  1. Wouldn't have fancied being in the home end at Sofia mind.

    They were pussy cats :D

I know Glenn has been try to arrange a pub for us all to meet up and hopefully this will happen if the locals get back to him. The night before the game in Sofia has to be my highlight, singing and dancing on the tables and Waggy seemingly unconscious on the bar, after several 70% proof vodkas, suddenly burst into song and gave us a rendition of "I was born in the Blackburn end"

    Quality moment :D

  2. as far as tickets go- I dont want to panic anyone but i am concerned- a source at the club (i cant name) has stated people will only get tickets (we have 730 odd) with travelling the official ways :o

surely this cant be so and tickets will go on sale to season ticket holders?

They can't do that because they'll be left with hundreds of unsold tickets.

They tried to do the same when we went to Lyon but discarded the idea after people went mad. Season ticket holders will get the bulk of tickets and rightly so, but i feel 700 maybe not enough for this one and queues are likely on the morning tickets go on sale.

Can i just add also that all the other clubs in the Uefa Cup have announced ticket details and travel packages, why haven't we??????

  3. we are flying into munich on the wednesday- can anyone tell me

1- how long train journey is and how often does it travel?

    2- how much!!!

3- do you need to book train tickets and if so, which site do you get them on?

    cheers in advance,

see you lot out there! :brfc:

Couple of hours and runs regular

20 Euros give or take a few

    No

  4. You not taking the infamous 'booze battle bus' then Gav? IPB Image

We're going to get f'kin stuffed!!!!

The booze bus will be hitting the road at some stage this season.

As for getting stuffed? Who cares? It’s all about following your team in to Europe, for me it’s the best part of following the club, you should try it SG you'll not be disappointed.....

  5. My brother in law paid £52 to watch todays game, £36 for himself and £16 for his 6yr old in the family stand. Now I'm all for charging a decent away support top dollar to come to ewood even if it keeps home supporters away but today should have been much cheaper, most people can't afford to pay £112 in the space of 5 days to watch Rovers live and Chelsea were always going to bring nothing in my eyes.

It's a real dilemma for the powers that be and i applaud them for their efforts so far but clearly they're on a hiding to nothing as we want to remain competitive but just can't get the fans through the turnstiles.

Whats the answer? I've no idea but its clear they're doing a fantastic job and lets hope they can keep it going............

  6. Gav, I don't want to slate any Rovers player but I know what I saw out there to day and it wasn't what I was expecting, having said that the Dutch are not exactly famous for their centre halfs are they ? Jaap Stam and then name another good one.

So what exactly were you expecting? a faultless performance against the best team in the league? he needs time to adapt to the pace of the game and the physical side of premiership football is something he'll not be used to.

    Give the guy a chance......

  7. anyone considering driving from Belgium ?

Hull to Zeebruuge ferry then a decent drive through the countryside ?

I am up for it from sunny Leyland, Den you fancy that ?

Was talking to a bloke who drove last year and it took him 3 days to get to Salzburg with a caravan on the back. He said it was a long treck and he'd not even consider it this time around.

  8. no-one seems to have posted anything about the likelihood of actually being able to get tickets to the game, it's all well and good plenty of us being there but if we cant actually watch the game we might as well save our money for the group stage!

I think you've got to take this game in perspective really, flights are not exactly cheap in the main but its an easier trip than say Sofia or Ankara. I'd say 300 tops attended each of those two away fixtures possibly less than that. In my opinion I'd say we'd just about manage to sell 700 tickets for this one, most people I've spoken to are interested in going, a Little like our trip to Lyon many moons ago. I think everyone who fancies going will be able to get a ticket and also I've been with numerous people around Europe watch Rovers and England, many without tickets who have always got in the ground regardless of stadium size.

I'd go regardless of having a ticket or not, Europe away with your club side is such a fanatastic experience and you never know, it could be our last.

  9. I've already said i agree with charging £36 on Wednesday as the away support swells the coffers. But it was interesting to note that the pub before the game was full, but mostly full of people out to watch the game on TV rather than pay £36 to have the privilege.

"I can have a few beers, something to eat and pay for a taxi home on £36" was the popular concensus....

  10. You can thank you support a decent club then as more high profile clubs have been known to say "its us or nothing" on trips like this.

As I remember it, Rovers tried that for the Lyon game but had to back down in the end due to lack of interest in the official trip. There isn't usually much interest in the official trips. Usually they're extremely overpriced and have a very badly thought through itinery.

(debs not gav, can't be bothered logging out and back in again)

  11. I really fancy going to this.

I'm not sure whether to wait for the official package to be confirmed.

Anybody travelled with the official travel before - is it worth while? I imagine it is going to be a little more expensive.

Definitely need to go - just need to sort it out.

Anybody yet to book and need a travel buddy? ;)

I travelled with the club many moons ago and it was ok for convenience, you flew the day before but returned straight after the game which was a nightmare. You can bet it'll be expensive also.

I've just been told Ryan air from Stanstead to linz (1hour by train from salz) is £65 return if anyones interested.

  12. Where's Waggy? No European trips complete without Waggy......

Salzburg was a great base when we traveled to Munich to watch England. I seem to remember most of our group drinking the local tipple 'Stern' where on another planet by 5pm, powerful stuff.

Great place, really picturesque and plenty of bars, but it seemed like the whole place shut at 6pm, we'll change that.

    Come on!
