  1. Nice to get some business done early for a change. Never heard of the guy until a couple of days ago. 24 years old and 13 goals in a title winning L1 side last year sounds decent business on a free. If he can add a bit of strength and pace up top it would be an improvement.

Pretty sure George Hirst had 13 L1 goals before we signed him and we all know how good he was.....

  2. Not really an Academy player but a young player nonetheless. According to my football app Dilian Markanday has only made 1 sub appearance for Aberdeen since his Janurary loan. Not sure if he's injured but not what you'd expect if he had any decent prospect for us

  3. I don't think from an on the pitch point of view losing BBD is the end of the world. We will miss his goals of late (still top scorer this year), but the games when BBD was injured we arguably played the best stuff all season. Others will need to step up and we will have to do sensible business in the transfer marker to make up them goals but its not impossible. Id rather keep Hyam.

The massive loss is the lack of a transfer fee to re-invest. Annoying but not the end of the world.

Loosing good players on a free is an unsustainable position for a club like us. Thankfully it looks like they're trying to sort it. As others have said its a funny one with BBD, because he was absolute garbage until 18 months ago, and by then his contract was already into its final 12-18 months.

The big one who has said he wanted it before is Jose Mourinho

The problem is he has probably fallen out with most of the English players 😂

And he wouldn’t fit the FA mould. I’d like it though. Mourinho gets trophies

Not sure Mourinho is just a better version of Southgate. Very much in the keep it tight and win 1-0 category. Id have liked Eddie Howe before Newcastle snapped him up.

  5. I think Southgate has done a good job for England and our recent progress at tournaments shows this, but I firmly believe that he is too cautious minded to really push us towards winning something. I also think he's had one of the best pools of players of any manager in recent history, and any half decent manager would have got us pretty far in all those tournaments.

The Euro final at Wembley was there fore the taking. 1-0 up and tried to sit back from about 30 minutes onwards.

Last night, dominate the first half and second half barely get out of our half. Yes Italy played better 2nd half, but this can only be an instruction from the manager. We won the game so fair play, but it made for a harder finish than it needed to IMO.

I wouldnt loose any sleep if Southgate left, apart from Im not sure what other decent managers are available and would be interested in international football.

  6. The game against Stoke was always going to be a tough game, especially when their confidence is up. This team isn't good enough to win every game so we were always going to lose at some point. The big test of promotion is following up a bad result with a good one. This game should be a must win. Wonder if we could drop Szmodic deeper against a poor reading side.

    Britain  Carter Hyam Pickering

                  Szmodic Travis

    Thomas    Dolan       BBD
