  1. If he excluded everyone you have previously stated is useless we’d struggle getting 11 players on the pitch. A coach’s job is to develop and improve the players he has at his disposal. He won’t do that overnight and he certainly won’t do that without giving those players gametime
  2. Far too early to be questioning JDT and his suitability to the job. He and GB are trying to shape the first team to play a totally different way to that of the last 5 years, with a mainly inherited squad, and one that’s been massively depleted from the one they inherited. GB asked for a few windows in his first interview and for patience. A change like this won’t happen in 5 games. This was always going to be a transition season with teething problems. We haven’t even got to the end of the first window yet, as long as we’re not knocking around the relegation spots later in the season we just have to be patient.
  3. I have no idea. Just saying that £10-12m seems a good enough chunk of cash for a competent scouting/recruitment team to find a young gem from some corner of Europe.
  4. As good as he’s been, feel that spent wisely, £10-12m would go a long way to getting a v good if not better replacement in on a 3-4 year deal. Chance for us to play a blinder here (or totally balls it up). Fingers crossed..
  5. What’s a 95% paycut between old mates. Do it for the badge Phil
  6. Massively sketchy looking account but might as well chuck it up 👀
  7. Assuming best case scenario happens on incomings, would surely be the best back 5 in the champ? Kaminski Brittain Van Hecke Ayala Styles
  8. Magloire permanent move to Northampton confirmed, undisclosed fee. Good for all parties, never looked like he was going to make the grade at this level
  9. RE the conversation about wanting to get signings in before the season starts, its obvious the preference would be to have all business done before the first game, but if you put yourself in GB's shoes, and for example, targets 1, 2 and 3 on the priority list are all on hold pending decisions from their clubs (i.e. JPVH), but targets 4 and 5 are both available immediately, what do you do? You'd like to think we'd hang on and get the right players for us for the long-term, even at the expense of them missing a handful of games at the start of the season. Important to wait until the end of the season to assess the window.

  11. He may be top of our list but on hold whilst they assess their options at CB. May be the case that they've now decided he's not required which would open the door for us to move for him.
  12. Would be made up with Brittain, definite upgrade on Nyambe and big sell-on potential. Even though its probably a target from the old shortlist, he seems to fit the type of playing style that GB/JDT are after.
  13. I’d take rumoured at this point, strange that there’s not even a sniff of interest anywhere! Fingers crossed we see some movement today
  14. If we’re only days away from announcing signings, it looks as if we’ve again been able to move and submit bids, hold talks etc under the radar of the usual journos, wonder whether this means these will be left field signings that haven’t yet been rumoured. Interesting week ahead!
  15. This has been a horrific thread since about page 87. For the love of god someone chuck a name out there, anyone seen Martyn Waghorn in the co-op on livesey branch road?? Will take anything right now
  16. Sharpe confirmed Nyambe will be leaving. Sad to see him go but I don’t feel too down about it - his improvement as a player seemed to have stopped over the last 12-18 months. I remember thinking how much a breath of fresh air it was when Zeefuik beat his man and drove into the box in his first game. Good opportunity now to improve on the RB position and have someone that JDT/GB have personally chosen.
  17. The skill in profiting from player recruitment is finding players who are worth more than their asking price (regardless of how high it may seem at the time). credit has to go for mowbray for that, just as we’d slam mowbray for paying over the odds for someone who didn’t end up performing for us.
  18. If you have 10 mins, the full GB interview on RoversTV is well worth watching. So refreshing to have someone within senior management at the club communicating with the fans about football decisions and vision for the club. Loving the fact we have 2 young and ambitious guys in GB and JDT at the helm. Hopefully exciting times ahead
