  1. Gutted that we are so desperate for cash we had to sell Stead (Savage buy is even more annoying now)! I'm sure stead will do well and I wish him all the best, but if he saves sunderland at the price of Blackburn then........ best not get to far ahead, we will deal with that situation if and when it arises. Well the new manager certainly has balls.... we had the worst attack in the premiership before the stead sale - now we have old boy Dickov and unproven kids..... 2 months and counting..... 03/04 Stead Saves Rovers 04/05 Hughes Saves Rovers I know which one was a more enjoyable to watch.......
  2. Is it just me or does anyone else think £3m for Savage looks like an even bigger waste of money now we are scratching around for a million quid and needing to sell a very young and potentially talented player in Jon Stead to raise it? The fact Charlton are interested in taking a gamble on him at £1.8m and were not for free is a disgrace. Yes the headcount is too high but reducing it at all costs is a little short sighted. Anyway Stead money has no doubt been earmarked as Amoruso's pay-off. Football is sick.
  3. Its easy: Wins at Ewood are like rocking horse poo (PC mad message board), goals are rare and we play one up front at home to crystal palace despite being all but "safe". No entertainment = No fans. Simple. You can ramble on about the importance of being in the premier league, but sport is entertainment. Milking the premier league money has become more important than entertaining the fans. Keep the bussines running, nevermind the football - hell where do you draw the line after all 40 x 0-0 will keep you up, why not play 8-1-1 or even 10-0-0. It will keep the "bussiness" going and preserve the all important premier league "status". I do bussiness Monday-Friday. Not Saturdays. Thats why I wont be renewing my season ticket.
  4. On the Glazer thing - The issue here to my mind is the future of the premier league, unfortunately I don't think Glazer will ruin scum - He will ruin teams like Blackburn and heres why:- Glazer owns the team with the highest number of "armchairs" and as such will want control of the TV rights. The EU competition watchdog has expressed concern at the way the premier league currently sell the rights bordering on calling it illegal. So 5 clubs will go solo on TV rights, splitting the premier league - what will follow will be bloody and messy and they will be casualties, the European superleague will rear its ugly head again, talk of break aways The net result - the biggest clubs and essentially Glazer will get control of the premier league. Is it in their interest to have 20 clubs? No. So we all laugh at the muppets now but we wont be laughing in the long run. We will be powerless, penniless pawns in the new billionaire era and it is us The Rovers who are in danger of ruin! I mean really when you buy something for a lot of money and wait a long time to get it - do you then abuse it and ruin it?
  5. Is beer on the ground still available? Its a bit desperate I know but if all the not so local pubs are going to be rammed - it may be the best option? Not impressed, most hooley activity is carried out miles from ground whats the point?
