  1. So why hasn’t Hogan signed? And Ohashi has?
  2. JDT was head coach and he had final say on transfers. I think you’re getting the roles mixed up. The manager tells the recruitment team what he wants. The recruitment team identify talent to present to the manager. The manager then has final say. Maybe the recruitment team need to present better options?
  3. How do you know that’s the case at Rovers? What happens at other clubs is irrelevant.
  4. You seem to have resorted to making things up.
  5. Park Gestede and Owen aren’t picking and coaching the team. They also aren’t responsible for results. There’s a reason the manager has final say. I think the theory that the manager is refusing good players because he wants to sign his inferior mates is one of the best/worst conspiracies I’ve read for a while. You know how silly that sounds right? You’re also questioning the integrity of a bloke you don’t know from Adam.
  6. It’s ok, we’ve now reached the stage where the fans no longer care whether the manager thinks the players he wants to sign are any good! We are down a rabbit hole. I think it’s the stress of the window getting to a few on here. 🤣
  7. He’s certainly changing the culture at the club. It’s no longer game over when we go behind, as it was under JDT and Mowbray. Yesterday, and the Norwich game, are clear evidence of that.
  8. I disagree with the whole premise that Eustace is signing players cos he’s pals with them. He’ll be signing them because they will improve the squad. You appear to be trying to undermine him with these insinuations of old pals acts and comparisons with Mowbray/ Pears.
  9. Very simplistic. Let’s take Germaine. If he’s being offered as the fast LW that Eustace has said he wants then you can see why he’d want the recruitment team to find someone more suitable.
  10. We were within a whisker of relegation, yet we had/have some good championship players. It’s not really relevant.
  11. He has final say on transfers. If he thinks a player or two he has managed before is the best option out of the ones presented to him by the recruitment team then that’s perfectly fine.
  12. Precisely. He coaches the team and is responsible for results. The recruitment team work for him, not the other way round.
  13. He has final say on the transfers. How does that translate to a ‘greed for power’. You seem to have a peculiar aversion to Eustace. Any reason for that?
  14. Cos he’s been carrying an injury as stated by JE after the Derby game. Today was the sharpest he’s looked but still not 100%
  15. Didn’t do much wrong, except spilling one in the 6 yard box in the 2nd half and getting bailed out by Hyam. He then tried to claim it moved in the air! He was well protected by a well-drilled defence.
  16. Some strange criticism of JRC. He was really good today, caused Oxford lots of problems by coming centrally and linking play. He also offers a genuine goal threat. He’ll get better as he gets fitter.
  17. JRC had a good game today. Caused them problems by dropping centrally inside into the space between their midfield and defence. He’s not playing as a winger. We need a proper winger with pace on the other side though.
  18. I think Elliot Jackson is on some strong gear. In his match ratings he’s given Pears an 8 and Tronstad a 6. Bizarre.
  19. Eustace still wants 4 more signings according to LT. GK, FB, CM and winger.
  20. No end product though according to @roversfan99
  21. I actually thought Gueye was a bit of a liability when he came on. Ohashi was superb all game. I think he’ll make a great No10.
  22. Really chuffed with that win, we weren’t particularly good but we dug it out. Reminded me of the first 6 months under JDT when we used to eke out narrow home wins. Thought Tronstad, JRC and Yuki were the standout performers. The back 4 were collectively good and it’s noticeable how well drilled they are. We don’t give up many chances from open play. Trav worked like a Trojan and I thought gave a really good Captain’s performance in a tough match. Great goal by Siggy, such a technically good footballer, probably the best in the team. It’s just his work rate and lack of pace works against in. It was interesting how much JE cajoled him to close down. You can see where the issue is! Great noise from the BBE in the 2nd half! Credit to Oxford, I thought they looked a good team. I think they will surprise a few this season. Really good subs from the manager again. Really impressed with Eustace, he’s doing a really good job overall.
