Thanks Tyrone, it’s forced one of our group to get a new passport just to be sure.

To put it in a sentence - you need to look at the date of issue and the ten year rule.and ignore any months that might have been tacked on to your ten years previously if you want to be safe.

The internet is littered with travel professionals who have got this wrong and denied boarding to people like yourself Tyrone. Simon Calder has been banging on about this ever since Brexit brought it in.

You had no need to renew for this trip and could have got compensation for not being allowed to fly if you had. Although you might well not have wanted that!

What was worrying me was being refused boarding in Spain.

I want a right sided attacking player suits that's suits how we play.  Hedges kept drifting inside and Brittain provided the width mainly from the right side. That's what Ismael wants

That’s ok as long as we have somebody who is as capable an attacking player as Brittain. What happens when he leaves ?

Unhealthy reliance would, I would guess as an occasional observer, be correctly used to describe Rovers U21 use of Tyjon last season. He played as a lone forward for much of the season, ploughing a thankless furrow in a poor team. He got injured a number of times and didn't score much. He's no teenage Rooney, physically speaking, and obviously needs help as a striker.

Unfortunately, without support, I see something similar happening to him and Boggan this campaign.

He’s not a  “ leader of the line. “ type striker. More of a Sammi type player.

In terms of best position, his lack of physical presence or real speed, but being a clever player (his awareness & movement is very impressive for his age), probably mean that being a 10 (more in the mold of a Dack rather than  a Cantwell) is where he will end up. Which is where he featured mainly last season, and also in the friendly last weekend

Can see him being Cantwells deputy this season, as it will enable that 1st team route, and also means that they have an excuse for not signing someone

In terms of his goalscoring, he had a start-stop season last time out due to a combination of injury and him "tagging along" with the first team instead of playing for the U21s, but still managed a ratio of 1 goal in 3 (1 in 1.5 if you look at minutes played) (reminder, he was 16 until March at this is at U21 level)

“ Paul Gallagher “ went through my mind watching him last weekend. If Gally had have been quicker he would have been a top striker. As it was he was blessed with only average pace. Having said that he had a good career playing in a deeper role without ever reaching the heights.

Can those who watch more of  the under 21 team shed some light on Igor Tyjon?  Keep seeing his name mentioned as the next top prospect. He doesn't  seem prolific.  Is he actually that good? What is his best position? I've read that we are offering a route to the first team, in the hope he signs a pro deal.

I feel we definitely need another first team striker, do we go with this lad?

Without knowing much about him, it seems like another situation where a youth player is holding the club to ransom a bit by not signing a pro deal (within his rights obviously).  If we hild off  signing another striker to give him that pathway, surely you would want the pro deal signing before the end of this window?

I watched him in the Accy game. A near and tidy player who obviously knows his way around the pitch. He not particularly big and not particularly quick. He kept possession ok and passed the ball around with short passes. I wouldn’t say the game passed him by but I can’t recall him doing anything that really caught the eye. Buckley also came with a massive reputation at a similar age.   It’s a real achievement to be playing against men at such a young age but I didn’t see what Arsenal scouts are allegedly seeing.  I suppose they can afford hoover up as many likely young players as they like on the off chance that 1 in 10 might make it.

    Did he slip?

Did his "cover" in front of him do his job properly ? Had he been left with 2 to mark?

Did these successful dribbles result in poor delivery, because Mclaughlin had pushed his man onto his "wrong" foot?

I agree. Just bare individual stats don’t always tell a proper story in a team game. If you’re a full back and your winger isn’t pulling his weight defensively you may get beaten from time to time.

De Neve signed as a winger (where he played mostly for his last club) who can also play wing back.

Anyhow, the key point is, if he hasn't been signed as Weimann's direct replacement, we have neither replaced Batth nor Weimann yet and bear in mind Batth was an outstanding performer for us last season and Weimann had excellent impact and delivered when we needed it with both goals and assists.

Age is irrelevant - it's the quality and ability to perform - Cowans, Moran, Gale etc and presently for other clubs Messi (38), Ronaldo (40), Modric (39) etc

It’s certainly more of an irrelevance for centre backs. Them and goalkeepers tend to go on the longest.

I thought bar two mistakes by the atrocious Carter (albeit Williamson went walkabouts on the 2nd goal too - clearly a CM playing CB) Sweden didn't do much.

England completely ran out of puff when they equalised though.

Yeah, the first goal was a complete gift.

I’m not saying they necessarily will be replaced by two better players straight away, but hopefully they will be replaced by to players With more financial upside if they turn out great. When it comes to the experience in the squad; we have Hyam, Wharton, Pickering, Travis, Tronstad, Carter, Cantwell and Hedges to name a few. This is spiced up with some very exciting prospects in Tyjon, Batty, Duru, Montgomery, Riordan.

Non of those five prospects you mention are at a stage where they can hold down a first team spot.

I would happy with the McLoughlin signing. Experience, knowhow and knowledge of the Championship. Sensible signing for us. Still think we need a 5th option given that Wharton is just returning from long term injury and Carter's injury problem.

Or we are signing players that Fit the requirements of Ismael in terms of how he wants to play and qualities he wants

or Maybe Ismael rates both and they fit how he wants to play. Brittain is training and they has been no second bid from Boro so lets hope we can convince Brittain to stay and sign a new long term contract here

Don’t worry about Carter, he’s only got cramp.
