1. Despie the defeat I am a proud Rover after the performance. I am angry with the ref and also with the fact Kuqi was brough on for the impressive Emerton. It killed our attacking fluency.

    388639

rolleyes.gif what did emo do today ? mad.gif really fed up with the kuqi bashing! he's not the greatest player (if emo has kuqi's work rate and desire he'd be a world beater) but he's contributed far more than emo.

kuqi 5 goals 4 assists (the most assists by any rovers player/ fact).

    give the guy a break.

  2. both those players are doing brilliant at their respective clubs

4 games and 5 goals for derbyshire

    388430

    they're both on fire!

gallys workrate hold and link up play are questionable, but he is certainly a goalscorer.

only seen derbyshire a couple of times, looks a bit light-weight- (nothing a few pints of guiness and fry ups cant solve) banging the goals in though.

hughes seems to rate johnson higher than both of them, i disagree (for once).

  3. the result hurts but............

i'm really proud to be a rover today. the effort every rover put in today was emense. i didnt go (weather, travelling, £31.00 when it's on sky, put me off) the performance was very similar to the game at celtic in the uefa.

i dont want to sound like a broken record, but sav. was awful today. his desire cant be questioned, but his ability can.

emo is the exact opposite. all the ability in the world but no conf. or heart.

bentley was superb i thought and really put down a marker today. he's shown he is capable of playing in the middle.

bellers, what can i say. the guy has yet to have a bad game for us. he's a fabulous footballer, team player and a much better finisher than i thought he was.

he is the dif. between rovers being an average, hardworking team or a top 6 side.

if he can stay fit for the rest of the season, with the run in we have, rovers will easily make europe.

it's been a pleasure (no pun) following rovers (h and a) and

i'd like to thank hughesy and all his staff (some of whom i knw) for a wonderful season (much better than i'd hoped for).

    keep believing! rover.gif

  4. Really???

For a start, Spurs have two of the weakest full backs in the league with Stalteri and Lee.

They also have a problem at left midfield with either Davids or Tineo(sp) playing out wide, who would not get in the rovers first 11.  And would most people really rather have either Jenas or Murphy replacing Sav or Tugay in the middle??

Now for their strikers, if you seriously believe that Defoe is a better player than Bellamy, then you listen to the pundits on MOTD way too much. Keane or Mido would get in the Rovers side, but neither would replace Bellamy as he is far the better player all round

    387795

i agree, staltari & lee are hopeless. bellamy will run the channels and frighten the life out of the pair of them !

we might loose the mid. battle though.

before this season, i thought defoe was a better 'goalscorer' than bellamy. how wrong i was! bellamy is much more of a team player than i thought and he blows defoe out of the water!

wouldnt mind mido, keane or defoe as bellamy's partner though.

  5. Let's hope you're sufficiently soooo moved to emerge from smug apathy to actually doing something about the atmosphere at Ewood other than having a dig at somebody who's making an effort. Go on, you know you can and what's more you'll be helping to make the drummer obsolete!

    387111

'drummerboy', you're clutching at straws mate!

i emerge from my smug apathy, week in and week out! i always sing and shout.

i'm not saying i'm better than anyone on here (when in say this):-

i'm 26 and had a season ticket for 21 years and hardly ever miss an away game.

(check my buying history an all if you want!).

anyone who spends their hard earned money has a right to express their opinions

back to topic- THE DRUMS ANNOY ME AND ARE WRECKING THE ATMOSPHERE mad.gif

cant your pal get behind rovers without banging his drum ??????????????? blink.gif

  6. a blast from the past :

lets hope this is us again come sunday 6pm

    387025

    smile.gif i'm on there!

ah happy days! what a great trip that was. yorke and cole were fantastic and todd played like beckenbaur!

i reckon the 'kuqi monster' should play on sunday. i know.... before you all give me pelters, remember back to the ewood game. he dominated dawson and frightened the life out of him. bellers can then attack king.

  7. as a riversider, it's embarrassing! during sex do these people.... withdraw their interest early ? laugh.gif

they also walk like tortoises and carry on watching the game. a solution would be to open the back of the stand (like it used to be).

as for the BBE drummers (one used to be in the riverside and really get on my nerves!)

get rid of them, completely. so annoying and most chants are drowned out by their constant banging! (not connected to my withdraw comment wink.gif )

  8. I think ive he played more than 1 match a month the fans would like him.

your quote amazes me! he's been fantastic (inj. arent his fault).

11 goals in 21 apps (only 16 starts!) is a fantastic record!

maybe the fans that've stopped coming to ewood agree with you ?

(and appearing in the telegraph "lets get behind stanley" unsure.gif )

the apathy of the blackburn (& nearby) public amazes me!

if fans dont show there appreciation, both in attendance & vocal support,

*(but you dont need large numbers to generate an atmosphere/ west brom and pompey prove that!)

then we dont deserve hughes, bellamy or a top 7 side!

    mad.gif

  9. summed up brilliantly sir! bigots, 1st and foremost, and tugay haters have really reached the depths if they are using his religion to illustrate an already threadbare argument!

why even mention it ? his ability and vision shouldnt be questioned. it's not his fault others arent on his wavelength! ( people slagging him are probably the same people who continuously chant reid and sav's names ?)

    he's a genius! tugay... i salute you

    "i guess you'd say

what can make me feel this way?

    tugay!"

    * Sorry to any people from Utah reading this who aren't married to eight wives who are all their cousins. biggrin.gif

i'm not offended, but my eight wives are! wink.giflaugh.gif

  10. hope percy is still inj.he always scores against us.

i'd play bentley/ dickov upfront with bellamy. king pong hasnt been good enough so far. easily dispossed and doesnt seem to want to part with the ball.

bentley will play out of his skin. he's improved since he's got a contract. maybe he was trying too hard, or felt pressure before ?

peter on the right. i've seen sergio play on the right for the reserves and he'd be more of a threat than emo or reid. reid is all effort but no final product (he'll be picked to combat ashley cole, though).

i'm heartened by memories of beating them at ewood a couple of seasons ago (when hakan, duff and tugay ran riot and cygan was abymal) if we improve on our last 3 performances, we've got a real chance of beating them.

bellamy to score twice in a 2-1 win thumbs-up.gif

  11. great result last night (any win is great).

tugay masterclass. gonna shed a few tears when he salutes the crowd for the last time! did you see him in his towel? think he showered in his kit!

he's gonna misplace passes if the players around him dont give him the option that they should! usual suspects.

pong didnt improve on his WBA or EV performances. cant hold up/onto the ball. head down.

bit harsh on ped. he was nowhere near fit. sergio will be his eventual replacement (when he's sold) then we'll struggle to keep him rolleyes.gif

(check my sergio thread out from june/ always rated him).

the table makes good reading, but imagine where we'd be if bellamy had been fit all season and if we'dve beaten either WBA or EV!

id be overjoyed with 4 pts from the next 2 games. be just like rovers to beat arsenal and spurs and loose to villa and boro!

  12. didn't realise we had a man advantage already mate biggrin.gif

only pulling your leg buddy, think we have had some practise now against 10 men, so if it comes to it we must of learned or hughsey will be flying of the handle again.

    384199

no offence taken! i meant 10 outfield players defending though laugh.gif

loving these predictions of 6-0 and 7-1 an all. 1-0 will do fine! smile.gif

  13. I think the fundamental problem is finding an effective central midfield pairing. The current personel can't do it so it will have to be the summer before Hughes can rectify the problems. And no, giving Tugay a new deal is not going to be much help. At some stage we have to find an adequate replacement.

    383750

i think i'm going to faint! blink.gif at last someone who agrees with me. emo, reid, sav. not good enough!

it amazes me the vocal support "reidy" and sav get from our fans and bellamy gets hardly none!

the only good thing reid did on saturday-threaten to hammer that steward, when he was time wasting.

savage should play kabbadi (pakistani british bulldogs), he aint a footballer.

give the axe a chance, did okay at west ham in the cup, i saw him with my own eyes.

hope the young girl who had her head split open by a coin, at goodison is okay,

  14. just back from goodison and cannot believe what i've witnessed. a kuqi header and a deflected peter shot was the closest we came.

    the reasons:-

def:- lack of communication betw todd, nelson and freidel. nver seen brad look as shakey.

todd, nelson (as last week) cannot deal with a simple punt downfield.

    mickey gray is struggling.

sav and reid in centre mid doesnt work! neither can pass water, means no service for the strikers and more importantly, away from home, we cannot keep the ball.

(i did post that after our 1st horror show against west ham on the opening day).

reid is more influential than sav. though that doesnt say much!

sav great engine. can run all day, that's it though! i'd rather have martin andresen! unsure.gif

emo: enough is enough. luckily hughes is also running out of patience.

(dragged off today, doubt we'll see much of him again, only as sub)

king pong: although no service, was shocking. too easily knocked off the ball, and doesnt see anyone else on the field. (hope he proves me wrong).

only players with any credit were bentley, bellamy, tugay, kuqi (for his effort) and sergio.

apologies for the rant, but having travelled up and down the country watching rovers this season (particularly the last 3 trips, west ham, brom, and everton) i need to let off some steam!

comiserations to the 3 rovers fans from peterborough, who i was talking to on the way back, if only the team had shown the same commitment as you!
