The sweat has increased x 10 on my brow and it aint the weather either!! :(

also, jeffers shares the U21 goalscoring record (16games 13goals) with a certain mr shearer.

  2. england's penalty nightmare is purely down to 'player mentality.' they dont have any self belief. you can tell by the look in their eyes that they are going to miss.

  3. Must admit that when I first saw this topic I thought:

"Oh no, not Robert (as in Laurent Robert)!!! I want him to go out of Benfica but not to Rovers". :P

the only prem ground where robert played well was..... ewood park!

roberts is a great signing. he might not be a prolific goalscorer, but he offers pace, power and is suberb at holding the ball up.

  4. Astonishing the number of people who know better than Mark Hughes, keep faith with the Manager, give the player a chance.

Same old Rovers fans, one long whinge.

correct, and the whinges are becoming even more 'knee jerk.'

it's unbelievable, that a large percentage rovers 'fans' would rather slag off the club, rather than support it.

it's always been that way, but i still i cant get my head around it!

  5. The same was said about Kuqi last year and he just about proved his worth even if only for his goal celebration!

kuqi proved his worth by scoring some important goals (particularly in the 1st half of the season).

i think jeffers will prove to be a very shrewd signing and, with the incentive based contract, the only person that can lose out is jeffers himself.

  6. I doubt this will be the only use for this topic. Moans and Groans to follow over the coming years.

Big Yawn sums it up, on a hot day hardly a deal to wake you up.

I wander how many fans shirts Jeffers will get his name on?

it's better to see how he performs, before critising.

with support like this, there's no way he can fail!

  7. Germany will knock Argentina out, but probably not in 90 minutes. It wil take ET/shootout and possibly a dodgy penalty, selective blindness by the referee to fouls/handball for Germany to win

i think the only way germany will win is on pens.

the home crowd wont be a decisive factor. the ARG squad are experienced of playing infront of partizan crowds ( in their own country and beyond).

ARG strength in debt is the best in the tournament. not only will they beat germany, they'll win it outright!

  8. my cousin, from melbourne, is extremely dissappointed with the aussie displays (performance wise and inparticular playing too defensively) and is dismayed by the plaudits the 'socceroos' have rec'vd.

i was wondering- is austrailia's campaign viewed as success/ or failiure, by the aussie public and media ?

  9. Already done better than Spain in this competition.

Things are working out quite nicely.

if you're thinking in those terms, the portugal defeat is REALLY going to hit you hard!

england havent come up against a half decent side yet, saturdays game will give a truer depiction of england's quality, on and off the field (or lack of it).

  10. if ghana can play a high tempo physical game, then they might cause brazil some problems.

the brazilian defence isn't as young as it once was and me for one have been well impressed with some of ghana's attacking play in this world cup although their finishing has to be more clinical.

saying that though, how are ghana going to keep out the supreme brazilian forward line, ronaldo looks as though he's finally woken up and ronaldiniho still hasn't set his usuall standard.

    i'm going 3-1 brazil.

ghana aint great at the back and their keeper is suspect (that's being kind to him).

i expect today to be the day brazil start firing and i reckon they'll win 4-0.

  11. Costinha :P already signed for Atletico Madrid about a month ago.

I still believe Maniche could come to Blackburn.

i'm sure he's been trying to get his contract cancelled with D. Moscow. remember reading somewhere,- he's threatening legal action, as they wont let him leave.

maniche is a fine player, but cant see him coming to blackburn, not if a team from POR, ITA or SPA come calling.

  12. i've heard a few loons on radio phone-ins saying " our peformance against ecuador at last has proved we have the quality to win it!"

i've also heard people saying " we can play better", i disagree. i think we played to our optimum ,against ecuador.

lump on portugal, theyre certain to beat us.

poland and serbia apart, england have been the most boring, negative team at the finals- this cannot be argued!
