What’s the financial situation like at Birmingham now? Could we potentially look at getting a bid in for Jordan James? Think he’ll be one who pushes on over the coming season.

Mentioned before that Liverpool supporting friends seem to rate Morton fairly well. Different level to Clarkson according to them but obviously no Elliot who was already premier league level when he joined us (IMO)

Time to judge is in September not now. We will get the quality signings we need before the deadline
Of course we will Chaddy. You have yourself a nice cup of cocoa and get tucked up in beddy bys.

Mate is a liverpool fan and has been raving about him so could be a good loan.

Aye all right. You clearly didn't have a clue who Johnny Price was when you replied to CLB' s tongue in cheek post about "Price" being a winger.
Understandably so unless you're getting on a bit like me.
His nephew is my plasterer if that’s any sort of claim to fame lol.

Would Conor Mahoney be worth a look? He’s on a free and has never really made the step up that was expected. Still young enough to do it though.

I’d feel more confident of JDT convincing a player to sign for us than I would have Mowbray.

We need to either get him signed up to a new contract or sold. Easy as that. No messing about like we did with the other three. Put a good offer on the table on the basis of not being able to afford for him to walk away on a free.
If he doesn’t sign it we have to sell this summer.

Ash turned 17 over the weekend so assuming he couldn’t sign a contract until then so maybe it is a recent pic. Anyone know if he’s out in Portugal?
It May be him and Carter filling the voids but I’d be concerned about that tbf. I think we need one older head and then give Carter a season with Philips being around the first team and used in the cups this season.

Bit harsh on Carter I feel. Pompey fans loved him down there and are desperate to have him back. If he comes back from a loan spell like Wharton did then it can only be a good thing. If Ayala does go though leaves us a bit short of experience at the back
Agreed. He’s had a successful loan spell in the league above the team that Wharton went to. They are keen to keep him. He’s now had two good loan spells in league one and will want to push on to hold down a championship place. Best position is the right side of a back three according to Portsmouth fans (my office is in Petersfield so I know a few fans from down there)

Is he any better than our own player in Carter? He’s also had rave reviews from Portsmouth.

I know I’ve mentioned it before but I think we’ll see a lot more of Carter for the one CB slot with another signed / loaned.

Which managers would JDT have played under? I’m guessing there are some big names based on the clubs he’s been at.
-
Pleased he’s been able to bring in two of his own staff. Think that will be an important factor over the season.
Genuinely excited about the appointment.

Could we see Ben at the World Cup with the news that Ecuador could be thrown out for fielding an illegible player.
All games he played in are reverted to 3-0 losses which moved Chile from 4th to 6th.
-
Portsmouth fans are desperate for them to sign Carter so hoping he is the one who can make a step up. Wharton made a decent step up after promotion with Northampton and Carter has been playing at a level above that.

Will there be compensation due as he came through the academy?

Good summary on Knutsen here when he was strongly favoured to take over from Farke at Norwich
Awful link to try to read as the ads make it jump all over the place on an iPhone. What I could read of it does make it seem like he’s be a great candidate though.
-
Well I’d never heard of him but reading some of the links shared make me quite happy about the whole thing. Seems like he’s been a big part of the success of Glimt recently.
-
Carter has had a strong loan at Portsmouth with the fans wanting him signed. Be interesting to see if he makes the step up and fills one of the gaps left by Lenihan and Van Hecke.

Morton and Liverpool 3-0 down at half time so fair to say he’s probably not impressed. May be being harsh on him as I’ve not been watching.
