  1. I admire your optimism Tony, I really do. I wish I could share the same feelings. Just one question, at what point do you think we should get rid of the manager if the present results and performances continue?
  2. Utter @#/?! If the manager's doing a bad job then he'll be sacked. Whether the board does it off their own will or wait until the crowd makes his job untenable remains to be seen but I suspect we won't have too long to wait.
  3. How were we in the first two games Jimbo? Or most of the games last season, especially the home ones? Were they all better teams?
  4. He wasnt.. pardon me. goals from,Thierry Henry in the 50min, Gilberto Silva on 58min and Reyes in the 79 min. Fabergas (or however it's spelt) apparently touched it in just before the line.
  5. Actually it's not that simple. The first half was very even mainly because we played a side resembling a decent one. We didn't take our chances and then got punished firstly by some good Arsenal play and then by some crap defending. Then we were embarrasing because we played with central midfield of Matteo & Gresko and we just gave up. oh yes and Emerton has a heart the size of a pea. We have the basis of a sound side run by d1ckheads who have no idea what they are doing. Yes I've had a few whilst watching it in the pub, yes i'm annoyed that we rolled over in the second half and quite honestly yes I hold my hands up and say that i'm not exactly teetering on the edge of the Souness out camp rather i'm plummeting. If we line up or play like that on Saturday then I will be thrown out. Nice to see you've seen the light.
  6. We're sh!t, Arsenal are good. It's really as simple as that.
  7. IF, if we sign both Coridon and MGP then we'll have Ferguson, Tugay, Emerton, Douglas, Flitcroft, Coridon, MGP, De Pedro, Thompson, Reid, potentially Matteo & Todd plus youth players like Danns & Donnelly all fighting for 4 midfield places. Very strange.
  8. I can't say I'd be that excited about signing an relatively unknown Norwegian kid. I'm probably not the excitable type though.
  9. The only way I think we can get something from this game is if we score first, defend like our lives depended on it, and then hope Arsenal get nervous. Arsenal will be under a bit more pressure than usual because of this record and it might, just might, affect their performance. Alternatively, Arsenal will score first, Highbury will erupt into a party atmosphere, and they'll knock 6 or 7 past us. I know what I think will happen!!
  10. While we're asking questions, does anyone know who's making our kits?
  11. Premiership referees are full-time professionals now so I would imagine that the e-mail address is an old one.
  12. I know about as much as Krislu.
  13. I can only apologise Bob. I'm frighteningly bored at work and thought it would be fun to create a fight with someone on here. You've completely undermined my efforts though by being reasonable and polite. @#/?.
  14. Ask Bob. He claims to know everything.
  15. I can't reveal them, sorry. I've probably said too much already. You know nothing. You're just an attention seeking little boy with too much time on his hands. Unless you do know something, in which case the above was perhaps a bit harsh. I reckon you know nothing though. Saddo.
  16. I suspect we'll play all the defensive players we've got, so we'll probably line up something like this: Friedel Enkleman Neill Short Amoruso NEJ Gresko Gray Flicroft Matteo Douglas Subs: Yelldell McEveley Peers Bruce Danns We'll still get beat by at least 4.
  17. You should be a politician Tony. The spin you put on our performances so far was superb - I almost started to believe you. Fortunately though, my head's not in the sand like yours obviously is.
  18. Cole's always missed chances but he still scores goals. What struck me yesterday was when was the last time we created four or five clear-cut chances for Cole in a single game? He'll do well there. As for Dickov, I didn't rate him before he signed and I still don't yet. I didn't think he did much in the first game, people seem to confuse running around like a headless chicken as good play, but he did well yesterday. If he carries on in that form I'll change my mind.
  19. Good post MB. I can also see what Souness is trying to do, unfortunately though he's not doing it very well. The problem with playing so negatively is that, as you said, we carry no attacking threat at all. This means that we are at the mercy of a refereeing mistake or a defensive mix-up in every game. It also hands the initiative to the opposition straight away - instead of them worrying about us we seem to be worrying about them all the time. It was ok at the back-end of last season when we were fighting for our lives, but to start off this season playing the same way seems ridiculous to me. It's as if we're already fighting a relegation battle without even having a go to see if the team is capable of better. I believe we have enough good players at the club to come up with a team and system that can balance both defence and attack. Sadly though Souness can't seem to find it. He can't even seem to play the right players in the right positions any more. As for the two games so far, we may have been the better team in both the games, but we were playing poor teams who will almost certainly be in a relegation battle this season. And we've only got one point from those games. It will be interesting, and maybe a bit frightening, to see how we fair against good teams in the next couple of weeks. Strachan would be my first choice as a replacement (realistically speaking) as well but I think your being unfair in dissmissing all the other names that have been mentioned. Some of them would be gambles but I thought Souness was a gamble when he first arrived and he was excellent for 3 years.
  20. I'm sure we'll get tonked at Arsenal so perhaps it's more interesting to predict how many players Souness will play out of position. I'll go for 5!
  21. I'm afraid I'm not doing one. I didn't go to the match and everyone seems to have watched it anyway. For what it's worth though, I thought we were poor in the first half but probably the better team until they scored. I then thought we played well in the second half after the inevitable tactical reshuffle. We were just undermined by some shocking defending and a terrible refereeing decision at the end. As for Souness's tactics at the start, others have said it all far better than I could. For those who still think Souness is the man for the job - how many more games does he have to pick terrible teams and formations before you change your mind? Seriously, I want to know.
  22. Have you thought of maybe ringing either the Rovers or Saints ticket office? Just a thought. They tend to know stuff about tickets. Being ticket offices like.
  23. Can't say. Don't want to affect the odds at the bookies! In all seriousness though, the diamond formation we seem to be playing this season, the lack of real width, playing a defender in midfield all seem to be geared twards making us hard to beat. As a result, I expect us to do better away from home where we can sit back and soak up punishment and then hope our front players get a bit more space to create something for themselves. We seem to struggle when the onus is on us to attack.
