueless. It is an absolutel embarrassment to the history of this famous club, its an absolute shambles!!!

I wouldn't call people that are pumping in nearly £400k a week into our club shite houses.

Must be great being a mate of Mowbray's. One day you're on your uppers, the next you're on easy street drawing a 6 figure salary accountable to no-one.

There's absolutely nothing to say they are mates! They've worked together a long while in the past and that's it. Mowbray is in his last year of his contract. People acting like he owns the Club. He isn't gonna give himself a contract extension is he and neither is Park.

Park's record and CV is good and exactly what a Championship Club like Rovers need.

  5. I, for one, am really looking forward to seeing what Park can bring to the Club. Yes he's worked with Mowbray before, so what? He unearthed some real gems at Celtic and if money is tight then that is exactly what we need to be doing at Rovers.

Don't get me wrong, I am 100% Mowbray out, but the appointment of John Park isn't something that should be used to stoke the fire. I only see it as a good thing.

    I respectfully disagree John.

We need administration ASAP and rebuild from the ground up.

The fans will come out united, the swamp will be cleared and the last 10 years put behind us.

Anything else is prolonging the agony and division.

Think you are backing the wrong horse.

I honestly can't believe that I am reading a post from a Rovers fan saying that we NEED administration!

The most ridiculous post I have ever seen on here.

I lost interest in anything this guy had to say when he defended Mowbray recently by claiming under nearly every metric we had progressed. Clearly after a job with the Club or already involved with the Club in some way on this nonsensical analytics lark.

I had cause to Google Glynn Chamberlain at the weekend who is our head of European scouting and I found it very refreshing that he bucked this trend somewhat by having written in an article on scouting that nothing beat casting an experienced eye over a player.

Also it might be just me, but I can't see the use of analytics tools if they can't incorporate whether or not a players wage demands. I'm sure you can spend a few hours compiling a list of the top ten players with the most passes in a certain part of the pitch blah blah but if their financial demands are out of your league then it's a complete waste of time.

Stats don't tell you if a player has heart or whether they fancy a freezing Tuesday night in February away at Barnsley etc either.

Andy would love a job with Rovers, wouldn't we all? He's a passionate fan and believes in what he does. And he does it very well.

He has recently stated that he believes a change of manager is needed so there's no hidden agenda with regards to 'defending' Mowbray.

If you can't see the use in analytical tools then I think you need read more about it. No they don't tell you wage demands, that's when you start negotiating with players and agents.

I find it quite sad that many people have chosen to react this way to Andy's work, but I guess I am not surprised.

Very much so. I dont really understand the motive behind what is clearly a report that has taken a lot of time and to be fair is presented very well. Is it a case of someone not currently within the recruitment department of a football club creating what is essentially a portfolio to try and earn himself paid work? And if so, would that in any way explain his continued insistence to justify the "performance over results" rhetoric to defend Mowbray, wary of burning bridges ahead of what he hopes will eventually see him get a paid job?

The line about Rovers recruitment team doing an excellent job did make me chuckle! I havent seen many of the players play very often although Trybull is perhaps the perfect example of how data can mislead, presumably his passing stats are good yet they dont account for how slow he does everything stunting the momentum in any attack, not a player I want to see return.

The motive is quite clear. He loves the Club, he loves what he does and believes in it. He wants to share his undoubted talent with fellow Rovers fans, who have an interest.

He has openly said that he believes it's time for a change of manager so there's no motive of trying to please Mowbray. His analysis of performance has data to back it up.

  9. Came on here to see what was being said about Tony and it appears that I have clicked on to the How to be a successful journalist page.

Jaquob is not a local Rovers through and through fan, but I actually think that the way he has adopted us as his second club and maybe offers opinions from an "outsiders" perspective is quite refreshing.

Anybody that disagrees should perhaps look at applying for his job.
