I'm originally from Waterfoot - barely out of the 19th century itself, Even we thought of Bacup as another world - and not in a good way!

I nearly got signed by Bacup Borough back in the mid 1960’s. It was a strange experience.

I dont get why you dont have enough faith in your opinion to just pass it off in favour of McKenna's. We dont even know if he picked him but he wont have seen him week in week out for years like us.

That being said, there is an element of truth in what you say about losing him. Hes proven himself over many years to be somewhat effective at this level, he usually gets 8 or 9 goals and he offers other things, I'd say he is Championship standard but bottom half. If we signed a player with his record for a free, we would probably be saying he is a decent squad pick up.

We are also likely to be scrambling around in the frees and loan market, and we know from experience that it is difficult to get anyone anywhere near good enough under those conditions, so to get 2 up to standard will be hard.

That being said, he has had a particularly bad season this season, especially with his recurring injuries, and he is the top earner. It would be a no brainer to let him go if we had competent owners and room to manouevre budget wise, as we likely wont then it is a bit of a risk but I still think he should probably be let go.

I’ve defended Gally in the past but as the seasons have gone by he’s just  got worse and worse. He’s supposed to be our No1 striker and when did he last look like scoring a goal ?

He's a forward, an experienced one and there'd be no shortage of takers if he came available on a free. I think we'd be mad to let him go when he's already paid for.

The knack would be getting someone better to play in his place, challenging him for his place.

He’s not good enough for this league and if we were to drop down he’s too expensive for that league. Plus he’s injury prone. I’d let him go.

He shouldn't be leading the line, but I'd definitely keep him. If we do keep him, and then sign what looks like an improvement, I'd say that is more of a good sign going forward.

We need another forward, not just a replacement.

Where would you play him then ? For me he’s had more than enough chances to shine and this season he’s hardly contributed.

Stay up or go down, for me, Eustace has to go.

Simply don't think he's up to it.

Young and upcoming - no, the guy's in his mid forties with a track record of 3 years at Kidderminster, caretaker spell at QPR and a brief spell at Brum until it seems the owners concluded he wasn't the man to deliver their ambitions.  So, in my book, Eustace has achieved very little as a manager, is relatively inexperienced and has certainly not been 'in demand' and for that there would have to be reasons why.

I think his league record with Rovers is very, very poor and we go into our last game still with a real risk of relegation and hoping and praying results go our way in other games.  To average less than a point a game over the course of a season will get you relegated.  What a state of affairs.

    • Eustace's record P15  W2  D8  L5  F13 (5 of which came in 1 game)  A18  P14
    • Eustace's home record P7  W0  D5  L2  F4  A7  P5

At home, we have failed to score in 3 out of our 7 games (and 4 games out of 8 away) and his home record includes games against teams of the ilk of Owls, Plymouth, QPR and Millwall - just one win against any of those teams and we would now be safe.  Think his game management yesterday when a fatigued Coventry went down to 10 men for 40 minutes (including added time) was negative, unimaginative and potentially catastrophic with our failure to get a win.

IMO, he's a 'yes man' (unlike JDT) who causes no ripples in the boardroom, is weak and therefore a player's dream, is negative and also tactically inept.  I also find his interviews cringeworthy, IMO, full of cliches, platitudes and bullsh1t.

Sadly, no matter what league we are in next season, I think Eustace will remain in charge.  If we are fortunate enough to stay up then I think relegation will be nailed on with Eustace, if we go down, think we will be no better than mid table in League 1.

As one of the Apollo 13 astronauts said 'Houston, 'we have a problem'.

I doesn’t matter who’s in charge. If we don’t spend we’ll struggle - and we won’t spend. You don’t have to have a massive IQ to work that one out. If I read in tomorrow’s paper that they’d tapped Klopp up and got him to change his mind and come to Rovers I’d stifle a yawn. He’d do nothing at Ewood under these clowns.

Its Venkys who havent allowed any yo be reinvested and need to be held to account.

What exactly does that mean ? It’s just a word salad. Who’s going to hold them to account ? What does that account look like ?  Who’s going to do it ? You, Me, the government ?

They’re untouchable and they know it. A real government would have tackled these type of football club owners years ago  but they don’t give a bollocks either.

Isn’t it a case that all players have a price, that no matter how good they are or how big a name, that no player is unsellable? Even the likes Messi and C Ronaldo

Rovers put a price on Wharton that reflected his potential and his age, in other words he looks to have the ability to go to the highest level but he’s young and he’s inexperienced and young players sometimes do not always develop into the players they promise to be. Older Rovers fans will remember David Bradford who IIRC Ken Furphy said would be Britain’s first £1 million footballer but whose career ultimately never took off.

Rovers put a price on Wharton and ultimately Palace were the only ones willing to pay it. It’s not true to say we took the first offer that came along. Rovers could have asked £25m or £30m but no one would have gambled that sort of money on a young Championship player. And it is a gamble because there is no guarantee that any signing will work out for the best

I have no problem with the Wharton sale. Good luck to him. I wish he hadn’t gone to a nothing southern club but there you go.  The real issue is that the money has not and will not be reinvested in other players. That is where Waggott and co need to be held to account

I’m not having that Jim. If we’d have held onto the lad until Summer we’d have got much more. Not only that but we wouldn’t have been staring down the barrel of the relegation gun next Saturday. When he walked out of the door at least 50% of our creativity went with him.

and what is going to achieve Tyrone? are you Season ticket holder? if not when was the last time you attend a game?

I have already posted my opinion on what ST should cost from next season, Rovers should charged £199 for Riverside, £249 for BBE and lower JW, £280 for JW upper wing and £330 for JW upper centre. What do you think of those prices?

I’ve never had a season ticket. It never made sense as I couldn’t get to enough games to make it viable. If it wasn’t for my grandson and my desire to pass on the Rovers baton I’d be boycotting myself. I only go infrequently these days and even then I only go to keep him going.

Well I haven't given a single penny to venkys since they turned up and I never will.

A total boycott is what should be happening but obviously not everyone is in the same boat. In reality though, they are in the minority.

I agree. Nothing will change until there is a total boycott. That is obvious.

players breaks his leg twice in 2 years, has a metal plate in it and we sign him 😅you really are on **** street with those two in the building

Nearly as bad as my rugby league club that once signed a guy with one leg ! They went to scout a guy in deepest Wales only to approach his twin brother in the club house after the game. They offered him a signing on fee without knowing he’d lost the bottom half of his leg when he was in the army !
