  1. H'field's manager resigned a couple of weeks ago. They are a club in crisis. Winning 1-0 there is like winning at Padiham.
  2. It was an A1 joke mate, sheet of paper. It's probably too early for shit puns.
  3. I think it was also mentioned that he likes players who can run in behind the defence. Watching Sczmodics highlights that's exactly what he does. I'll be ridiculed, but he genuinely reminds me of Bellamy a bit. Craig, not David.
  4. You'd hope a chunk of that is performance based, and if it is then he'll be worth the money. I doubt it's £2.5m in cash delivered direct to fat Barry.
  5. Yeah, I'm aware of that. I didn't say they'd be playing for us tomorrow.
  6. Szmodics looks a good player. Skilful and nippy. Scoring 6 goals from midfield in a team that got relegated isn't a bad return at all. And he only played 26 games. He can play AMC or AML. The 3 behind the striker of Sczmodics, Dack and Bowler would equal sexy football.
  7. Lewis Travis: Blackburn Rovers midfielder signs new four-and-a-half-year deal - BBC Sport signed in March this year.
  8. He looks a bit taller and more robust than I thought he was. He's clearly a talented lad with the ball at his feet.
  9. John Williams? I wasn't aware Mdm Venky had said this about Rovers ST's? A parallel would be PNE again. Their new manager had a big say in the dropping of prices and it was only because Hemmings Snr passed away that PNE have been able to do it. Hemmings Snr was against dropping prices by all accounts. Hemmings Snr & Mdm Venky have been proved wrong.
  10. PNE normally sell 8k. They've increased that by 4k after dropping prices by £120 ish for the early bird. All to do with price. Nowt to do with historical league positions or years in the Prem. Bolton have proved that by selling 13k @ £299.00 in League 1. Meanwhile, we've just scraped in at 8.5k.
  11. I'd imagine that 'loyalty' came with a big pay rise, and possibly more than B'pool could pay him.
  12. What that article does confirm is that in general Waggott is full of shite - 'confident' of getting Lenihan to sign.
  13. Because the contract was agreed in principle. I'd imagine it was all drawn up and all he had to do was sign it on his 17th birthday. He appears to have reneged on that agreement...probably cos Spurs have offered him a lot more money. I can't stand Waggott FWIW...I just don't think the blame for this is on him. The club couldn't do anymore UNLESS the wages offered on his Pro deal are shite. On telling the press, no idea, maybe he was asked, maybe he just likes to blow his own trumpet. I doubt it has changed anything.
  14. What can he do though? If the wage offered is a good one by Rovers standards then Phillips either signs or he doesn't. If he can get triple at Spurs and his entourage are getting him to sign it then we can't compete. I think Waggott et al were hoping 1st team football would sway it. Lets hope it does.
  15. Anyway, this transfer window is turning out to be a massive pile of wank that seems to get bigger every day.😬 We need a signing.
  16. Can a player transfer/resign from a scholarship? During your registration period you may only be released if all parties are in agreement (the Club, Academy Player and parents). As an alternative, any party may ask the Football Disciplinary Commission (FDC) to provide a decision on the termination request by making a written application providing full reasons for the request. For further information on Football League Contracts at there website ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- so looks like he he stays on his scholarship until it ends in summer 23. Bit awkward for all concerned if true and he is going to leave next summer. caveat article form 2016 so may have changed
