  1. Today is the day Sir Gareth galvanises our misfiring misfits into an all-conquering football machine. Believe!
  2. Haha, I think you’re in for a very disappointing window if you think we can afford their wages.
  3. I suppose it comes down to interpretation, like deliberate handball would. The German penalty was clearly not deliberate handball, others may be less obvious. Likewise, a player purposefully slowing down or leaving a leg out so he is collided with in the box would be down to interpretation. I think a good ref who was allowed to use common sense (and with the help of video replays) would make the right decision most of the time. I doubt a good ref who was allowed to use common sense would have given that German pen.
  4. Yes. It’s a contact sport so accidental tripping of an opponent is going to happen and should be penalised (it doesn’t happen often though) The ball flicking off your pinky finger as it gets slammed at you from 2 yards is not the same.
  5. Southgate has certainly had luck when it’s come to group stages and knockout opponents in major finals, but he deserves a lot of credit for what he’s achieved. He’ll go down as one of the most successful managers we’ve ever had. I want him to win it if just to shut up insufferably smug wankers like Lineker.
  6. On a similar theme I was just reading that the England midfield 3 against Croatia in the WC SF in 2018 was Henderson. Dele Ali and Lingard. I’m amazed we qualified.
  7. Someone’s in a jolly mood this morning.
  8. Anyone know what the 2 Nixon stories are?
  9. It’s no surprise we’ve supplied the shittest refs at the tournament
  10. Well, that’s what the confusion is. The club says they do, some on here claim otherwise.
  11. Thought Venky’s had to post a bond for every equivalent rupee they send to the UK?
  12. From watching that stream of the AGM the biggest issue affecting the club (funding) was not even mentioned. Which is astonishing really. (I may have missed it though so apologies if so, but I don’t think I did) The only thing asked was about transfer budgets, which Gestede dismissed as it wasn’t a the right time to discuss it.
  13. I think Waggott said a month ago funds had been requested. Pasha was off discussing budgets a week or so ago. Unfortunately the club aren’t held to account. They can say what they want. Without a Supporters organisation asking the right questions we are at the mercy of people who have already proved themselves untrustworthy.
  14. I like his stories. They even turn out to be true on occasion. But I can see why he rubs people up the wrong way.
  15. Nixon has 2 stories on Rovers tomorrow. Someone asked him if they were positive. He basically laughed!
  16. This tweeter has been right on a few things. What this tweet doesn’t explain is why the court date in August is so important in relation to Venkys ownership of Rovers. Again, BRFC said the court date in August had nothing to do with Rovers. So what is the bigger picture here? Would losing the court case have ramifications for Venky’s ability to send any money overseas for any reason, not just to Rovers. Sadly the tweet lacks any detail.
  17. Your opinion is irrelevant. The discussion was about who said what, not whether what was said was impactful. Try to actually engage with what is going on instead of always playing the contrarian.
  18. It matters who said it in the context of the discussion being had.
