This is what I’ve said all along. They are choosing not to fund, which is far worse than being unable to fund. Which is why I questioned WATR’s stance on not wanting them gone.

I suppose it depends how much they are asking for a guy with 6 months left on his contract who is 29. The ‘full amount’ might be a stupid amount.

You’d have to know what’s at stake to know why they are fighting it. What are the implications to their business of losing the case? What are the potential punishments they face if they lose? etc

Or nothing will change. The player sales already made will cover losses for at least another year, dependant of course on how the payments are structured. If the owners can’t/won’t send funds then a tipping point will eventually be reached, but it won’t be until the £30m+ received in transfer fees has run out.

You would think Venksters would have known of a possible delay and that’s why we’ve not touched the Wharton/Raya/Szmodics money. Everything spent so far has been covered by Gally/Wahlstedt/Telalovic. So the latest court delay (if true) may not affect the transfer plans in this window.

If true that it has been delayed, then I’m looking forward to how this will be communicated by the club. I’m guessing ‘the owners will continue to fund the losses’ line will be trotted out. That clearly isn’t an adequate response so also looking forward to seeing how the Supporters groups respond. WATR said they would reevaluate their stance after Aug 20th as I recall. The kicking of the can down the road can’t go on forever.
