Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get some money for Williams, but right now he's our #2 / #3 CB and the season is less than a fortnight away. I've no confidence that Mowbray is going to get someone in at CB. You can let Williams do all of the due diligence with this MLS club, but you can't cross the t's and dot the i's on the transfer until you bring someone else in.

Simply can't sell him at this point.

I'd argue 'in his best spell' he's scored two cracking goals in a friendly and created two goals in the League Cup.

The penalty was saved - it wasn't a bad one. He also scored two cracking goals against Blackpool.

JRC isn't a full back. That's clear as day. You play him at AML or AMR. It's not like anyone has nailed down those positions.

Need defenders. Sign attacking midfielders.

It's irrelevant who we sign at CB if Bell / Bennett / JRC is playing LB.

I always suspected you were a wrong'un.

Rothwell makes things happen and terrifies the opposition when he carries the ball from midfield. For a team lacking in creativity, how he's never been given a run of games at CM to see if he can make it happen consistently is beyond me. It was also more than one good pass - that's just the one I chose to highlight.

I'd advise your mate to not wait - don't think we have enough money for him.

He didn't look like a Championship player at this time last year. If Newcastle have offered £10m for him, I'll drive him up there myself.

I swear I watch different games to people. JRC just isn't a FB - his defending at that position is atrocious. He needs to be making the AMR berth his own with Dolan. Rothwell was fantastic today - I don't understand what people want from a CM. Nobody else in our team makes that pass through to Armstrong (for the Brereton miss).

He's doing the job that Mowbray has asked him to do. He's obviously not a traditional #9, as he doesn't like playing with his back to goal, but he could play up front in the centre for us. He just likes the ball to feet.

Agreed, Rothwell was sensational when he came on. We've not seen those types of runs and passes from the centre of the park for a number of years. Should give him a run of 5 games with Travis to see if they can form a partnership.

What's wrong with Armstrong? He looks in a right mood - and did at the end of last season too.

So about that LB...

Is anyone having trouble mirroring this to a smart TV from an iPad? Could do it last year - have they updated the app?

His two finishes against Blackpool were the best two finishes I've seen by a Rovers player for a long time.

At a minimum we need a LB. Stretch funds a bit further and I'd love a CB and a CM. ST is a pipe dream and, quite frankly, we have to live or die by the £15m strike force Tony has assembled (Armstrong, Dack, Gallagher, Brereton).

Bell is an utter liability at LB. A proven one. Wharton and Carter, at worst, are young and can improve. We DESPERATELY need a LB. More than anything else (besides new owners).

If we're talking about priorities, and I can only have one player, I want a LB.

I wouldn't mind another good one to take the pressure off Travis.

And I appreciate him for it.
