  1. I view this thread every 20 pages or so and nothing really changes.

I'm a big Souness fan myself because what he's done for our club over the past few years has been remarkable, especially after the Hodgson and Kidd eras.

I must admit that I’d possibly consider his position if we were the same club as we were 6yrs ago, but anyone wanting him out now has no idea about today’s game and the clubs financial position.

We've got a team built by the manger with little or no funds to strengthen. Sack the manager and pay him off and we'd have even less to see then season out never mind pay for a replacement.

You've got to cut your cloth and all that cr@p, sacking Souness would be suicide for Blackburn Rovers at this stage.

  2. As has already been said, the same old bullshit and its taken up 60 odd pages.

Sack the manger and pay him the compensation he would command. Then bring someone else in to operate with the current crop of players??????

Yes doesn't make sense to intelligent people does it  :sarc:

  3. Why on earth would you want Shearer to be the manager of Blackburn Rovers?

Just a personal view but I feel he'd be good management material, a view apparently shared by Jack Walker who offered him a long term player manager role before he left for Newcastle.

How many times did Jack actually get it wrong Rev?

Shearer first of all would not leave Newcastle and second he's a greedy so and so and would probably want 10% of ever transfer in and out of the club plus 2million and year!

Sod that, as always stick with Souness he's doing ok for now.

  4. And Jims cancer analogy, give it a f*****g break, he's using it to make a point, it's not a personal attack on you, Jim may talk utter rubbage all the time but that is a bull**** excuse to condemn him

When you've lost someone close any reference to the subject matter would cause upset I’m sure, so give Abbey and break instead of saying he's making too much out of nothing because to him it’s certainly anything but that.

Jim certainly didn't mean anything malicious by the comment just pushed the wrong button on this occasion.

  5. Not sure that I would agree with Jim's analogy but after today's shambles I think Souness is nearing the point of no return.

Since the Wolves game I have seen no SPIRIT whatsoever in the team. (The 10 men against Liverpool honourably excepted.)

This is about supporting Blackburn Rovers and not Graeme Souness or any other individual.

But Revidge who the hell would you replace him with and how would you finance any rebuilding?

It would be financial suicide to sack Souness at this point in the season, he needs until Christmas at least and then I’d hesitate to remove him even if we were bottom of the league then.

SPIRIT? Did you not see Wednesdays display?

We hammered Leicester today and got nothing which is a worry I agree but if Thompson learned how to pass a football and Emerton added to that, both Cole and Yorke would have had a hatful.

As for rover6 adding hoddle to his list? i'm now sure he's a ringer. After the cup final no real Rover would want hoddle and his god squad anywhere near Ewood Park.

  6. Who replaces him is irrelevant.

There is a cancer in our stricken club and it needs cutting out before it kills the patient.

Supporters like you are the cancer  :<img src=:'>

And with recent falling gates i guess most are back supporting Man Utd from where they once came.

  7. Time to lift and dust this thread.

Does anyone now agree with me that the man has lost the plot and should leave the club?

I jokingly predicted before the season that we might go down but I never seriously expected it to happen.

As long as Souness remains at the club we are doomed. The players have lost confidence and no longer have any faith in the manager.

    The board should act now.

Only the recent arrivals to this site will ever agree with what you have to say Jim.

Nobody can blame the manager for today’s display. Workmen like with no end product, but what can the manager do about that? we had enough chances to have murdered Leicester but they didn't go in.

    WE WERE MUGGED.

Give Souness a big pay off and bring in WHO?

Because we have no money to build a new side and I doubt anyone willing to take the job would turn the current crop into title contenders. But that comment doesn't mean these players are bad players because they are not.

Only the brain dead are asking for the sacking of the manager. No he's not beyond criticism but looking at the wider picture it's clear to most supporters that we just can't afford to let the manager go.

You're beginning to sound like your mate Garry 'Bitter and twisted' Hickson

    :sarc:

  8. Mark Hughes, Chris Coleman, Mickey Adams

Those are for starters- without looking at lower division managers who should be given the chance.

Why not Gary Megson- He did the best he could with limited resources at West Brom- NIgel Worthington

Off the top of my head

And hand on heart you'd trade Souness for any one of them  :sarc:

Calm down Gav.......everyones entitled to there own opinion

    BREATH....... BREATH...........

  9. Even i've got to aim some of the blame towards the manager for tonights 4-5-1 formation? WE WERE AT HOME FOR GODS SAKE! regardless of injuries which are a major factor at the moment.

But lets sack Souness now and replace him with...........JOHN BOND maybe.

Think before you post it really does help to avoid abuse and foul language  :sarc:

  10. I dint think you could see over the seat in front of you pished or sober gav?    :p

Before my ledge was moved I watched most of the game on the TV mate   I've often thought about asking the club if they'd sell season tickets for the Blackburn End concourse at reduced prices because our little clan could save a few quid which would help with rising beer costs!

But if confined to my seat I guess you've got a point   although with some of the people sat around me I get a running commentary anyway.

  11. I can be found in Uncle Jack's before and after home games and I sit on row 19 seat 130 odd in the Blackburn End.

    Best Regards to all.

Aah! and there lies the rub....

You attend the game pished and sit behind the goal where you cannot see the shape of the play properly!

That explains a lot      :<img src=:'>  (Lol....)

I could do that, giz a job, go on giz it....... :D

  12. Only just picked up on this thread myself and find Rev's departure a disgrace. I disagree with a number of his views but that’s what his column was all about. Burnley baiting was a joy to read, only hope the new guy takes no s**t of scummings.

Having read the new lads first 2 pieces I feel he's got along way to go to bring his column up to Revs standard but he'll get better I’m sure.

After some of the 'goalpost' altering last season Rev, you're better of without it  ???

  13. Bought an album by a newish band called The Thrills!! The album is called So Much For The City and I'm really impressed by it!! They look like the next band to make it big.

Oh isn't music such a brilliant thing! My life would be rather incomplete without it!!

Got the very same album as you and must admit to being rather impressed. The reviews said a cross between Bob Dylan and Brain Jones.

Thought they were a Californian surf group but apparently hail from Dublin.

'Big sur' is a quality summer track as are 'Santa Cruz' and '1 horse town'

  14. Looks as though they're trying to keep everyone in one place and keep an eye on them. If coaches are travelling down full of supporters with no tickets, and all coaches are to be parked at the Darwen End, this means all the ticketless fans will have to make their way to the ground for the end of the match. Does this mean all the pubs round Ewood that are open will be full of Celtic fans watching the game? I really do not understand people travelling without tickets. All the touting will have been done already in Glasgow.

With you being a Blackburn Rovers supporter I’m sure that has something to do with you not understanding why people travel without tickets. It’s not something we ever have a problem with, I only wish we did.

7500 Celtic fans are coming to Blackburn and most will arrive by 11am if reports are to be believed. Ticketless fans with a PASSION for football and the club will just come and enjoy a day on the ale with fellow supporters, sing a few songs and have a real party despite not having a ticket. If the roles were reversed I’d certainly travel in the opposite direction to just enjoy seeing my supporters take over a town or city for the day even if I had no ticket.

    Wouldn't you?

  15. :brfc:    i wonder how many people feel a bit worried about the prospect of  -hundreds of celtic fans in the town before the match ? it is anybodys guess how many and for how long [ie those with tickets] will be in the town centre. they will know that theres more chance of a drink away from ewood during the day . i went to the game at scum several years ago with celtic-[ i went with my step dad who was born up there in glasgow] and i hope to hell i never see scenes like that night - the violence and missile throwing from the celtic fans had to be seen to believed.the scum fans just did not exist after the first celtic[infantry ]charge then it was just missile throwing at the police or anybody in range. after the game the celtic fans were just on the rampage down towards the town centre, i  even saw them drag a mounted policeman dragged off his horse.the plan was to restrict their drinking  but they came into blackburn before the game  buying large amounts of drink in the offys . so if in town on thurs beware.  :unhappy:

What a heap of absolute rubbish.  I wont even grace that statement with anymore than that.

That game was played in 1977, 25yrs ago!

Times have changed everywhere but in burnley  :<img src=:'>

  16. absolutely

I know its been mentioned on one of the other Forums - but should we try and "organise" a meet up of those from the board going - it would be interesting and fun to meet people who use this board and also means that Tris wont scare the hell out of me like he did at Birmingham  :D

I think Ste has a few ideas on arranging a meet. I'd go for a pub on the outskirts of town to avoid it being an away supporter only pub.

    I'm available from 11am  :D
