  1. What’s your number out of interest?
  2. Yes, that was it ‘smashed’….whatever that means! maybe we’ve sold 8k already.
  3. I remember when we were in League One, us and Wigan had a wage spend of about 4x higher than the next highest, who I think was Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury came 3rd as I recall. John Williams used to say you could, with only a few exceptions, predict a Prem league table before the season started based on how much each team spent on wages. I think that’s increasing true of every league in the EFL too.
  4. You’re preaching to the converted, I’d be amazed if there wasn’t a decent budget based on who we’ve sold and the money coming into the club this summer (providing of course the funding issue has been resolved as per the club statement). The players you have suggested us as being linked with seem to suggest there is quite a substantial budget?
  5. Yeah, it just said ‘budget’ on the forum so it could mean anything, but the apparent headline from Nixon on his website was that Brum would ‘blow their rivals away’ with £20m budget. I just assumed that meant transfer budget but it could just mean wages.
  6. I thought it was that we’d already sold more early birds than last season in total? Someone linked the club twitter post in this thread. I may have misremembered.
  7. We’ve sold more early birds than last season according to the club so last seasons poor performance may not be a big factor. I think the price reduction and the cheap kids tickets have gone down well.
  8. The forum is Small Heath Alliance. the first comment after the £20m is revealed is ‘Nixon is clueless’ or words to that effect. someone also comments that Paik may move on but not somewhere ‘shit like Blackburn’.
  9. That would make a great Rovers 3rd kit. Only real men would wear it.
  10. The benchmark is how many we sold last season after the early bird ended. We aren’t guessing that figure.
  11. You seem to be making a lot of assumptions based on zero evidence. A lot can happen in the next 2 months.
  12. How many did we sell after the early bird deadline last summer? That will probably be a more accurate benchmark.
  13. Reading Brum’s fans forum and Nixon has said they have £20m budget to get out of League 1.
  14. Nixon saying Ruddy wants to move closer to home (no idea where that is) but that we have an alternative lined up who is ‘similar to Ruddy’. I’m guessing he means age/experience
  15. Im ruling out a foreign manager simply because they’re foreign. It’s called a National team for a reason.
  16. There were over 10k on for the Plymouth game.
  17. It’s wasn’t implied at all. I just said we’d tried it twice and twice it had failed. If I implied anything it was getting a well respected foreign manager in to manage England is no guarantee of success.
  18. Warped? Oh dear. And I didn’t say that all foreign managers would fail. You have this strange ability to put words in posters mouths and then argue against it. I think there’s a name for that.
  19. Bit salty, I was just asking how you knew it was a fake. Thanks for the article though, so the twitter guy wasn’t fake, he just got it from someone who might be. You didn’t say that in your original ‘fake’ post. Thanks for being clearer.
  20. Can you link the article? looking at the twitter feed it’s just a guy who posts a lot of art stuff and seems to be a uni student in the US who is from Peru. He’s not claiming to be an ITK from what I can see?
  21. And Chong who’s now at Luton, and Oli Burke. Like you say, he seems to love a quick tricky winger. It will make a change having pace on the wings, can’t remember the last time we had an edge-of-your-seat type dribbler in the team. Here’s hoping.
  22. The only time we’ve reached major finals has been with an Englishman in charge. Capello and SGE were nowhere near. I hope we never employ a foreigner again as England manager.
  23. Agreed. Think he signed Khadra and Miyoshi in his short time at Brum. I’m hopeful we can do ok next season. JE has showed he can get his team to defend well and he looks like he favours counter attacking. With a couple of quick wingers we’ll be a lot more effective going forward than we were last season.
