  1. I'm certainly not in favour of going cap in hand to the Issa Brothers as some on Social Media seem to be. My understanding is that the limit of their football interest does not extend beyond occasionally watching Liverpool on the Box. However, surely it would not be beyond the wit of the club to approach them on the basis of two locally high profile entities entering into a mutually beneficial collaboration? I wonder if this has been done? For me 'Euro Garages' would look much better on our shirts than the lamentable and embarrassing Totally Wicked.
  2. Cantwell looks comfortable on the ball, has nice hair and an Alice band. Even so, I'd be happier if we were being linked with a gritty German Right Back or a giant Scandinavian Centre Half.
  3. Benjamin Bloom made what I thought was a very good point on his YouTube channel. He likened following Dyche at B*ly to following Wenger at Arsenal or Whiskey Nose at manyoo. Here's hoping.
  4. I'm very enthused but cautiously optimistic. Obviously, I hope JDT s going to be a wild success but if it doesn't work out, I'm pleased that the club has tried something different and is heading in a new direction.
  5. You mischaracterised me. I accepted The Allardyce Way as a price worth paying in much the same way as the Dingles did with Dyche. I was was worried by his sacking which I acknowledge did not work out very well at all. Anyway, JDT appears to be the man of the moment, here's hoping that he can unite the fanbase.
  6. I meant the 1-0 defeat around March when Robinson spent the game getting as close to the centre circle as possible before launching the ball into Stoke's Penalty Box.. That wasn't Allardyce's first game, I stand corrected.
  7. It's possible to hold both concepts in your head at the same time. Allardyce's first game away at Stoke was one of the most depressing spectacles that I've ever seen. Likewise, his regular capitulations away to the big clubs. That didn't stop me from feeling alarmed and worried by new owners abruptly dismissing him.
  8. Difficult to argue but in our parlous financial state then I don't think we have a choice. I suppose that the hope has to be that if you can move on players for decent profits each season or two then it keeps us out of FFP peril.and allows a manager some leeway in the transfer market to incrementally improve the squad.
  9. It's a target and not one that can necessarily be met every year. If you have a better method I'm sure the club would love to hear from you.
  10. Well I'd be a little disappointed if John Park moves on. His record of bringing in players cheaply and seeing them move on for big profits is very good. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/7811885/celtic-john-park-moneyball-signings-peter-lawwell/
  11. I would imagine that the plan is to bring through a Wharton or Buckley each season and trade by selling an Armstrong/Brereton annually.
  12. My understanding is that his teams play some pretty basic, direct football and, if we are going to be fairly reliant on the Academy, then I'm not sure he's a good fit if tthat is indeed the case.
  13. I don't think he gives Rovers a second thought but l doubt that he'd want to risk reputational damage by recommending someone on the basis of an old pals act.
  14. Our worst ever sponsor and frankly embarrassing from my perspective. I think a club's shirt sponsor can be a reflection of it's status so, for me, this is a depressing development. Additionally, the stance against Betting companies appears to be merely window dressing.
