I think the fact Broughton specifically referenced SS's contribution in the last 10 games of the Championship season when playing in Dack's position, and also mentioned his athleticism, certainly added to the 'Dack is out of favour' rumours. I don't want to believe it as Dack is our best player when fit.

People keep saying such-and-such isn't a direct replacement for BBD. We've no idea if JDT wants a direct replacement, he may want someone more like Szmodics who is more of a midfielder than BBD.

Morton should be just the ticket then, JDT saying he can play DM and CM....so he can cover both Travis and Buckley.

Possibly, but like all clubs, there's very little we can do if we lose a key man like Travis to injury. You can't just have the equivalent sat on the bench. We just need to hope we get lucky with injuries.

Styles still appears to be on the radar, so not sure Morton will be the last of the CM's being recruited. And Styles can also play LB so that would fit with JDT wanting players who can fill more than one role.

That's all very well, but what does Sparks think of him?
