I'm thinking we should back away from this deal - that's £1m more than we were quoted. It's too much for an unproven player
-
I'm eager to see who Chelsea let go, I think we could get a few v. good players if we play our cards right
-
What... you mean after boro trialled him they suddenly realised that he wasnt a johnny foreigner mercenary they could sign on a free or on loan for extortionate wages. Nor was he a 5 goal a season injury plagued forward or just injury plagued for that matter!!!!
Arent these the guidelines steve mclaren abides by..... the most overated manager in the premiership...well apart from lancashires answer to Derek Trotter, the whealer dealer (2 for a pound) himself... Stand up Big Sam Allaredyce!!!!!
You can say what you like but big sam has been good at Bolton. In terms of money invested they should of been down a long time ago. To be fair you have to wonder what he would of achieved with a decent transfer budget.
Erm, you know all the money goes to the wages right? They're paying a lot of money out to these past it superstars

Dear , oh dear ; I now have to humbly apologise to Morph and accept that his judgement has been somewhat closer to reality than my own .
It'll be a long time before my faith in human nature is restored.... The only kiss this scumbag deserves is the old Glasgow variety...

Exiled, its all this waiting around for Gamst Pedersen to sign....
Well technically I have 4 months free, but shhhh
As for Pedersen, I get the feeling he's not coming to us, but somebody else will steal him - lets hope I'm not powerful in the Force

In 2012 (earlier if Bush gets re-elected) China will overtake the USA as the world's largest economy.
About the same time the number of hispanics in Texan schools will exceed the number of English-speakers.
OK I agree, English is THE international language and the growth in its domination shows little sign of weakening, but nothing is forever.
After all at the end of the fifteenth century, by far the largest and most powerful nation in Europe was....
Lithuania (it even had a Black Sea coast)
Wow, you have too much time on your hands
-
A lot of people gave their lives to make sure you had a choice of speaking English. Still, if you are so ashamed perhaps you think we should have thrown in the towel in WWII. At least then we could be speaking German AND another language.
Never read a bigger load of tripe in my life. What about the football, mods will you shut this crap down or move it if they want to go on about other stuff.
Besides a lot of English people speak foreign languages, Indian and Pakistani, Iraqi, Iranian, Bosnian and more than the odd bit of Chinese, to name but a few.
Well you are the one writing the tripe- none of those you name are languages
Well there is that.....
-
You could at least learn ONE other language
Some other big language like French, Spanish or German. Apart from Swedish and English I've also taken Spanish and French at school. Can't say I speak either of those very well tho.
Btw, is it mandatory in English schools to learn another language apart from English? From the general knowledge (Or lack thereof) of foreign languages I'd venture a guess at "No", but it'd be nice to know.
At my secondary school German was mandatory for all five years and French was forced upon the top two sets (there were several sets, the higher you were obviously the smarter you were
) in the second and third years. There was then an option to carry French on for the final two years, and you'd have to continue learning German alongside. I passed French (got me a certificate
) but I hated it because, well it's pants! I also got an A* in German, so I was pretty proficient. Emphasis on was though, as I've not spoken it for three years now - I'd struggle to order a drink now! In my defence nobody speaks German in England, there's no way of keeping yourself speaking it to a reasonable level.
Oh and erm....Pedersen (whoops nearly made him Swedish, or whatever the o instead of the e would make him!), hmmmm, yes, interesting (for all you whiners out there!).

Fat Sam strikes again Sky link - lizarazu
Bleeping bleep, how does he do it?!!
-
What is the over/under on tiny own-goals?
Play him at right fullback, Brucie !!!
Taylor has been shocking at rightback, but then I can hardly see Douglas turning him inside out
No, but I can see Gray doing it
-
what about tons and tons of tickertape?
ROVERS FOREVER
Tickertape would be good - you could tear up the remaining tickets in the season ticket book and use that.

While Leeds was drowning in a sea of debt, Ridsdale was out spending money on a huge fishtank for the boardroom to house some tropical fish, and phoning up journalists telling them that he'd always be available for any interviews.
What is your problem
Every boardroom needs a huge fishtank full of tropical fish

Taylor - dear god. i could play right back better than this plank. he looks like a £1.25m reserve player, which was summed up by being completely turned over by the wolves left winger. i'm impressed that souness managed to convince bruce that this bloke would be better than tebily!
That just warms my heart
The second guy needs to stop saying his catchphrase, otherwise those were some nice interviews/reports (though again the second guy is deluded, Taylor is pants anywhere you play him
)

A parrot walks into a sex shop, asks for an inflatable doll and the shopkeeper says..........
Try this one, it's already had a cockatoo.
You win in my book

He comes off as the arrogant barsteward he is in that article

Just joined up, I'll get back to you on how it is
-
Bumley fans literally creaming themselves over the prospect of Todd returning to the bog of eternal stench.
And rightly so
-
Not after recent events no
-
Now i'm not sure whether to take that as an insult or a compliment.
But I'll take it as a compliment anyway.
It's a bit of both
You presented one side of the argument very well whilst ignoring the whole post Dingle period
-
Pre Todd falling out with Souness
"Brilliant - player of the year by far"
Post Todd falling out with Souness
"Rubbish - never liked him - glad to see the back of him"
Maybe Todd shouldn't have spat the dummy out of the pram but it's very sad to see him leave the club after the season he's had unless we've got someone better lined up. You can hardly say Amoruso and Short are reliable injury wise.
And commercially, surely to god we could have got back the 750k we paid for him?
Ok Rev look at it this way Pre-return from the Dingledome:-
"He's been at Bolton reserves, Charlton reserves and a few months at Ewood. He's only a squad player who means next to nothing to our club."
"I couldn't give a toss where Todd goes to be honest. He's off our wage bill for three months which is nice. I think he'll do a good job there."
"I`d be more upset if one of our ball boys went to Burnley.
As for Todd, good riddance.
Certainly was never a Rover."
"For what its worth, Todd and Burnley deserve each other. I always felt it was an accute embarassment to have a player with Todd's "record" at Ewood."
Now i'm not putting names to quotes as that's not my game, although a couple are corkers. However doesn't it show how fickle football in general can be.
My own opinion hasn't changed and I do think it is a shame but no loss. If we get no money I feel it is a mistake but we don't know for definite that he has been released do we.
Has anyone told you that you'd make a good lawyer??

This is the last straw for me really, I want Souness gone
