  1. I looked up the Fulham home game from 2002 as I needed the date and remembered being at Ewood that day. Just look at that attendance! It actually makes me feel quite sad.
  2. I've supported the club since 1975. It's been a massive part of my life but but early this season I decided to turn my back on it. At my age you don't want things in your life that make you angry and upset. You cut those things out of your life if you can so I did. I live overseas but was home earlier this year. I didn't want to go to Ewood but went to spend the day with my mates. I saw the Norwich, Millwall and Plymouth games. Awful, just awful. Such a terrible atmosphere at Ewood, so depressing. I don't blame the current manager, he's clearly limited but what can he do with that shower and a dysfunctional club? Ultimately we stayed up by virtue of a freak result. Were Leicester at it? If they weren't then we have that to thank for our undeserved survival. I have a horrible feeling of foreboding about the club's future. I believe next season will be catastrophic. I might check in around October to see if my worst fears are being confirmed. Otherwise life is too short to be made sad and depressed by a football club. Fuck Venkys, utter scum.
  3. I migrated to Australia in 2009 and was delighted when, a few years later, Rovers took part in a pre season tournament in Sydney. I felt quite pleased with myself having flown to watch Rovers from my new home in Adelaide but hubris deflated my ego when I saw Birdy and his Mrs strolling around Circular Quay! Amazing! A true 'Super Fan'. R.I.P.
  4. Sadly Jack's family wanted the moolah and couldn't get their hands on the Rupees quick enough.
  5. Adelaide based here. I'm trying to wean myself of Rovers though as as following the club makes me sad and angry. Life is too short.
  6. I wonder if our Commercial Department got on the blower to Autolab? It's a Blackburn company which, apparently, supplies high end vehicles to Footballers. It would seem like a good fit and nothing like as cringe as a Vaping company.
  7. I certainly don't want Rovers to go cap in hand to the Issa brothers but is it beyond the club to sell them a mutually beneficial commercial partnership on the basis that their various businesses and Rovers are Blackburn based entities with a national profile? Apparently it is. This sponsorship is very disappointing. I'm sceptical about the anti vaping propaganda but I just feel that vaping is poorly regarded and percieved which reflects negatively on the club. Such a poxy logo that looks terrible on our shirt too.
  8. They won the League on Pathe News.
  9. Such an effective team. I remember us going up and then taking the Second Division by storm. We played Derby away early that first season back up. I think we drew but Mickey Speight thwacked the crossbar with A free kick and we battered them. Sadly Kendall was too good to not attract the attention of First Division clubs and him going was inevitable.
  10. I was there as a 14 year old and went on the train with my snot nosed mates! Great season, great memories.
  11. That is a bit before my time but I seem to remember Rovers playing in all red at Ewood in a UEFA Cup game.
  12. No matter who the manager is Stoke always seem to be fairly direct and physical, the sort of team Rovers traditionally struggle against. They are rightly regarded as a big club and have a recent Premier League pedigree. They have a good manager and represent the type of opposition that Rovers often trip up against when we're seemingly on the cusp of success. The pessimism is probably due to a combination of those factors.
  13. I know a few Burnley fans. Some are ok, some have got a screw loose. Also worked in Burnley in the 90s. I know we laugh about the place but there is a weird vibe about it. There seems to be a disproportionate amount of Not Rights there.
  14. We have bounced back well of course but I'm an old school Rovers fan and I'm also from Accy so I do obsess about that game! I'll move on and forgive if we beat those ****s at Ewood.
  15. Exactly. What made it worse was Tomasson assuring the fans that he knew how important the game was to us. That CANNOT happen again.
  16. Obviously I understand the infatuation with Tomasson and he's clearly an upgrade on Mowbray but I just can't get past his team selection and the subsequent surrender against b*ly. Unforgivable unless we batter them at Ewood.
  17. Well, I hope they have at least one more performance like that in them because they owe the fans big time after that disgrace at t'Turd.
  18. I get that but last night's performance was out of the ordinary. I absolutely hate to say this but b*ly are consistently comfortably better than us.
  19. I couldn't take another pasting off the Inbreds.
  20. I've just Googled him. He's playing for Sevilla!
  21. Is anyone going to mention Dolan's touch in controlling JRC's sublime crossfield pass?
  22. Whilst accepting the valid points made about Tomasson's achievements under trying circumstances I can't get past the capitulation at b*ly. I can't listen to Tomasson or bear to see his face.
  23. I live overseas but work with a lot of Expats most of whom are Football fans. They're all talking about the game and showing lots of interest. Personally, I can't wait for it to be over, I actually feel sick.
  24. You need help for this weird obsession.
